The Irtarded: Jumping the gun? See, it's exactly this attitude that means that the TRF galaxy will never change. I mean, someone has to make the sacrafice, be willing to give up his work to make a change come about. Unless your referring to the INS thread rather than my ideas. In that case, it's more like an afterthought, taking place just after the first news of the battle and before the start of the EaW campaigns, so no, it's not jumping the gun.
Actually, this idea is several months old. When I first brought up the idea in our private forums, everyone pretty much shot it down. Except for Wes and/or Kach, they sounded interested. But Simon/Drayson/Telan are impossible people to work with on this.
I fail to see how Park's News piece is jumping the gun, or relevent. The Empire at War campaign began some time ago - the IC news piece is simply referring to that... but how does any of that measure into the discussion of the fate of the Coalition?
Joren: yes, I've been very short with Titus and Irtar, because they've made ridiculous, out of line statements that insult the entirety of TNO. Get over it.
So how about we stop talking about how TNO continues to PWN the GC (and how unfair you think it is), and talk about the issue at hand - whether the GC should disband.
Dolash: I've toyed with the idea of establishing a new 'Galactic Alliance' group (to replace the defunct "New Rebellion"). I haven't given it an awful lot of thought, but if you're serious about this new approach, I'd be more than happy to lend you a hand in whatever capacity you need. :)
I break my silence to comment on the above and, I feel, one of the most poiniant topics to be broached here in and brings me back to an issue I've had with TRF for some time.
We claim to be a Star Wars based environment, and ostensibly we are. We have all of the major 'things', almost all of them.
Starships: From the opening scene of ANH, we knew that starships were going to be important and, here at TRF, we've taken it to a whole new level.
The Force: We have Sith, we have Jedi. Bases covered.
The Empire: Perhaps the most prominent face of evil in Star Wars, the Empire is a significant piece of the scenery and we've got that.
The Republic/Alliance: This, we don't have. Sure, the Coalition likes to think that they're the face of good in the Galaxy, but I don't know that this is the case. And I fear, I feel that we've lost or excluded a significant part what made Star Wars (at least, precluding the prequels to some degree) and we're suffering for it.
I'm probably going to kill myself later for saying this. Drayson, Dolash, if you guys are interested in a Galactic Alliance or something of the sort, I'm in as well.
So am I. In fact, I had hopes that the CW would become manifest that very destiny for itself. That said, however it does, if it does (and I feel strongly that it should) I am in. In like slim.
