Should I destroy the Coalition?

Well it could be with the more juicy tidbits of the Coalition up for grabs or taken over by TNO, Kasshyyk would not necessarily be a priority. Since any ships sent there would probably be destroyed and with a future of trying to pacify a majority of former Coalition citizens endless, I can see you being left alone by TNO as not worth the trouble.. :grin (I don't mean to sound condescending or insulting so if I do, I apologize).

Wookiees in particular would loathe the Empire, I'm sure they really don't want to be slaves again...

True, the Kashyyyk system had only recently joined the GC, so it's likely we wouldn't be considered a target. Since both planets are still recovering from the Separatist war, they wouldn't be considered a 'threat' right now...

Omnae, one might argue that members the old Rebellion were also not citizens of the Empire. Yes, many of them came from Imperial planets which might not be the case with this new one, but during their time in the Rebellion they lived, a lot of the time, outside Imperial spheres of influence. See hidden rebel bases such as Yavin IV and Hoth. Neither of which were actually controlled by the Empire.

Also, your post is riddled with bias toward the Empire being this glorious benevolent government that all of your citizens love. Thats your propaganda, not your reality. Your citizens are not dumb, and I doubt that many of them have such a short memory. I would assume a good portion can see past the charade.

The citizens of the Old Republic, by default, became Imperial citizens. These citizens rebelled inciting a Civil War against what they saw their own government becoming but did not start living on abandoned planets until after their rebellion turned violent.

It's not like they were citizens of Hoth or Yavin and began fighting a "rebellion" against the Empire as is being proposed here.

And yes, the Empire is not benevolent. But after all these years of living inside the Empire, after a failed First Civil War, after the failed New Empire Civil War, after the failed New Republic and failed attacks from governments (and terrorists) claiming to be in their interests they are suddenly going to put their lives and the lives of their families in jeopardy?

Some will, yes. But if the Empire's shown them anything, it's if they stay quiet and make themselves useful they will be left alone (unless of course, you're an alien and then it becomes harder).

But yes, the post was written biased on purpose.

Speaking out against your government is one thing. Inciting Civil War is one thing. But you have to be associated with that government to do either or it's not a civil war. It's not a rebellion. It's merely an attack by an outside power, terrorist or Jedi..er..Jihad.... heh.

I actually brought up the idea of the Imperial Remnant to Dolash in chat, his comment was the length of time it took for them to get back together... heh...

Wes is right, however, I think the Azguards would be the logical "core" of the Rebellion. Simply because we don't know where they are still. The Confederacy could break away and sign an armistice, swearing not to build any offensive weapons any more...

Which they would, of course, break, in order to support the Rebels. ;)

Omnae is right. The Rebellion logically would not be comprised of the average humanoid Joe types who live generally unhindered under Imperial Rule. That was established/assumed even in the movies, and as I remember in the books the planets were very ho-hum about switching allegiences, they mostly just wanted to stay out of trouble. Kind of like, oh you guys occupy the space around us now? Well ok we like you then.

The great thing about a Rebellion, is we don't need those mass populations of Joes. It'd be a ragtag collection of aliens, mercenaries, smugglers, thrill seekers, and those who simply fight for freedom, equality, and democracy because they believe everyone deserves to have it would make up the Rebellion (like Leia was in the first rebellion). And then perhaps others would turn as they saw the Imperial war machine start ravaging supposed Imperial citizens who just want freedom. That will be hard, with propoganda though. Those are the kinds of people we can target within Imperial space without GC falling. Former New Republic worlds can especially be taken advantage of, because we can legitimately claim they remember how nice it was to be free. :p

Obviously, the plot element that would most greatly benefit a forming Rebellion would be for GC to fall, even better if by TNO hands, and for the remaining pieces to come together as the basis of a Rebellion.

And... I don't think Azguards would be the core of the Rebellion... I'd say it'd be more general like, aliens are the core of the rebellion.
