Its not so much GC ICly is against the idea, its that, from my understanding of your plan, we just don't ICly know about you. Plus there is the issue of getting your empire set up feasibly before any such alliance would be considered on the part of GC's leadership.

I'll make it simply:
1 Planet, in 1 system
1 of your dreadnaughts

That is it, until you do more. To get even 1 more planet you need 5000 words. Not hard to do. You can claim some control over other planets in the system, but they don't really affect your empire size until you do 5000 words for each.

And I would theoretically have been willing to help out with getting you another member, but I've got far too many time restraints and commitments already.

The offer of help has been made, let us give him time to accept. We cannot chace the noobs out on a rail simply because they are zealous to participate and belong. I remember five - almost six - years ago when I was new.

Let us each remember that we were new once.

I agree. Nothing wrong with him being motivated, its just he is expecting to get to much to quick and just has to tone it down and take it a step at a time. Start simple and work your way up man, as I am sure everyone here has. If you start with this big empire, then what? Better to roleplay out the development of its creation from its beginning because it not only gives the chance for a lot of storylines, but provides a lot of development for your character.

You need to start at the beginning, not the end.

I will, it's just going to take some time. I intend to tell the history of the Atlantean Empire through my character's eyes, some parts from his own memories of handed-down stories, others as stories he tells his children, and still others as if being read from a computer database. Again, it will just take time. If I can actually get a group section for this, I will put it all in there as separate posts.

No. You can't.

A retrospective creation is not unheard of. It is, however; very difficult. I believe, in all honesty, that you do not have the understanding required to properly intergrate your post-history effort into our current cannon.

Facts:

A Massive Star-Empire would not go unnoticed by our history, at least; not on the scale you seem to invision. This means that you have to work with the current community to create that cohesion with others, you cannot simply try and Copy & Paste your dream onto TRF without regard for what those before you have done.

You are a Noobie. A brand new member. Past examples have proven that new members who take on the responsibility of a whole faction usually fail and that failure detracts from the community as a whole. Exceptions have been made, but none on the scale you seem to invision. Ever.

I do not believe, at the current time, you have the ability or skill to see this through without significant help. This help has been offered but, in my opinion, you seem to be absorbing exactly none of it. I do believe you have the earmarks of a godmoder and that inspires some considerable trepidation in me, if not the rest of the community. I do believe you need to cease all efforts on the Atlantean front for the forseeable future. When you can come back to this thread and, in re-reading it, go "Oh my god, I get it now," then, in my opinion, you may be ready to consider revitalizing your Atlantean dream.

However, given that as I observed above, you have an inability to take in any of what I am putting down; I assume you will continue your reckless abandon without any consideration for the fact that you have been dissuaded and warned by the majority of the community.

I say again, Good Luck.

Oh, I know I can't "Copy and Paste" this empire into existence. In the book I am writing with a friend (which is non-SW), the Atlantean Empire never shrank. In order to integrate it without causing too many historical difficulties, I had the Empire shrink as other younger races began to emerge. The Atlantean Empire never actually occupied many worlds, and when they did, they used modular structures that could be easily moved if necessary, then they simply left as the species began to explore. For the most part, the Atlanteans have been content to remain invisible to other cultures, reaching out only when they deem a culture is ready for contact with a much older race. I am making every effort to adapt their history into the SW universe (it's actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be). This is an endeavor I would like to continue, but I am going to need help in streamlining the integration process. What I need are suggestions, not "don't do this or don't do that," but rather "this is good, but this . . . causing some problems."

I have an excellent idea for which you could RP your Atlantean Empire into the TRF timeline without too many problems. Here is the gist of it:

There was, once upon a time, a galatic spanning organization working behind the scenes, called the great Atlantean Empire, that was waiting to make it's move for Galatic Conquest. However, before their plans could come to fruition, a mutated form of the deadly Wrath virus exterminated almost their entire populace, leaving the survivors with no memories of their lost empire. Now, as they emerge from the Unknown regions into a suddenly foreign galaxy, they must learn to survive. And in doing so, uncover the truth about their past, and rebuild their once mighty empire.

Or something along those lines.
