Im sure your familiar with occam's razor, the simplier, therefore more proveable solution is that it doesnt say anything about a EM shielding element, therefore there are none.
Crusade: Desolation of the Dragon (BDE/Almania System):OOC
Note that Occams razor does not always apply to fictional space age technology when a short answer is rarely ever the complete answer for alien techs.
Again, it says nothing about it, so assuming it might appears merely to me to be a hope of yours that you might stop my weapon from operating. Therefore I submit to you that this is the best way with which to prevent the argument at all.
Unless of course you can prove that it does...
otherwise, Id start typing that post

I gave mine already.
Disprove it then or wait for staff.
Since you cannot disprove me and disaggree with me, so we wait for staff.

Turbolasers are not pure light, the technical commentaries on TF.net give proof that the light of a turbolaser is an after-effect of the actual laser.
Thus far, the only way to stop an electromagnetic field is using a magnetic alloy of some sort to cover objects, or of course grounded wires and such.
No where does it say an electromagnetic field cancels out an electromagnetic field. As such you have yet to have proven that any of your devices produce an electromagnetic field of their own...
EDIT: Kas, thank you for that enlightenment, but if you could make either a more immediate ruling on the subject or discuss whats already been said for the benifit of both of us and the continuation, ehem, or starting, of said thread...

Electromagnetic shields produce electromagnetic radiation.
Microwaves are the weakest form of electromagnetic radiation and cannot penetrate another concentrated EM field that generates levels of magnetism greater or equal to microwave energy.
“No. There is a very important difference. As illustrated by the frequency spectrum on the right, microwaves used in microwave ovens, similar to microwaves used in radar equipment, and telephone, television and radio communication, are in the non-ionizing range of electromagnetic radiation. Non-ionizing radiation is very different from Ionizing radiation . Ionizing radiation is extraordinarily high in frequency (millions of trillions of cycles per second).”
TV, radio waves, and microwaves cannot penetrate a strong EM energy field.
Strong electromagnetic fields repulse radio and tv waves. This is the reason that Cell phones do not work close to strong magnets, near powerlines, or around large deposits of magnetic rocks. The same is true with radios and television signals.
Just in terms of mediums. Ion shields protect against Ionized energy, Photonic shields deal with solid matter, ray shielding deals with energy from the EM spectrum as well as energy weaponry.
Something with a strong magnetic charge cannot be penetrated by Microwave energy.
Cosmic rays bend around the magnetic field of the earth. As further proof.
EM fields cannot be curcumvented by an aspect of the EM spectrum the energy can either bend around an EM field. A powerful one may overtake (or overload) another artificially generated field. But otherwise they cannot penitrate one another.
the spectrum goes in this order from longest to shortest
Radio Waves
Microwaves
Infrared
Visible Light
Ultraviolet
X-Rays
Gamma Rays

Please show me where your vessels are equiped with electromagnetic shields.
and also show me where ray shielding deals with the EM spectrum.
'Twas commenting, I saw a phrase about shields deflecting light...
Anyway, Gue's Microwave beam thingermabob was designed and approved with the capability to penetrate ray shields. Regardless of what techno-babble comes out here, based upon real physics or not, the tech was solely designed to skip standard ray shields.
Now, particle shields could be different. I read the R&D, and this is the relevant part:
I take that to mean, the widebrim angle disregards shields that are not designed to withstand solar radiation, which particle shields are designed to do... or is it Ray shields that protect from solar radiation? I don't recall whether or not shields are raised when a craft gets too close to a sun.

Your own post. Em fields are part of the ray shields. If they deal with light then that means the fields also repell radiation in the electromagnetic spectrim.
It would be better to call them energy sheilds becuase the fact that they repell light with ultra violet light and EM fields also means that they can also repell electromagnetic radiation.

Basic, meaning that most ships including my own canon vessels are equiped with such systems.
Two types of shields both electromagnetic shields that would repell radiation from the electromagnetic spectrum when in use.
