The shuttle skipped along the atmosphere of the planet as it slowly made it's descent onto the battle field below. On both sides of the shuttle where two x-wing's, the two fighers soon peeled off once the shuttle got through the worst of the entry.

"Hand on!" Lavality yelled as she banked the shuttle to the right, narrowly avoiding a missile that had been launched from the surface. "Damn it..." she said to herself as she pulled the shuttle's nose up, but something caught the back side and slipped the shuttle end over end. Her back was against the chair as the G force's continued to push against her body, after several second's she finally managed to straighten the shuttle out.

Of couse, she then realized that they where missing something very important. "Ummmm... shit..." she said as she noticed one of the wing's was completely gone. Why the hell do these things always happen to me.... she wondered to herself as she fought the control's, but she was having a very difficult time trying to keep the craft steady.

She hit the reverse thrusters to slow there descent and noticed that she was slowing down a bit, but it wasn't enough to soften the landing. When the shuttle did hit the ground it slid across the rocky terrain, sheering off the last wing which did a barrel roll in the air before slamming into the ground upright.

The shuttle itself just kept on going on for a few minutes until it finally came to a stop, the wet ground assissted the shuttle by not destroying it upon contact. "Well... any landing you can walk away from.. is a good one..." Lavality said as she rubbed her forehead.

She undid her belt and got up. "Everyone ok back there?" She yelled at Trazu and Asri.

The pair took a moment to check themselves before making any sudden movements. Once satisfied with there physical well-being they unbuckled themselves and, somewhat shakely, got out of their seats.

"Going to have some interesting bruises by the end of the day but otherwise we are alright." Asri replied.

"I'm more concerned with who saw us crash." Trazu mumbled. "We best get away from the crash site as fast as possible."

Lavality couldn't agree more, she walked over to the hatch and pulled the release lever which blew the hatch right off, or rather it was suppose to blow it off, but apperently a nice big rock was wedged between it and the door. "Well thats just great." Lavality said

She searched the shuttle before finding another escape route, she opened that hatch and jumped down onto the wet ground below. "It's safe." she called back up to the two inside. She surveyed the area and noticed no one was around. Odd... the area we crashed in was suppose to be a mine field, but there are no mine's on the sensor scanner she said while looking at her scanners.

The pair climbed out and looked around, boht having a look of concern on their faces.

"Where are we?" Asri asked.

"Not sure, definately not where we planned on landing." Trazu replied. His ranger abilities kicking in he survyed their surroundings more closely.

The area was dotted with countless rain puddles and the ground itself somewhat muddy. The air was thick with humidity and the clouds looked to be threatening to dump more rain in their area. "Unless it starts raining again I suggest we move in single file. This mud..." He explained. "Makes for very easy tracking."

"Ok, but we need a place...a direction at least...to head in." Asri said.

"We need to approximate how far away we ended up from our intended landing point first." Trazu said. "But first, we should get to some cover." He pointed out a bunch of rocks that were to the south of them. "And regroup."

"Hopefully we don't encounter any problems on the way." Asri said. "Are you able to sense any defences Trazu?"

"I can try, but my 'area mapping' talent is better at detecting living things, not inanimate objects." At that he closed his eyes and went into his Force vision mode.

He could see Lavality clearly in the grey hued misty landscape, her mist shape a very pale grey. Asri was a bit harder to see, likely due to her part metalic nature, but she was still paler then the landscape around them. The ruined ship behind them was just a mass of grey that was the same hue as the landscape.

Then he started his search for anything unusual on the path toward their goal. At first he couldn't see anything, but then he noticed slight 'distrubances' in the ground. The more he looked the more he saw, dotted all around them. They would have been more obvious if it hadn't recently rained.

"I think there's a lot of things in the ground all around us." He anounced finally. "Could be mines, or the resualt of someone removing a lot of mines. I can't tell either way. Skrag it could even be local wildlife for all I know."

Lavality nodded and stepped lightly over the ground, her foot slipping every now and then but not enough to cause her to fall into the mud. It took some time before they got to a field of rocks that was at the edge of the muddy field, there Lavality checked the terrain scanner and cursed. "Well... if the map is right... we are roughly three miles off course. The base is to the east of us." she pointed behind her. "However, we may have already been spotted. According to the map there was suppose to be-" she said this just as a blaster bolt slammed into the rock next to her, she instantly ducked in response.

Blaster fire poured over a hill as six enemy soldiers ran over it.... heading right into the mine field.

Trazu and Asri ducked behind the rocks as well, cursing their luck.
"Can’t you use your lightsaber?" Asri said to him.

"I could, but I’m not proficient enough with it to reflect bolts right back at them." He said. "And for blocking their shots…these rocks do just fine."

"Well we can’t just sit here."

"I know that. But you know…I wonder…do they know there’s supposed to be a mind field here?"

Trazu had a point. When they crossed it they made sure to step lightly, Trazu using his Force vision to ensure no one stepped on one of the suspected ‘mines’. With the recent rain the ground would have been packed down on top of the mines, making it harder for the mines to go off.

However, those guys were running at full kilt toward them, with armor and other equipment on.

The suspense was broken when there was a loud boom, followed by a couple more. Brief screams reached their ears and debris rained down around them. They listened hard for a moment, wondering if there were any patrolmen left alive: they heard nothing and a quick check via the Force confirmed all six enemies were down, some in various pieces.

"Well…." Trazu muttered. "Either they forgot a couple of mines when they removed them or those guys didn’t bother to check their maps for mine fields. Idiots."

Asri was having a hard time not to laugh. "Looks like Miknak has problems hiring ‘intelligent’ help." She said with a grin.

"Indeed, we best get a move on though." Trazu said as he cautiously stood up. "Those explosions will bring others to this area for sure." Above them the sky broke open and heavy rain began to fall, drenching all three of them. "This…will cover our tracks.

Lavality sighed. "And get us all wet in the process." she said as they made there way across the ground.

While walking she checked the scanners and also listened in on the combat traffic, there was a lot already going on at the front of Miknak's base. While the majority of the heavy armor couldn't be brought in due to the heavy rains, worse, the weather was creating havoc with the air power so there fighter's couldn't come in for any bombing runs either.

"This will be interesting, no air power, very limited armor, man. Talk about an assault.." Lavality said to herself as they made it over a hill, she stopped briefly to wipe the water from her eyes before continueing.

Sl'askia Said:

Trazu took up the rear as they traveled, using the Force to search for any signs of persuit from behind and danger in the front. In front of him he noticed Asri frequently rubbing her eyes, the rain wreaking havoc with her sight. If he remembered correctly, she didn't see in infravision like all other Trandoshans in areas with limited light, but saw things as a tusk cat would. With the heavy rain there was less contrast for her to determine objects and people, so was at a disadvantage.
After about an hour the rain lightened up considerably and Trazu had everyone walk in single file. He advised them to walk through any puddles they came across, which Lavality didn't like at all, and he used the Force to obliterate any tracks they made between puddles that were fair close together. Because of this he was more distracted, but since the rain had lessened Asri was able to see more clearly and kept her keen eyes alert for trouble on the horizon. It was she that spotted the first signs of trouble since the patrol at the crash site.

"We must be getting close to the base." Asri said as she pulled everyone behind some cover. "I see what I believe is a watch tower up ahead."

Trazu 'looked' ahead with the Force and nodded in agreement. "This will be the tricky part." He said. "Depending on how vigualent they are. With the battle going on they will be keeping a good watch I would think."

"And we can't risk radioing any forces in the area, our bombers might accidently get the coordinates wrong and drop there bombs on the wrong targets." Lavality said as she peered down the binoculars. "Of course, you could throw a jedi mind trick at them and make them think that something is approuching from the other-" she said before hearing something, she dropped down behind the cover of the bushs.

On the other side a patrol walked right up to the bushes, but apperently didn't see them. "I wonder how our forces are doing?" one of the patrolman said

"Don't know, but I hear that bitch has thrown everything she has into this assault." Another one said

Lavality's hand curled up into a fist, she wanted to sock him one but knew better.

The other patrolman unzipped his fly and walked over to a tree to relieve himself. A very evil and mischivious grin formed on her face as she picked up a scorpion that was hiding out from under the rock. She put it in a cloth and, waiting until the guards where looking away, gentally tossed it over to where the patrolman was.

She watched as the scorpion, who was now pissed after being disturbed, got out of the cloth and up toward the tree.

The next thing they heard was very loud yelp as the scorpion obiously didn't appriciate being assault, for lack of a better word. The other patrolman ran over to there comrade and saw the scorpion handing on for dear life. "Damn it get it off!" the patrolman yelled.

Lavality covered her mouth with her hand in an effort to suppress a laugh. After a few minute's the scorpion released it's claw and ran off into a small hole in the tree. "Geez....." the patrolman who had just been assault said as he walked off back toward the base, his comrades following him.

"Teach you to call me a bitch...." Lavality snarled as she watched the guard tower. A few of the guards inside came down to see what the commotion was about, and instead decided to follow there fellow comrades into the base, leaving only one guard in the guard tower. "Hmmmm... three less to worry about." She grinned.

Slaskia says:

It had been hard not to laugh that the stunt Lavality pulled, but allowed themselves a few chuckles after the patrolmen had returned to base. Why two of the watch tower guards would join them was beyond reason, but Trazu intended to use that opportunity. How to use it though….?
He was too far away to do a mind trick and with the lack of cover between their hiding spot and the tower it wouldn’t have been feasible anyway.

Using the Force to make the tower itself fall would draw too much attention.

Knocking out the guard before he alerted the base was the only solution.

It will have to be done from a distance. He concluded. Not enough cover to use for one of us to sneak up to the tower.

With one hand he picked up a good sized rock. Beside him Asri noticed this and quickly figured out what he was planning to do. "Hope he doesn’t have a helmet on." She commented.

Trazu only responded with a grunt, pulling a second rock beside him just in case. He tested the rock he currently held, lifting it with the Force to get familiar with it. "When I say ‘go’, run for the base." He said.

Then he watched the guard, again using the Force to ‘look’ closer and waited for the guard to turn toward them. His chance came a moment later and he willed the rock via the Force to shoot toward the man at incredible speed.

His aim was true, the guard suddenly falling over backwards in the tower.

"Go!" He said as he scampered out of their hiding place and bolted for the base, Asri right behind him.

Just as they were about to reach the base, blaster fire from above started raining down upon the base itself. "What the skrag!?" Trazu yelled as one blast struck the watch tower, causing it to fall over and nearly hit them.

He knew they had to get inside the base, or a bunker, anything that would protect them from the bombardment. There were cargo containers nearby, but he doubted they would protect them.
