OOC: Sorry, I have no storyline to write here, so I'm just going to move this up a bit and get to the real purpose of this whole thing.
IC: Several hours later on way back to Naboo....
Amalia sat quiet for the most part for the trip back home, she was still trying to gather her thoughts about her. All three Jedi had been rather quiet actually, but that was ok, given all that had gone on during the day.
Amalia had finally come to peace with what she had been facing ever since she had left the council room.
ooc: Hmm, this may be out of place for me with Leia not here, but I have to work with what I have, and I'd rather not play her part, so I'm just going to have to do the best I can here.
ic: Amalia had talked some with Leia about the idea of promoting Kahn, but in the end, Amalia knew it would ultimately be her choice to make. After all, she was his teacher, and if anyone should make the choice, it should be here.
So finally, after their shuttle had settled into Naboo's atmosphere, Amalia spoke.
"Kahn, there is something I'd like to discuss with you.."

OOC: It's fine by me. :)
IC:
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The Jedi Knight had been staring out the spaceport window, watching as the galaxy sped past them. He wasn't really focusing on what he was seeing though; no, his mind was thinking silently. Kahn had killed very few in his time as a Force user; even as a Sith, he had been too young to make any kills. Thusly, he had a good deal of distance to go before he grew used to the idea of taking another's life. The sniper's body still lingered in his thoughts, although he knew that it had been the only way. No Jedi enjoyed taking a life, however, and the Knight was in silent mourning.
When the shuttle jerked slightly, he realized they had entered Naboo's atmosphere. Home again. Amalia's words brought him out of his thoughts, and he turned his gaze to her now.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
"Of course, Master. What is it you wish to discuss?"

Amalia smiled at the Knight, she knew exactly what she wanted to say, but she was just unsure of how to say it.
"Kahn...You know how proud I am of you. I'm sure today was a new experience for you..."
Amalia's eyes shifted slightly, uncomfortable with the topic of death. Though she did not directly mention death, she knew Kahn understood what she was refering to.
"...also a rather difficult experience. You must know, that what happened today, it is nothing knew in the life of a Jedi. At some point in time, the same situation will be brought forth to you again, and you must do what you have to do, regardless of the consequences. Needless to say, sitautions will not become easier, perhaps harder to deal with than what you found yourself dealing with today."
Her attention was completely focused on Kahn, she still struggled with her words, wanting to say what she needed to say so carefully and thoughtfully.
"What I am trying to tell you Kahn is....I feel that you handled yourself extremely well today. You did what you had to do, and you did it without my help. Your confidence and your strength has never been so strong as it has today, and it has carried you through many other times."
She smiled briefly before continuing on.
"I'm sure you remember where you found me early this morning. I'm also sure..."
Amalia found herself blushing slightly.
"...that you saw my feelings that I tried to remain hidden from you as you greeted me in the councul room this morning. I'm sure you saw the small amount of uncertainty that was edged upon my face, and I ask that you forgive me for that. Uncertainty will also find its way to you too, not just once, but many times, and you will struggle with that uncertainty, just as I did today."
Amalia took a long pause, a softness seemed to find its way onto her face.
"What was I uncertain of...I'm sure you wonder, and I feel that I must tell you because my uncertainty rested with you. However, you must know, that I am uncertain no more, the days events have turned my uncertainty all around."
It was then that the Jedi Master looked upon her apprentice, whom she had spent many a great years teaching and bonding with, that her brown eyes connected with his blue eyes. The look she gave him was of something that could not be described, it was a look that held many meaningful emotions.
"I have dreamed of one day uttering these words, and it is with great pride and honor that I say these words to you, Kahn. I have waited for this day, and it has finally come for me, as I knew it would. What I am about to say to you, and give to you, it will be the first time I've ever spoken such words, but it will not be the last time. However each time I say these words, they will always be special to me, and I will always remember them...My words perhaps right now though, mean a great deal more to me because you will be the first to ever hear me speak such words...Never have a been more certain to say this now."
She paused yet again, just to note the look upon her apprentice's face and then continued.
"So it is with great honor and pride that I bestow upon you, the rank of Jedi Master. Congratulations, my Apprentice."

The young man had been listening silently to Amalia as she spoke. In the beginning, he had not been entirely sure where she was going with the topic. However, as more words spilled out of her mouth, he began to connect them. Even so, it wasn't until she actually spoke it aloud that he allowed himself to believe it fully.
The rank of Jedi Master was one of the highest a Jedi could attain. It was reserved only for those who had shown great wisdom, strength, and affinity with the Force. To be bestowed with such a title was the greatest of honors for Kahn to recieve.
He was silent for a few moments, letting it sink in. He did not doubt her judgement, nor his own. It was simply that he had never contemplated an ascension in rank. Kahn had been content as a Knight. After all, titles were not everything. They were merely words, gestures. A Padawan with the skill of a Knight was still worth more than a Knight who was still acting as though they were a Padawan.
Inclining his head in as much of a bow as he could while sitting, the new Jedi Master's tone was solemn when he answered.
"I am honored to recieve such a title, Master. I will do everything I can to ensure that you have not bestowed me with this rank in vain."
That said, his facial expression now broke into a wide grin.
"Thank you, Master!"

Amalia too broke into a grin.
'You're very welcome, Jedi Master, Kahn..."
Her face suddenly went serious.
"You do realize that your life will now cease to exist now that you've become a Jedi Master, right? Ah, yes, and you also owe me you're soul, it's the price you must pay for becoming a Jedi Master.."
Amalia's grin returned, and she laughed. Amalia was never one to have a good sense of humor, but that did not stop her from kidding around.
"In all seriousness, it will not become easier from here on out, only more challenging, but I know you will be able to handle it. What will come your way will be growth, a better sense of understanding, knowledge, these are the things you get to look forward to, along with many other numerious things."
