Im not darting past anything.

From beginning to to the end of the engagement my maneuvers were as follows:

Broad Detla -initial formation (reserves deployed at the edge of the system)

Move to line ahead - continuing to Tynna itself (reserves moving forward, out of range)

Line ahead - full turn 90 degrees to port. Turn based on the end (heavily damaged cruiser)-next cruisers rotates and moves up so its aft is 500m from the bow of the Kolath. RSD ahead of it and forward - a diagonal line. with flanks to the planet and into space facing my reserves. The reserves have arrived. (4 ISDs)

Also - the only of shiis ships were destroyed were the three that faced a total barrage and were already heavily damaged pre-pulse shielding.

I will of course agree with Ahnk's decision (for it is by the acceptance of an authority to judge that the game moves forwards) and edit as appropriate. Since I don't qualify my ships as 'heavily damaged' any more then I qualify your ships as 'stone dead', I will be taking those three as 'heavily damaged' now, instead.

Note that a recent illness has afflicted me (damn your contagion, Omnae!) so my actual ability to write might be somewhat hindered.

Nah, I'm fine, if school won't let me off then you guys shouldn't have to :p.

Anyways, my edit has made some serious changes to how the battle played out that post, taking into acount the rulings, so your post doesn't completely reflect the current state of the battle. It's probably necessary to make some changes or additions.

...Telan, three posts ago you agreed that you had passed his fleet to get to the planet, yet now you argue it?

You just really like to cause me shit, don't you?

what? I said my van had passed his ships. Do you people know naval terminology? The van of my ships - and that was before the maneuver into line ahead. When we passed them it was switched into line ahead then he attacked the aft - hence the marg sbal m,aneuver and the pushing of his ships beyond the range of my broadsides.

Why is it when I think of this thread I get a headache???

Reading that last reply gave me a headache :D.

Telan, you're taking it too seriously, man. As am I, at times, but I'm just cranky when I am denied delicious brownies because of the fear that I might cough phlegm on them. This OOC debating isn't regrettable, it's a necessary part of The Rebel Faction - only through careful explination of our ideas, shorn clear of literary exageration or fanciful character dialogues - can we understand and fully appreciate each other's strategies, and have our disagreements mediated.

If you thought you could just fly in, declare Imperial Discipline, and the coalition would explode in fear, you were wrong - instead, we fight it out, as equals, as Men! (well, as man and alien respectively) and as such, you will be trying to outwit me, I will be trying to outwit you, we both learn from the experience, but sometimes we need it to be mediated. People don't like to admit they've been outwitted, and sometimes just can't see it, so it helps to have someone who can say 'yes and no' so we can proccede.

This battle has, on a strategic level, evolved more then any fight I've been in yet, and my fighting strategy is - I admit - one that would irritaite the old hounds of the Empire who fight with cannonades and fancy admiral hats, since it involves a lot of going VERY QUICKLY all over the place, and sometimes seemingly at random. If I think what I've done ammounts to me outmaneauvering you, and you think what I've done ammounts to me flying in circles while you blast me out of the sky, it is VITAL that we have someone who can unbiasedly read both of our writing and say "Yes, this happens." No need to get upset about it.

P.S. I don't know what you were saying in your reply, was it that only the vanguard of your ships are the only ones in firing range of the planet? If so, since they're not destroyers they'd have to be pretty damn close to be firing on the planet - running into the shields close. If it is indeed the destroyers who are close enough to fire, they must be pretty close, and you keep saying they're moving forwards, so since the shield came up, I just kind of assumed you'd want to move out of the way.
