As An FYI, Mr./Ms. Drayson

Joren, you did have a say in the matter. It's your character. Now that it's done, however, it would be best to roleplay along with TNO, instead of against them, to facilitate your escape.

So the capture was then illegitimate? Instead of going on all that, why don't we simply just say that Ralen can rescue me now since the capture wasn't even technically legal in the first place?

No, Joren. The capture was no "illegitimate". You failed to respond to or contest the actions leading to your capture.

Your fault.

Question, out of curiousity then, supposing you said you were going to kill my char and I did not contest or respond to it because of RL issues or OOC issues.

Would you then be allowed to kill my character?

It's not against the rules to take someone's character into captivity.

Bad example.

No, he would not.

Under no circumstances would that be allowed.

A capture however is a slightly more shady issue. As cheap as it may be, it wasn't technically illegitimate. Had you complained, and they had said too bad, it would be another issue.

If you wish to be freed, you know how to get in touch with TNO, and I have made an offer to contact them on your behalf if you so desire.

But now that you're captured I am not going to go back and uncapture. I am more in the vein of righting a wrong then going back and telling the wrong that it never happened and no one wants it, sending it off to go on his computer where he has no friends because he is a wrong, and everyone else is right.

:(

:(

Sorry, what was I saying again?

Oh yeah, talk to TNO.

Offical ruling still stands.

He consented to be captured by TNO. He and TNO agreed that from his place of capture, he was moved to an undisclosed location.

That is where he will stay.

By all means, TNO may drop hints that he may be on Commenor, or Bastion, or Dellalt, and Ralen may continue to roleplay chasing him. He may continue to find hints and rumors and nothing, a slight paper trail leading to another world. It makes sense that such a high-profile prisoner would be on a mobile prison. Likely a ship.

The point is... this...

My Ruling: Neither side may say where Joren is. For this, they require Joren's consent. Once he returns he and TNO may agree where he is, and the roleplay of him being freed may continue, and conclude. Until that time, any roleplay attempting to find him, or to free him, cannot end in his release, his death, his maiming, or anything that would require his consent, recognizing Joren as a player character and respecting that status in his absense.

These are my rulings. If you wish to dispute them, you may do privately. My AIM address has been listed, and I would like to consider this matter as an issue of public discussion closed.

Joren, you did have a say in the matter. It's your character.

Ahnk seems to disagree with that little assessment. It seems taking me without consent IS against the rules as it falls under the "altering" or "changing" of the character rule.

Therefore, good example.

In that case, Drayson I'll drop you a PM, I want to get this resolved and out of the way.
  • Posted On: Dec 31 2003 3:57am
Y'know, Drayson, I am online, you and I could resolve this right now.

And Ahnk, I don't think he was saying uncapture him, I think he was saying that since he could not consent the capture, why doesn't he instead choose where the character is at?

Well scratch that idea, lol, I had to sign off before he ever signed on.

The best bet is still to iron it out without TNO, to prevent further arguement.

That is the point, right?

Right.

I'm so smart.
