"Well come on then, no use in making you starve to death."
She did not bother to wait for his response as she trotted off to the direction of the café, turning her gaze to him just once as she called after him.
"I'll keep you to your word, Katarn."
He would make it up to the girl, though neither would be aware of that until sometime later; when the wanderer completed his journey...

With a quiet smile, Kenshin started after Alair.

Entering the café first, Alair took it upon herself to find a table suitable for two people. It was not long after she made her way to a free table that Kenshin entered. She had chosen a table close to the door.
"Hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of finding a table for us. If you don't like this table we could always sit somewhere else?"
She handed him a menu to look over as he debated a moment over their seating spot.

Kenshin gave the table a thoughtful pause before sitting down opposite of Alair and taking the menu that was handed to him.
"It's been awhile since I've sat at a table in a restaurant or even talked with someone. It feels comforting and intmidating at the same time..."
He gave the menu in his hands a blank gaze before setting it down on the table.
"As for food, any suggestions? Haven't been around this much food for awhile either..."
Kenshin gave a slightly embarrassed grin as he flipped through the listings.

Alair's mouth drew to a diminutive frown as she looked away from Kenshin to glimpse onto the menu.
"Um, well.. Let's see... There's finger foods, soups, fruit, foodstuffs, all kinds of things, really. What are you hungry for? I think I am going to have Gukked Eggs, not really ready for lunch yet. There are all kinds of pastries.."
She shrugged as she centered her gaze back on him.
"Too many choices, and I don't know what half of these things are. You name it though, and I am sure they probably have it on this menu somewhere."

"If that's the case..."
Giving a slightly far off look out the window, Kenshin digs up some memories of food.
"Hmm...Sliders."
It was simple and cheap food, but it was good food and fuel was all he needed right now so it would do.

"Never heard of that," she said, her brown eyes falling to the menu yet again.
A look of frustration drew lightly to her brow as she desperately searched for something called a slider, coming up with nothing after several moments.
"What does it... look like?"
Feeling somewhat embarrassed over the fact that she could not help Kenshin find the meal he was set on having, Alair practically avoided his gaze as her eyes glued themselves onto the menu.

Kenshin gave a quiet laugh and got up.
"How 'bout I show you? It's probably a little weird to borrow a restaurant's kitchen, but it should be okay. I suppose you only have to pay for the materials now. It should only take twenty minutes at most."
Grinning, he walked into the kitchen and spoke with the cook. At first the chef seemed a bit skeptical allowing someone else in his 'domain', but Kenshin promised him it wouldn't take long.
Fifteen minutes later, Kenshin reappeared with a steaming hot dish and set it on the table. It basically just was a portion of rice and a side of what seemed to be chopped up meat and veggies with a spicy gravy.
"You can have a taste if you want."
Kenshin beamed as he sniffed at the food. It has been awhile since he had made sliders. It was basically something made out of leftovers.

Alair took one look at the dish that sat before Kenshin, though most of what was in the dish looked good enough to eat, seeing it combined altogether did not appeal to the woman all that much.
She gave a somewhat incredulous look at the dish, slowly shaking her head no.
"No thank you, I'm sure it taste good though," her face lighting up just after a moment, hoping that Kenshin would enjoy the meal.
While Kenshin had been away preparing his own meal, Alair ordered her own meal. Inspecting her own meal, which looked far more unappealing than Kenshin's meal, the brunette contemptuously jabbed at her eggs with her utensil. However, she soon found out, after a little coaxing of her own, that looks didn't always make the meal appealing. She took a minuscule bite of her eggs, finding that they tasted better than they looked.
Giving a satisfactory nod toward the other, she began to speak again.
"How is your meal?"

Kenshin smiled as he looked up from his plate.
"Good. The food awakens dormant memories..."
He gave a half dazed look as he poked at his plate with his fork. Catching himself drifting off again, he flashes an apologetic smile and returns to eating.
