Shadows Past (Blackblade only)

The door to her quarters hissed open and she stood there for a moment, the anger seething from her. This had gone far enough. Bounty or no bounty, it was going to end.

Burrying everything she once felt about the man deep inside her she moved quickly and grabbed the scalp-hunter from its mount on the wall. Light and compact, the blaster was a slow and painful way to die, or so she had witnessed the few times she had actually used it.

Kami spun around, stepping out the hatch and firing the weapon down the narrow corridor straight at Dak.

Completely startled by the attack, Dak rolled to the side, the blaster impacting the back of the seat on which he was sitting. Any higher and it would have hit the ships control panels.

Galvanised into action, he force sped down the corridor, a blur of speed. As he reached Kami, his left arm smacked the rifle from her hand, his right following through in a palm strike, sending the woman falling back from the force of his blow.

As she fell he was on her, pinning her arms to the ground with his knees.

Kami strained against his hold, but unable to break herself free. She growled up at him, snapping her teeth at him like a wild animal. " I'm not finished yet, Blackblade."

She brought her knees up quickly, driving them in his lower back and pushing him forward. Unbalanced she was able to push up with her hips and throw him over her head in a move he had taught her himself.

In the cramped quarters he hit against the side of the bed, and in the instant his weight was off her she was scrambling for her weapon.

As her hand grabbed at the weapon Daks hand was out, the weapon careening into the other room. Seconds later Dakkon was up, his sabre out.

"Care to test me Korosu?"

All the fight seemed to flee from her as she stared at the glowing saber and she sat with her back against the bulkhead, defeated. " Kane a bar, Jeedai! Yadag dahl, ignot!"

The language in which she spoke, spoke volumes - even more so that the words actually spoken. At least to someone who knew the smooth, flowing langauge.

Kami turned her head away from Dak and sighed, wishing to whatever gods would listen that she had never accepted the Hunt.

Dakkon cocked his head to listen, the sabre swirling to the side as he deactivated it and whirled it back into his belt.

"That langauge, i think i recognise it.

What is it?"

Kami tilted her head toward Dak and sneered. " You've been in my mind, you know my nightmares. Do the math, Jeedai."

"Vong..."

What else could it be? They were what had caused her so much trouble back at their postings in the Mobile Infantry.

"I'm sorry..."

" Whatever," she got to her feet and folded her arms over her chest trying to hide the shaking of her hands.

" Just do what you have to do. Bind me, lock me up, jetison me out the airlock, whatever you're going to to do me Blackblade, just get it over with will you? You owe me that much."

He frowned, flopping back on the bed.

"I'm not going to do anything to you Korosu..."
