Exploration of Ambria (Kenshin only)

Ky-Vin took that as a yes. They moved over to one of the walls of the ravine, away from the small trickle of a stream that flowed down its center.

Ky-Vin unpacked the things they'd need. He'd brought two lightweight all-weather sleeping bags. They probably didn't need them, but it was better than sleeping right on the ground.
He also had brought a small cell-powered lantern, so he turned it on and set it down on a nearby rock.

Then Ky-Vin took out some of their food and their water canteen. He took a drink and passed it to Kenshin.

OOC: Hey, Ky-Vin. Got some good new for you. You're now a knight at the TJR. Congrats! ;) I got promoted there too.

IC:

After exploring their campsite a bit, Kenshin sat down beside Ky-Vin near the lantern. He took the canteen that was offered to him and took a sip before setting it down beside them.

OOC: Get out of here! I'll go check it out.

Ky-Vin passed Kenshin some of their rations and starting eating his portion. Normally he wouldn't have enjoyed it, but when you're hungry, everything tastes good.

It was good that their attentions were diverted. Because they could steel feel that negative presence somewhere nearby.

"So tell me about yourself, Kenshin. When did decide you wanted to become a Jedi Knight?" he asked pleasantly.

Kenshin took his portion and began eating. He wasn't a picky eater and could probably eat anything edible so he dug in without much of a problem.

He thought about Ky-Vin's question as he chewed. He spoke after swallowing.

"Hmm. Well, there are the legends of course and the Jedi in the family line but as I got more into the Jedi ways I found that the job fit me. With my personality and philosophy, it was easy for me to adapt to the Jedi Code. Using the Force as your ally is cool too."

Kenshin grinned and took another bite.

"Hmm. Why did you become a Jedi?"

Ky-Vin nodded and hesitated.
"Ever since I started feeling the presence of the Force, I've felt like it was my destiny or something."
He paused.
"Even when my first Master died, I couldn't get away from it. But it's a good feeling. I want to help others and teach them about the Force too."

Ky-Vin asked Kenshin another question: "Tell me about your first Master, Master Wade, if it's okay."

Kenshin looked up at the horizon in thought as he gathered his memories of Master Wade. It seemed like yesterday he stepped into the Academy and met the Jedi Knight but it was years ago.

"Hmm. Well first of all, he didn't have the rank of Master, he was still a Knight. But even though a Master offered to train me, I turned her down in favor of him because there was something about him that made me feel like this was the kind of man I was going to be.

He was a rugged man, with windblown brown hair and a well kept beard. He was quiet, the kind that would observe before speaking, though he talked to me much.

He always looked out for me, and told me that I was so like him but yet so different. When he left, he told me to seek out the best Masters of the Academy to complete my training because he said that they had the most to offer."

Kenshin chuckled as he remembered their last conversation.

"He also told me if I got his Master, Leia, to not to lose faith because she could be harsh. That phrase has kept me going for that promotion all this time. He knew I was ready and knew he probably wasn't going to be able to see me Knighted. Well, I do it for him as well as myself now."

Ky-Vin smiled. He could see how much Kenshin's first Master had meant to him. It made him think about his own past, and the choices he had made, about where he was now, and where he was going to end up.

Ky-Vin understood Kenshin better. "Your Master was right, you know. You're a good man, Kenshin. I'm proud to know you, and in my eyes, you really are a Jedi Knight already."
He smiled.

Kenshin gave a bright smile.

"Thanks. I just hope the Council sees what you and Master Wade see.

He then turned to Ky-Vin and grinned.

"I'm sure you'd make a great knight someday too. You have all the traits, all you need is a brush up on the mechanics. Get the feel on how to use the Force back.

So what was your first Master like?"

It was only fair to ask the same question back. Besides, he was bored and curious.

Ky-Vin laughed. "Yes I hope so."
Then he considered Kenshin's question.
He had been thinking about his old Master alot lately.
"My first Master was a bit of a rebel, I suppose. He went his own way and walked his own path. He taught me that Jedi serve the Will of the Force, first and foremost. I guess it rubbed off on me."
He laughed a little bit again.

Kenshin thought about that phrase. 'The Will of the Force' He decided to see what Ky-Vin thought about it.

"Do you think the Force has a will? Or is it something the Jedi just teach the padawans to get them to respect the Force? Not that I don't respect it, I just have my own way of doing so."
