Endgame: The Dark Side of Democracy (TNSO, TJO) #4

The lightning ravaged her body inside and out, lifting her off her feet and flying back onto the ground. The passing seconds seemed to last a lifetime before the onslaught stopped and the Dark Lord of the Sith was standing over her.

Wheezing for breath, Tevarii smiled up at him. She had felt the change within him, the purging of the light, and had awaited for what she knew was to come. Punishment for her insolence.

Most knew by now, pain was not a punishment for Tevarii. It was like a drug to her, sending her into throws of ecstacy when others would have writhed in pain.

Twisting her head to the side to look at Lupercus, the smile on her dark lips spead even wider. " We like him, can we keep him?"

Lupercus grinned, a smile curving around his face. He looked at Tevarii and blew her a kiss.

"'Course you can pet.

But you have to feed him, we all remember what happened to your last pet..."

He growled affectionately toward her, before turning back to Maim.

"Good to see your back chump. Now if you'll excuse me, i've got to go blow up the Jedi Academy.

Who knows, if you hurry you might be able to see Gash Jiren and eviscerate him..."

He wheeled himself forward slightly as Maim just stood there.

"I think you broke him my sweet."

He wheeled towards the ship, watching Maim closely.

"Well, enough of this. Destroy the bleedin' world already, if your so powerful that is."

The Dark Lord's power did, indeed, show itself.. but not in the manner the Sith had expected. His hands turned, the lightning rippled once more effortlessly from his fingertips, slamming into Lupercus and his lightning rod of a wheelchair.

"Insolent child.."

The Dark Lord's hands jerked again as the strength of the bolting lightning increased.

"Insolent little whelp..."

One final blow and the Sith was blown backwards and out of his wheelchair. Twin crimson blades snapping active once more. The Dark Lord moved in a blur barely able to be seen by the naked eye, and only then able to be seen to the most trained and observant.

His blades whirled in the air expertly and halted at the Sith Lord's neck, crossing it in an X pattern.

"I should relieve you of your head now... but we have other matters to attend to."

The darkness faded again this time being replaced by natural light. Chikami was in a small hollowed out section of rubble waking to the feeling of a cold rain upon his face. Battered and bruised Chikami felt it was time to get away from this blasted rock.

Through sheer determination and with a little help from the force Chikami managed to 'dig' a whole out of the wreckage. Covered in a fine layer of duracreet dust Chikami looked out upon Theed. It lay burning in many places but the flames were being subdued by the rain.

"Time to go. There is little left I can do here."

Chikami walked slowly down the street, ducking into the first building he came upon. "Joy a doctors office." Chikami helped himself to a few pain killers and a long white lab coat. Chikami proceeded to don the lab coat and button it closed. "White...it will make good cover."

Chikami let go of the force and began masking his presence. Walking calmly and slowly he headed for the edge of the city.

Malice too began to leave the city. Without the force, he was no good to anyone, and he most certainly did not want to die in such a pitiful state. He would leave. Return home to find some way to get the force flowing back to him.

Grabbing a metal pole, Malice used it as a walking stick, heading in the direction he had remembered coming into the city. There, the ship tjat carried TNSO...as well as his ship awaited. The jedi would see him again.......sooner then they would expect.

Lupercus flew back, pain rebounding off his senses as he flew back. He opened his eyes just as a flash of crimson red flooded his vision, smoke wafting off his clothes from the lightning. Blinking quickly, Lupercus tried to regain his composure, despite his semi crippled form. He lent forward towards the blades, towards the Dark Lord of the Sith, a twinkle appearing in his eyes.

"Well then, lets see to those other matters then shall we?"

Jensen slowly stood up from where he sat with the approach of Han…

It was a delicate situation, and although Kenshin was already confronting Han. Jensen had no such luxuries, he shouldn’t move, he couldn’t move and he knew that.

Jensen again found himself studying Zeta. Who had hardly never left Jensen’s gaze the entire encounter. His eyes narrowed at the Sith, who he realized was growing more and more impatient.

He stood unmoving for what seemed to be an eternity, after a few moments he spoke.

“Just leave her out of this.” He said in a quiet but determined voice.

Perrin woke up but where he knew not. A strange feeling had overcome him as he found his actions strangly fluid.

There was something different about him!

He tried to raise an arm to view any damage the wretched witch of a Jedi had caused but found that he could not see his arm.

All around him permeated a rather soft light brownish glow.

It was very hard to concentrate for the light was very overpowering.

I am not alone!

He found his sixth sense, his force sense coming alive with the presence of another. But the perception of the "other" was very dim.

As if a shadow in the distance.

As Perrin's perception attempted to widen out, he found more of the same.... the soft light brown glow that revealed no details as to where he was.

A slave to this you will be if you do not remain focussed young one.

Perrin's gaze frantically glanced around at the invasion of his thoughts.

Where was it coming from?

You remain connected to the physical. In time this will fade...as will your grip on your reality.

I find it strange you choose to fight this fate which you willingly accepted.

Perrin's mind reached out to find the voice but instead found his own thoughts.

And then he saw it.

A dim dark corner, between the soft folds of light that gave the impression of a corner.

Who the bloody frell are you?

I am the resident.

You don't look very happy.

The voice laughed mirthlessly.

Fool. You know nothing of where you are.

And that was when Perrin began to stare intently at the soft light brown lights and began to perceive another level of shadows.

Almost as if outside. Unconnected?

Where the hell am I?

Purgatory.

And then Perrin's mind laughed as his own thoughts began to recall the recent events.

It worked!

He turned a disdainful glance at the impression of a figure still huddled in the "corner".

If a dead man could tell tales, what would he entrance us with?

The wretchedness of his condition it seems.

You will begin to unravel as well...

Perrin grinned, though deep down he knew this to be true.

Those damned ancient writings were good for something after all.

His focus dismissed the occupant and began to shift to the shadows (merely slightly darker shades of the same soft light brown lights).

He soon found the light growing a bit brighter the more he focussed.

The shadow moved.

It grew larger.

It approached.

Perrin's mind began to feel tired but he desperately held onto his focus.

The lights around him began to dim slightly but then intensified.

The shadow was upon him and he felt himself beginning to lose conciousness.

*

There was a yell.

Perrin couldn't figure out if it had come from him or not. He picked up his head, feeling a bit groggy. Near his hand lay a darkening holocron cube.

Something felt different but he paid it no mind at first as he picked himself up and moved out of the chamber.

Outside the holocron room, the chill was still there but was subsiding.

He looked down at the tools near some panels and instantly knew what they were and what they were used for.

How?

As he closed the door to the "Receptical" Room, he noticed that he was wearing different clothes.

The clothes of a Jedi Tech.

Who dresses these clowns?

The doors were still open to the other rooms. As the temperatures were coming within normal perimeters it was up to the tech to close and resecure the doors.

Perrin had other ideas.

Keeping his distance from the "Receptical" cubes, he was after knowledge. Cubes already "filled" as it were.

Taking the tech's gloves, he began to pick through his treasure with glee.

After a few minutes, the doors closed and the reset computers locked them down. He slowly and carefully put the panels the tech was working on back together as his mind contemplated further moves.

Perrin needed a plan.

He had to find ..."himself". (He grinned at the thought).

The mind of this one is slow. Not used to thinking along certain lines.

Perrin's forceful presence beat down any inward doubts that were forming and a plan began to take shape.

He walked through the narrow hall and between the damaged computer panels of the library where he had fought the first two Jedi.

The other techs there nodded acknowledgment of his presence but little else as he walked past them.

Smoke was everywhere as the damage done to the city of Theed and it's citizens heralded the Sith's coming to all distant lands.

The tech... Perrin, smiled.

He walked out of the Temple as repair, rescue workers were running to help Naboo's citizens.

He didn't have much time. He was holding on with everything he had.

First thing is first.

He walked into a nearby building.

"Yes sir?"

"I would like to send a note to my friends to let them know I am alive." the tech said.

"Of course." and as the man was going to show him an appropriate panel, the tech asked, "If I wish to send some specialized repair tools to another province, I can do that here yes?"

"Of course, Sir. We offer all sorts of services."

The tech smiled.

"Perfect."

It was Zeta who moved, moved straight for Jensen.

The Zabrak moved so swiftly that it seemed as if he were going to attack Jensen, but nothing of the sort happened. Instead, he stopped mere inches from the padawan.

His gaze said everything that his still presence did not.

"This is what she wanted," he said quietly.

Both the Lord and the padawan looked to the Jedi Master at the same time.

"...and you will never know why..."

Who knew how long Jensen had had his gaze lost upon Amalia, but when he turned to find Zeta...

...nothing.

...what remained was Amalia's lightsaber in his place.

"Come on, Zeta." Gash said.

His appearance had been sudden and somewhat unexpected. Everything that he and the Rogue Jedi were known for embodied in a capsule of terror-inspiring power. "Picking on --"

And just as suddenly as Gash had appeared, Zeta was gone, in the blink of an eye. "--padawans."
