Endgame: The Dark Side of Democracy (TNSO, TJO) #4

The dramas unfold around the innocent bystanders as the Sith and Jedi look to gain dominance over one another. All around there is the devastation that left in the wake of each and every battle between these polar opposites. These soldiers of the force possessing great power.

In the city of Theed Toryn helped where he could. In the city there were nothing but bodies left behind. The ground being littered with disembodied arms and legs. Often he came accross more then one decapitated body. Debree from another battle left dozens dead and several dozen more injured.

One stood out in his mind, the sight of a little girl covered in dust and all manner of miner cuts and abrasions. Blood flowing steadily from a gash on her head. Toryn took out his combat medkit and cleaned the wound. Comforting the child as best as he could.

Yes, force users possess great power and have an even greater responsibility to use it wisely. When they get out of hand some one else has to step in. Normally those from the shadows, the Teras Kasi.

From the shadows he watches the Force user called Amalia. She was in the data files. He had felt her through the bulk of the conflict. Teras Kasi of the advanced schools can feel those with force strength. Even determine if they hold allegiance to the dark or light side of the force.

Of all of those that are fighting today Toryn fears her the most. The light well fight for her and the dark well test her to see if they can completely turn her from the light and possibly to their cause.

Kenshin came trying to help that The master Jedi Amalia rebukes immediately. The jedi Kenshin was known to him. He saw him after the rescue of the Teepos and Vonta in the Krath incident. This was getting out of hand here and as a member of the Teras Kasi it was time that he stepped in too try and help to bring this conflict to a close.

He held fast to the shadows waiting to for them to sense him.

Jensen became that much more uneasy with how Amalia felt.

He folded his arms casually behind his back as Kenshin spoke again. He looked off to into the distance shortly wondering just what to think or say at the very moment.

He then spoke to Amalia via the force.

We as Jedi are meant to be peacekeepers and to help those in need. You were badly hurt perhaps even dead - of course I stayed because yes I had hope. Because it was the right and just thing to do… is it hope you really stopped looking for? I can say you can find hope again Amalia…

Jensen decided to let these thoughts hang in her mind…

"Hmm," she muttered, the murmur coming out more as a mocking tone, though her face showed no sign of expression whatsoever.

Silence ensued, Amalia breaking it after a few heartbeats.

"Well, Kenshin, let's suppose you're right..."

The woman shrugged nonchalantly.

"...Let's say that I am bitter and that maybe, just maybe, somewhere amongst all that darkness, there is a little bit of will to fight for what little hope that resides somewhere deep down within me. What difference does it make???"

Just when it seemed that Kenshin was about to answer her, Amalia started to speak again.

"Wait..there is something I have to show you...both of you."

Amalia narrowed her eyes in anger as she directed her attention onto both men.

"Allow me to share with you my world, or what it will become, anyway..."

Setting herself into deep concentration, the Jedi Master reached out to both padawans', sending them both small fragments of a vision, a premonition through the force.

They saw the anger in her eyes, the blood that spilled onto her hands, but a amidst all that, they saw the one she would slay....

Yet even after she had showed them the truth, the woman's face still remained in an impassive state, that was until after she spoke again...

"...So you show me and tell me where my determination and hope is supposed to come from now!"

Amalia felt the presence that waited within the shadows, but she paid no mind to it due to her own rage.

Jensen suddenly became startled he wasn’t prepared for this and the vision hit his mind and heart like a jolt of lightning, as the vision transpired in his mind. And he watched in disbelief as the vision poured forth.

Anger, filled Amalia as she watched her victim slowly perish. The blood on her hands told the tale of a duel, one that Amalia ultimately won. The rage…still inherent within her eyes didn’t seem to burn out.

An individual suddenly walked forward into the vision…their back was turned.

That is before they turned to look at Amalia’s victim’s dying body. A face of disgust and anger on their own face.

"Ohhhhhh my God!!" Jensen suddenly reeled, fell back into a tree close by, and found himself perched on the ground.

His eyes wide he looked to Amalia…then Kenshin then Amalia again.

Breathing heavily for a few heartbeats he swallowed.

His voice trembled "That's not possible…"

A figure clad in black storm commando fatigues stands from the shadows. He can be silent no longer.

"I do not know what you showed the Padawans Master Amalia." He called her by name as if he knew her, "But I do know the carnage that has been waged around the innocents of this sphere."

"They are all dieing jedi!," He yells, "Not in the future, but RIGHT NOW!" He had taken off the ebony black helmet that he wore in one swift motion. Revealing a deceptively young face. With features guant with anger.

The sight of that injured girl still fresh in his mind. Knawing away at his insides. Bile was rising in the pit of his stomach as he was sickened at the arrogance of these force users.

"What about their hopes Jedi! Their dreams!" He says then, in a lowwer voice, "What about their hopes and dreams that are dashed with some of you that fall to that dark snuff out a soul?"

He was acting as a voice of those that he saw killed here. He was a soilder, 80 years old, 60 of those were spent in times of seemingly perpetual combat. He saw the damage in the wake of lord vader. The Bodys that lay across the grounds after he had been displeasure. The Inquisitors were no less different in their treatment of the ordinary beings around them.

The very jedi here were falling prey to the dark side. And just becuase they were selfishely looking for 'selfrealization'. He looked at her with disdain.

Kenshin was about to speak when Master Amalia decided to let them in on her vision. Kenshin was suddenly jerked into her little realm of chaos.

The world was dark and foreboding, the air filled with the stench of death and the atmosphere had the tense buzz of a recent kill. Amidst it all he saw a fresh corpse and Master Amalia, her eyes bright with and insane light, her hands crimson with wet blood.

The vision ended as suddenly as it began and Kenshin soon found himself confronting a seething Amalia. The padawan gave her a troubled look. There was hope. There was always hope. She just needed to find it.

There as a pause as Kenshin studied the Jedi Master and pondered her vision. His brow furrowed with concern as he answered, his voice quiet.

"...do you believe that this is your future...?"

Kenshin turned to face the man that had just appeared. When the trooper finished speaking, Kenshin answered with a slight frown.

This man spoke logic, but did he understand that if Master Amalia fell to the Darkside that there would be more bloodshed?

"Please sir, do not complicate this matter..."

Toryn turns and stares down the padawan with old eyes that have seen far too much already.

"Sorry to break it to you kid but when it comes to the force it is always complicated." Now He almost wished that he had gone with the Allderaanian guard armor rather then the storm cammando armor. Then at least he would be in some thing official.

"This place reeks with the smell of death and the prescence of the force." He looks again at amidala, "And to make matters worse the light siders are falling to the darkness."

He looked her square in the eye. " 'Jedi' or what ever you are now."

"You are the thing that I have most feared in my 80 years. A Lighter that is pulled towards the darkness. Some one that the jedi well not reign in or take neccesary actions with just becuase you were once a friend to them.

The Dark jedi, sith, whatever you want to call them well seek to fully turn you and in the middest of all the turmoil people die."

"So can really this a worse situation then the death of a hundered innocents Kid?" He said in a rhetorical manner.

Jensen slowly began to stand up, just in time to see a man just appear out of the shadows apparently with a military background.

Jensen listened as the individual spoke, as Jensen gathered his own thoughts he slowly made his way over to the man as he finished speaking.

"She’s a Jedi Master…"

His eyes narrowed with a contempt about the way he spoke to Amalia.

"…You will address her with proper respect."

With that he made his way over to where Amalia was standing, this time directly in front of her. Jensen studied her closely, and shook his head in disbelief.

His voice trembled as he spoke to her again

"That’s impossble…"

Kenshin gave the man a piercing gaze. His message stated the obvious. He already knew what was happening in the city and did not need reminding. But his convictions didn't sway.

If Master Amalia fell to the Darkness, she could kill thousands. And yet if she regained her Light, she could save thousands.

Kenshin spoke to the man with a grave expression, his voice forcefully quiet.

"If you are as concerned as you sound, then go back and do what you can to help them. In fact, you may take Jensen with you."

The padawan then turned to Jensen with a meaningful look.

"Go with this man to restore his faith in the Jedi. I know that you might prefer to say with Master Amalia but he is right. Our job is to protect the innocent. If you do not go you may tarnish the reputation of the Jedi as well as your reputation as a padawan."

He then turned his back to them and faced Master Amalia with a sad look.

"I will stay here to try to show her the Light. My reputation is already stained so it is of no importance to me anymore. If she falls, I will stop her. I am willing to give my life to show her the Light..."
