I keep on seeing references to Obama being a Muslim. I thought this was brought up in the election and it was stated quite clearly that he was not a Muslim?

Yes, Jan. It has been brought up and dismissed several times. I do enjoy how being Muslim is automatically associated with being a terrorist. Just another reason why I've seen some of the most retarded statements ever, in this thread.

That's because no one realizes the real obstructionists to US power, influence and expansion are the Canadians.

When I was in elementary school, I remember my teacher saying that the Canadian provinces would soon be U.S. states. I am all grow'd up now and they still are not states.

Curse you, Canadian terrorists!

In ur planes, killin ur dewds.

Anywho....

The Obama is a Muslim thing is just a constructed lie to try to discount him that everyone believed just because his name is distinctly foreign in nature. Heck, even my Mom believed it for a while until I sat her down and explained to her the stunning truth that politicans lie.

Really, if Obama was a Musslim, who would he choose one of those extreme hateful and racist evangellical assholes to be his Christian cover?

Muslims aren't terrorists. We all know its the squirrels. Look at 'em there. With those hollow beady eyes. They're planning something....

That's the snakes, not us Canadians.

And yeah, good to know that I wasn't crazy for thinking Obama wasn't a Muslim.

I'm glad Obama is president. I have gone through hard times as a result of Bush's policies and I'd like to see that turn around. If he wants to raise sales tax by God then do it. I'm so sorry you have to tell little Timmy he can't have his party week in Las Vegas. Or little Suzy that she can't have her dream $500,000 wedding. It won't change the spending of us little people and is designed to give us a break. (Personally I don't believe in income tax, period.)

And saying he's a Muslim is saying that I'm a Christian because I got baptized when I was 12. And everyone here knows my thoughts on religion. And if he was a Muslim, he could only help foreign relations with regions in which that is the main belief system.

This is off the top of my head so don't expect to quote it to death and counterpoint it and get any reply from me. Bush was a moron. McCain may be a good guy, and I feel for him, and his experience as a prisoner of war, but he voted with Bush most of the time. And he pandered to the US citizens by calling Obama inexperienced and then putting a beauty queen in the VP seat. No one can deny that.

To this I must reply.

If you don't believe in income tax, then why in the heck did you vote for Obama? McCain was the one who would have lowered the income tax. As for the sales tax issue, who do you think is going to be paying that? The people who have to buy basic necessities. Raise the prices, and those who don't need to spend won't spend as much. Most of them didn't get to where they are by being stupid with their money. The reason the rich get richer is because they know how to invest and how to save.

And saying he's a Muslim is saying that I'm a Christian because I got baptized when I was 12. And everyone here knows my thoughts on religion. And if he was a Muslim, he could only help foreign relations with regions in which that is the main belief system.

I agree that Obama is not a Muslim. However, I don't think he has a clue with what he is dealing. There are those who say Islam is a religion of peace. They are wrong. Of course, there may be (and are) peaceful Muslims. But the religion itself, in its purest form, is one of violence and war. Personally, it is my belief that our foreign relations with countries such as Iran, Syria, and other such jihad-preaching, violence-prone, anti-Israel states should be nothing more than, "Back down or we'll back you down. No nukes for you." You get the idea. I don't think our foreign relations with those nations can be helped, even by Obama. Sitting down and talking with them gives them legitimacy. Not good.

First, Obama is inexperienced. I'm sorry, but you can't get around that. He was the Junior Senator from Illinois. He'd been in the Senate for less than two years. Before that he was in the Illinois state legislature for a short time; before that he was, as he put it, a "community organizer." Governor Palin has more experience than he does, and as much as I like her, even I would argue that she is inexperienced.

Second, on the matter of Palin: Of course he was pandering to the US. What do you think campaigning is in the modern world? However, the more I hear from this beauty queen, the more I want her to run against Obama in 2012. I personally think she'd make an incredible president, with another four years experience under her belt.

Of course, all this would be moot if we actually did what I would want, that being return to the system as set up by the founders. They had the president chosen by electors rather than directly by the people (the people voted for the electors), and they had Senators appointed by the state legislatures, essentially making the Senators ambassadors for the states (just like Nigeria or Germany has ambassadors to the US). That would return accountability to politics, and make it easier to remove a wayward politician from office.

Our relations with the Middle East has always been something along the lines of "Don't F-with us, and we won't F-with you".

Really, the whole mess with the Middle East relations has more to do with our helping Isreal than anything else, the one country every other country in the Middle East is fixated on erasing from existance.

As far as helping our relations with the Middle East, Obama may actually get us there if he makes good his promise to hand Isreal on a silver platter to those who want to destroy it.

But more than likely Isreal will just buy from another source, perhaps the Russians or maybe the French (if they forgive that whole Iran nuclear reactor bombing thing), and the only thing that will be accomplished is a loss of foreign arms sales from US armament manufacturing companies, thus hurting the economy even more.

I'll fix that misquote for you, Park.

"Don't F-with us, and we won't F-with you"

Replace with:

"Don't F-with us and we will continuously and repeatedly F-with you and anyone else who threatens our economic and sociopolitical domination of civilization, western or otherwise. Oh, and just in case you were thinking of F'ing-with us, we have a laser guided bomb aimed at your military scratch school complex."
