Star Trek VS Star Wars....

I know Trekkies may say their universe would win, but even in the War Games, Star Wars always wins. There are more Star Destroyers and they can take a lot more hits before going down, and can travel faster. Even the Mon Calamari Cruisers are pretty nasty and would give the Federation a nice slapping around. Remember, the Star Treks have few fighters, and thsoe they do have are rarely implements. The Federation ships would be overwhelmed by fighters alone.

And Star Wars ships have shields, so you can say they can just just through it with their transporters. And for them to use their transporters in the first place, they need to lower their shields. And with the barrage comming in from practically any Star Wars capital class ship would tear them apart the second they did that.

Gue, we have to remember that the Borg probably couldn't give a crap if the Federation were being attacked. And, as mentioned above, Star Trek ships are woefully unable to deal with the sheer amount of power Star Wars craft are capable of dishing out.

Kas: You might also read behind where I said SW would win, all I said were that each side had wild cards that couldnt be counted out. The Borg being one of the big ones.

Irtar: The Borg have proven in the past to be able to not only teleport through their own shields, but the ability to modulate their teleporters to get through others. SW has shields, its shields are just so woefully weak as to not be able to compare to ST shields, which I will say again, are pretty much immune to lasers.

I feel like a nerd for even reading this thread.

Across 60% of the galaxy, meaning they may have the largest force out of all the galaxies (except Species 8472 which had the power of an entire universe on its side) but its not as if that force were concentrated at any given point.

Okay. So they "only" have 12 500 or so concentrated at one point. Half of the Empire's Star Destroyers were kept "in reserve" in the deep core. But that doesn't even take into consideration the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of support ships (80% of which are probably bigger than the largest Federation warship) and untold millions of fighters.

Plus, Star Wars "lasers" aren't "lasers" in the traditional sense, so they would cut through ST shields like butter.

I haven't read nearly all of this because to be honest I have little to no interest in Star Trek. But aren't you guys missing out on a very important point... which is that these are two fictitious universes which are not at all based on the same standards..

Star Wars is more Fantasy and Star Trek is more Science Fiction, but they both have their own technology and limitations..

If one "universe" is more balanced would that make it weak because the other has this one uber powerful omnipotent being that could crush the whole universe at his whim? Not that Star Trek has one because honestly I have no clue.

Guess what it boils down to is aren't you comparing apples to oranges?

Here's the simplest way of looking at it, after striping away all the extra bits...

It's not Star Wars VS Star Trek...

It's Han Solo VS James Tiberius Kirk. It's William Shatner VS Harrison Ford.

Zell, both are pretty much fantasy. One just uses a lot more technobabble to try appear like SciFi.

Uhm...you do realize that, although the Borg will dish out a fair deal of pain, I am more speaking terms of the rest of the Star Trek Universe. Basically, Star Wars would roll over all the Federation, Romulans, Klingons, and all of them because of the flaw with their transporters. The Borg versus the Star Wars universe on the other hand would be a little more even.

The Empire would just need to use their VSDs to batter them from a distance. At close range, the Borg would slap them around more then likely thanks to how bitching their tractor beams are. Also, the Borg can only go to places they have a transwarp conduit more quickly than hyperdrive, so they have a slight advantage and disadvantage...especially if the Empire positions itself to batter the ships while they're coming through.
