I like Park's first idea as well. It just makes sense.

Well sorry Gue I wasn't aware/didn't remember your old idea.

As for wanting to deal with that shit, I would be more than happy to become a battle mod. I would be very fair and call the damage straight down the line. The only problem is that I would probably get pissed off if and when someone inexorably labels me as being discriminatory when dealing out damages.

I believe there has been a critical error in the interpretation of the thread, with regards to the last post I made and the last post made in the Mon Calamari thread. Several, in fact. They might be cases of me misunderstanding or overseeing something, or it might be errors on the part of the author. Either way, they will warrant some discussion before I can post again.

Firstly is the matter of time. According to the earlier post, it took hours for the arbiter to leave the edge of Mon Calamari and set up a wormhole thingy. Even if it was just puttering along at a very low speed, it gave the impression that there was a great deal of space between the planet and where you were setting up. This would suggest to me it would take longer than a single post for us to return to position.

The reason why this is relevant is because the contingent that ambushed the Black Dragons were of the Coalition's fast line of ships - the Kris, the Longsword, and the Claymore. Should our top speed be greater than yours (Or at the least, greater than those particular ships who were pursuing closely), then going over a larger distance means we would eventually "escape" your range before meeting back up with the larger contingent, which could have considerable battlefield reprecussions, not the least of which being my second point.

My second point, is that only this smaller contingent is of the fast line of ships - the East uses, by and large, a tougher series including the mighty Dominator. The Dominator is the Coalition's thick-built slugger, and are currently serving as the defensive contingent at Mon Calamari. In other words, they are indeed meant for "Collapsing to a defensive position" as it is "the very fundamental principles behind their crafts designs". As such, the actual descriptive battle part of your post, where your fast ships catch up with my formation as it reforms would be in error - firstly, because I had not yet described them resting, and if I had, I would describe them doing so behind the wall of Dominators, and secondly, because the wall of Dominators would hold up rather well to such an attack of attrition, as it is their primary purpose.

Even if one point should prove in error, the battle could still be heavily influenced by the other - if indeed the distance between your position and my planet was short enough to be crossed in a single rush, leaving no room for us to maneauver, I'd still have the wall of Dominators to shield my arrival, and if for some inexplicable reason I did not have such a defensive force to take cover behind, the additional time I'd gain running might give me more time to formulate a strategy or stretch your forces thin in their rush to keep pace.

Are you reffering to the post saying your ships kept pace, stayed out of range, etc? It still doesn't manage to explain how my ships would be hit by yours - even with greater range, the simple fact of the matter is that my lighter ships would be behind the tougher ones, if they stopped at all, which I hadn't yet said they had (to assume my intended actions upon arrival back at the main group at Mon Calamari would not be fair).

(This assumes you are The Hallowed)

I gotta admit, for how intimidating the NOW was, the news to impart wasn't nearly as furious as you'd expect. When I'm next able, I'll catch you on AIM, Ahnk.
