I was arguing that your casualty tolls were unrealistic, as you have yet to employ an effective strategy against me that would make me lose ships - the exception being one Battlecruiser you brought down while it fled with your Astrus cannon. Thus, the 'coming back to life' thing was just me reflecting that if you thought I'd suffered that many loses, maybe you just 'thought' I'd lost that many ships.
As for the boarders, I assumed that the fighting would be done by small squads of ten at a time in narrow corridors and the like, so I took advantage of my racial diversity to hurl an assault squad of ten Azguards at you - notoriously effective at close-quarter fighting.
Yes, I am aware - I did not however post that you suffered your losses at once, and over the course of the thread took comparative losses in my own formation, however your losses are going to be heavier as my ships are firing more and with larger bore weapons while yours are driving pell mell for whatever targets they can find without any unit cohesion whatsoever.
As for your boarders, I appreciate the IC points of it and the writing is of a superior quality however, ten Azgards vs fifty FAC men backed up by say another fity in the nearby corridors with their own small arms and some heavier weapons back up by ship-borne defenses such as laser gates and point defense guns could not just storm through. Let us say that they did make it through the first barricade which they very well might have - there is not a thin line of troops hemming you in. With every second that passes more men are rushed into position to create more and more defensive lines- every time a corridor ends or a turn is made you would run up against another em,placement - this would be farily close quarters fighting, but all of your men would be killed long before they reached any power supply of any import.
I said you lost what by now - 2 Claemores and 2 Longswords - I hardly think four ships to three battleships and six heavy cruisers is out rageous losses, considering you also have a great number of smaller corvettes buzzing about. I believe the post is to you, Dolash.
...No, Telan. I meant the fundamental issue is that you think your ships and your crew are just overall better.
It was meant as a half-joke sort of thing.
That's another problem. No, they aren't! They were tactically maneuvering, not "driving pell mell." No unit cohesion? What do you think Dolash was writing about?
At the speeds he is speaking about this ships would not be able to maintain any sort of formation - why do you think fighter formations fall apart upon contact with the enemy? The largest grouping that maintains it efficiency in a dogfight is the pair - one main fighter and awingman.
I did not say that my ships are better I was pointing out the fundamental difference between our two combt forces: mine are heavy hitting and thick skinned. His are very fast and thicklu shielded.
It is true, that my weapons are the equal to yours - greater, perhaps, on a one-to-one basis, as I have less of them but they take a great deal of power. Also, considering the ships are meant to fly at that speed, and since we even broke formation AFTER the difficult maneauver, I don't see what the problem would be there.
I've also just seen that you posted, I will read it.
