Had there been a problem with the previous rules, then I can frankly state that I was blissfully unaware of it.

Which is a good thing?

Indeed, becuase were there any trouble, I would be one of the first to jump on board to fix it. Such as the former efforts over a locked and unseen forum to make better R&D rules. Yeah, that was alot of wasted typing, fortunatly it was mostly Ahnks...

Too bad I loved what he came up with...

Here's what was wrong with the old rules:

http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2799
http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2771
http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2612
http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2367

Those five threads total out to 545 OOC posts, and that's probably just over half of them. One might also note that this was but a small skirmish, neither of which was finished properly. TRF has never had a full on war with the build rules. I don't want to imagine what it would have been like.

Oh, something I forgot about mentioning, but what about General R&Ds? Can they still be approved, and do they need to be RPed out like Faction R&Ds?

No Kas, Gue is right. There was no problem. We made it all up in our little heads.

Blame Vonta, not the Rules.

Theres a difference:

Vonta is anal, thats all. The same ships had seen combat elsewhere, in even more complicated fashion with no OOC fighting or staff involvement at all. Its the players that tend to be the issuie, nit picking to make the rules work to benifit them. The rules worked, it was merely a matter of the few players who couldn't let well enough be.

If that's what you choose to believe then that's what you choose to believe, Gue. But on the one side there is the opinion of the overwhelming majority of TRF's members and a mountain of evidence, to say nothing of simple logic, and on the other there is just you repeating the same thing over and over. So forgive us if we don't rush to put the old rules back to please you.

Im not posting to change anyones mind, I already know a good 95% of the players here support the rules change, so balking the staff would accomplish nothing.

I already said I wasn't going to campaign to get the old rules back, as you may have heard, I gave up on TRF when I heard about them.
