A) Not directly, perhaps. However, you clearly imply that your ships are moving out of range:
<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>"Excellent. Battle Group 4 is to fire the initial volley. We are then to proceed at full speed using conventional weapons to attack and destroy the star destroyers. Don't slow down. Make sure that there’s no way we could collide."<hr></blockquote>
B) Because of the relitive speeds of our two fleets. My main group relayed information to my secondary groups, which they acted upon. Without that advantadge, by the time you saw the change in course on my fleet's part, it was to late for you to realistically respond.
That would make it a reaction to a reaction, the timing being involved being far to short for a fleet of 900-meter warships to do much.
C) Because the ships were moving to fast for you to do anything but! You're saying that you can engage my ships, but my ships can't engage yours. You placed your fleet within range of a portion of my fleet.
I then placed the rest of my fleet in range of yours.
Lastly... we have ships that go faster than the speed of light, weapons that destroy planets in one shot, and can communicate instantaniously across the galaxy.
But we can't communicate within a single star system?
