In real life, there are not kilometres-long warships, either. However, in the Star Wars universe, there are. In the Star Wars universe, ships have been known to make crash landings with hull integrity severely in jepordy, going into atmosphere without exploding.
Missiles are shielded, and unless you can prove that concussion missiles explode going into atmosphere (highly unlikely, considering they are designed to be able to be used in atmosphere).
<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>I placed my fleet in range of one of your groups of VSDs.<hr></blockquote>
My fleet moved a quarter of the way around the planet, your fleet the other quarter. Currently your other fleet is on the other side of the planet and I'm not slowing down.
Geeze, Marth. Maybe that's why the second group of my VSDs changed their heading. To put themselves in range of your ships.
And yes, it is the first post in which anyone has fired on your VSDs. And you will note that the damages they have sustained are minor - they are still fight able, they still have dorsal shields, their hulls are largely intact.
The only reason they are in jepordary is because their commander put them in a position where damage to a single component (engines and repulsors) can spell doom for them.
Because the damages to said ships are relitively small, it is entirely possible that it be attained in one post. And, in fact, since the attack was done with missiles, it can effectively be considered two posts, since (with missiles) the loading post counts as part of an attack.
You placed your ships in a position of weakness, and I took advantadge of it. You placed your ships in range of mine, so obviously my ships can shoot at yours.
You're right your ships can hit me. 3 of them not all of them.
Doesn't matter if your ships changed heading unless you wanted them to fly through the planet.
Beta group never fired at my rear shields.
The only ships that were even able to fire at my rear shields that did were your fighters. Gamma Group was far away. Even if Beta slowed down I would have been able to notice and react to those developments. I didn't place my ships in a disadavantaged situation you made up a bunch of @#%$ and placed my ships there for me something I don't appreciate.
No, Marth. You placed your ships in the atmosphere, thusly making them reliant on repulsors to not crash. Not me. You.
You moved to engage one of my groups. My main group, which is above you, saw this and relayed this information to both of my secondary groups. They reacted accordingly, Beta group slowing down and Gamma group turning to cut in front of them.
They are both fully in range of your forces.
Now, explain why you deserve the "ability to react" to my movements. Did you give me time to react when you fired on my ships?
No. You stated in no uncertain terms that they engaged, fired, did massive damage to my ships, and then got out of range - all without my being able to even shoot back.
You placed our respective fleets within range of each other. Your ships took damage in the resulting exchange.
A)I never said I put my ships out of range. B)You reacted to fire at me. Why can't I react to your movements? C)Once again I will repeat. I placed my fleet in range of a portion of your fleet not all of it. It was quite obvious if you read my post that my intention was to engage your fleet a bit at a time. Why would I stop that and ignore the fact that you moved around?
Plus there's the fact that you couldn't communicate between your main group and your in atmosphere group since the planet was in the way.
