Earlier, 11th Tactical Response Floatilla HQ, unknown location.
The call had come through only partially, but it was enough. Thousands of personel had been sent scurrying about like ants not seconds after it was received.
Rachuk had been attacked.
The newly appointed commander of the mid rim was capable, but more importantly he was ambitious. And the 11th TRF current posting reflected that.
Containing ships from both the Ubiquorate and Corellian Diktat, it was a true Imperial taskforce, ready to engage at the drop of a hat.
And the hat had certainly cluttered to the floor today...
Finally the fleet mustered and lurched into hyperspace, its commanding officer grim at another encounter with the those who he driven from Sluis.
(OOC: Reinforcements finally arriving, next post.
3 Reign Class SDs
1 Archangel Class SD (Flag, Captain Carlo Alberto)
2 Imperator Class SDs

Marth, what is your fleets positions around the planet? I assume they would be fragmented since you are attempting to besiege the planet...)

OOC:Most of my fleet has left. The remaining fleet is in geosync over Rach.
IC:
"Fighter Control, send out the XM-1 Missile Boats. Order them to use heat sensors to detect massed troop concentrations and ground vehicles. Send the locations to us."
"Aye Admiral!"
"Gunnery Target the Stormtrooper Base!"
"Yes Sir."
Green and red turbolaser bolts flashed out from the Oracle within seconds they were screaming down through the atmosphere towards the stormtrooper base. More and more bolts followed until the stormtrooper training facility was nothing more than a smoking pile of rubble.
"Gunnery. Fighter Control is going to send you locations of targets. Bombard them."
"Aye."
OOC:D amages:
Nothing besides the Stormtrooper training facility really.

"Sir, what is the status of the evacuation?" asked the General.
"Evacuation nearly complete sir. Most of the civilians have been evacuated into the caverns." said the aide.
"Good, and what about our walkers?" asked the General.
"They are completley powered down, except for Scout Walkers five and six. They are having trouble with their hiding locations." said the aide.
"Hmmm. Get some boys with coolant up their to splash them down. I don't want them to be able to be detected by heat sensors." said the General.
"Aye sir. Some of our boys using an old observatory have observed what either appear to be shuttles, or large starfighters exiting the launching bays of their Star Destroyers. It looks like they're coming all right." said the aide.
"Awe shucks, I was hoping they'd commit some more atrocities for our cameras. All well, at least we caught them killing some civilian self defense instructors, and teachers at the stormtrooper academy. That may count for something. And who knows what they will do when on the ground?" asked the General.
"Right sir." said the aide.
They bidded their time, and waited..........
EDIT: Stupid posting limit forcing me to have to do this.......
6th post down Lup.

Bridge of the Serephim.
"Reversion!"
It only took a moment before the starstreaks changed, lines of brilliance melding down back to the distant pin pricks of light, but the fleet had arrived.
"Launch fighters into forward skirmish positions along with our frigates. Jam all long range transmissions."
The officers around Captain Alberto 'aye aye'd' their ascent before proceding with their orders. Moments later the flightdeck CO reported shields were fully raised again, now that the fighter force had been deployed.
To his right the scanning station reported 2 Star Destroyers on station, with a dozen support ships.
"Designate enemy frigates boogies Alpha through Leemur. Raise gravity wells and activate weapons systems."
The fighters had formed up now with the Fire and Strike Class, while the Shrouds pushed forward at full speed, completely unseen by enemy sensors or their mark 1 eyeballs.
"Order Sovereignty forces to surrender, they have nothing to gain here for the losses of their men."
The CommsOfficer nodded and instantly transmitted the request. As the Sovereignty man received the message, the Imperial Floatilla begun bearing down on their ships as they orbited Rachuk.
"Oh, and send an encoded transmission to the CO on the ground, see if he can't call in some firesupport once we get into orbit."

The message was recieved by the commanding General, and from there he began to plan a fire support mission. He didn't have any ground based planetery defenses, like ion cannons, or turbolasers. But he did have his walkers, and mobile artillery emplacements, and that counted for something at least. He prepared a message to be sent to the commander of the reinforcements, on a secret comm code that was not being jammed, and stated the following:
"This is General Septum. If you can lure his forces into the lower atmosphere, my artillery can tear them to pieces." said the General.
The message was sent, and now they waited.........

Bridge of the Serephim.
"Tightbeam transmission received Sir.
General Septum reports he is unable to support us, although he can attempt to engage them if we lure them into the lower atmosphere."
Captain Alberto nodded, then shook his head.
"Totally impractical. Reply with a negative, have them focus their artillery efforts on the ORS army. Request that he begin formulating a bombardment strategy for when the ORS Fleet is dash, focusing on ORS positions on the ground.
I have no desire to waste time and more importantly Imperial citizens on a ground war that could be won without casualty from the air."
The chorus of 'aye sirs' indicated that his own troops would also prepare a plan, they didn't want their glory stolen by the man who they had come to rescue.
The next wave of noise came as the fleet entered attack range of a number of enemy ships in orbit around the planet.
They were seperated, to give greater coverage of the planet and had for some reason not rallied together since the fleet arrived.
Tongues of laser lashed the Sovereignty vessels as the Imperials gave no quarter, knowing they would not receive such mercy in a similar position.
"Raise Gravity Wells. And have our Phantoms move into intercept courses with their Missile Boats, lets see if we can't give General Septum as much help as we can..."
Damages:
4 BoP destroyed
2 BoP 0% Sheilds
1 ISD 60% Sheilds
1 Carrier 50% Sheilds
1 Carrier 100% Sheilds
Other units away from the combat.

The General observed as the Imperial fleet engaged the enemy fleet in orbit. Explosions signaled the end of enemy vessels, with occasional debris burning up in the atmosphere providing a good light show.

OOC:Uh Lup I think I posted them staying together.
"All ships retreat. Use the planet's gravity to slingshot away."
"Aye!"
"Order the missile Boats to fire a delaying barrage!"
"Aye!"
The ORS forces moved as quickly as they can. Most of them would probably be able to leave the system but for some it would prove impossible. The Star Destroyer Oracle and 2 Fleet Carriers, Art of War and Shinzou and were the first ships to reach the outer-range of the enemy fleet gravity wells.
"Prepare for a jump to hyperspace. Anywhere!"
"Aye!"
"What's the status of the rest of the fleet?"
"Most of the bird of preys will be able to get out. They're damm quick. Blade too. The Missile Boats are beginning to retreat as well. The only problem is the Avenger. She was closest to the imperial attack and suffered a fair bit of damage.”
“Order them to fight out as best they can. If they can’t win they are to surrender and scuttle the ship.”
“Aye!”
OOC:I haven’t left yet. Getting ready to leave and barely in range of your gravity wells at the moment.
