"Sir! It looks like they're going to try to escape!"
"Get Squad 4 in their with portable Ion Weapons. Then get Boarding Teams for those shuttles, Plan 32."
"Yes sir!"
10 Sovereignty Troopers ran into the docking bay all armed with shoulder-mounted Ion Weapons. A deluge of fire flew from their positions towards the shuttles quickly incapitating them once again.
Then the boarding troopers ran forward. Each boarding group was comprised of two fire teams of 4. One of the troopers set detonite cord around the edges of the hatches while the others waited tensed and ready. One by one the detonite charges were lit off. A volley of fire came out of the door, but it didn't hit anybody because the troops were safely on either side of the door. Then the troops threw 2 flashbangs in every shuttle. The second the flashbangs exploded the troops were rushing inside firing their weapons set on stun and quickly disabling the disoriented stormtroopers inside. Seconds later the shuttle was cleared and the children, most of whom had been scared of the Imperial forces who had rained death down on their world just days ago went with the sovereignty troops.
Outside in the shuttle bay cleanup operations were already under way to remove and revive the stunned civilians. The civilians were put in one corner of the bay, while the stormtroopers were stripped of their armour and placed in detention cells.
As Imperial troops came to in their cells, they felt something shoved up their asses. When they investigated, they remembered that they had shoved baubles up there in small plastic containers. They ate the baubles. Ten minutes later all the Imperial stormtroopers aboard the Solace were dead.
Ignored by the citizens fleeing to the shelters maybe, but not by everybody. Jel Hel’thrax had been testing the long-range sensors of his freighter when the Sovereignty fleet popped out of hyperspace. He’d recognized the ships for what they were and he’d immediately contacted the other members of the Rachuk Resistance. The resistance up to this point had refrained from any action. They were smart and well-commanded. They knew that when they’d only be useful as long as they remained undercover. Somebody would have to eventually come to Rachuk and when they did it would be time for the resistance to make their move.
In the meantime Jel had joined the civilian militia on Rachuk. He was quickly assigned a uniform and a gun and told to be ready to be called up at a moments notice. The time had come and he was ready. He was one of the many troopers who had heard the transmission by the Sovereignty but unlike most of his colleagues he actually believed it. He and his compatriots had managed to place small homing devices on all of the walkers in the city of Rach. No bigger than a dot they had all been placed in the last hour and had remained dormant so they wouldn’t be noticed, but know the time had come.
Reaching into his pocket Jel pressed a small button on the simple box in his pocket. Immediately he heard a voice, his own though it was garbled by a commercial voice changer.
“This is the Commander of the Rachuk Resistance. The Imperial troops have entrenched themselves on Rachuk, especially in the city of Rach. There are homing devices that will begin to transmit in one second on this frequency. The homing devices are attached to all the walkers in Rach. The Imperial High Command has retreated and are not in the city.”
Jel smiled as he heard the message. With any luck the takeover of Rachuk would be that much more painless.
SS Oracle
“Lock onto the positions of those homing beacons!”
The order was out of Jane Snow’s mouth before the message had finished.
“Dispatch a pair of Missile Boats at full speed to every one of those homing beacons. Bomb those walkers flat.”
“Aye Cap’n.”
Seconds later the XM-1 Missile Boats were diving through the atmosphere. Some of them found walkers at their target zones; others just found buildings. But in every case they bombed the targets. Within minutes, the main forces within Rach had been destroyed.
"Prepare to deploy the other walkers and artillery." said the General in charge. "We only have to hold out for a little while. Hopefully reinforcements will be soon in coming. After all, we did get out a distress signal earlier."
"Admiral Kraken, what are our future plans concerning Rachuk?" asked Commodore Harrier at a conference meeting following shortly after the invasion had taken place.
"Well, the most important aspect concerning Rachuk is it's major stormtrooper training facility, and the expansions that were are planning to add that will include an extensive training facility for Naval officers. Basically, it will be a recruitment and training station for most branches of the Empire from which our fleet will be filled with the crewers needed to run it. As more ships are constructed, more crews, and troops will be needed to fill them, and replacements from battle needed." said Admiral Kraken.
"Ah. I see. So now, where will our major Naval Base be located in this sector? Vladet seems to be a primary candidate for it." said Commodore Harrier.
"Yes, although in fact it will not be Vladet that our Major Naval Base will be constructed, at least, not in the sense of a Dockyard, etc." said Admiral Kraken, "Rather, Vladet will be the base for our construction yards, and major Headquarters for the fleet. But, as to where most of our ships will be stationed when not on assignment, and where ships from all over the Empire will come to for reprovisions, and small repairs, Rachuk will be the main base for operations. Not only will it be simpler to replace crews there, but with ships coming and going, it should have adequate defense. But just in case someone attacks, for right now, I will assign four Fire class Light frigates to defend the world. But fleets should come and go with some regularity." said Admiral Kraken.
"Right. So, will I command the world's defenses as previously planned, or will that duty fall to someone else?" asked the Commodore.
Then the meeting moved on into the economic, and ground defenses stations of the Rachuk conference..........
Now:
"Sir, the enemy has taken heavy losses, but their landings are well under way. Shall I dispatch the 2nd Army to eliminate them, and their beachhead?" asked the aide.
The general shook his head in a no gesture, and instead ordered three of the remaining scout walkers to deploy from their hidden emplacements, and proceed to attack the ORS troops. The fourth one was still on the move, and was still attacking the site of the initial landing with grenades, and laser cannons. As the ORS troops came under heavy fire the Samurai gunships swooped in from above to provide fire support. The remaining mobile anti-aircraft artillery emplacements came out of their hiding emplacements once more, and continued to fire at the Gunships. One burst into flames, and struck a tall building, collapsing it. Fortuantley, damage was minimal, and nobody was hurt. The civilians had long since been evacuated into the caverns in the mountians. Two more Samurai's had been damaged, and were forced to withdraw. Three shuttles were blown up by fire from the Scout Walkers, and in return, one was hit by a missile from one of the shuttles, and was blown to pieces. Another was hit by the Samurais, as were three of them by the remaining Mobile AA platforms, which were actually AT-ST walkers relegated to AA duty. With the remaining ones once again retreating into cover. The ORS troops once again sufferd heavy losses, as the remaining two scout walkers advanced on them with Grenades thundering, and laser cannons blazing.
Rach The Mobile AA platforms may have been effective against the slow lightly armoured Samurai Gunships but against the Missile Boats they were no match. Using targetting information from ground troops each Missile Boat used simple ballistics to launch missiles from well out of the range of the AA platforms. The Heavy Landspeeders which had been taken by surprise at the very beginning began to pour out of their transports. While slightly less heavily armoured than the AT-STs they had as powerful weapons as an AT-AT walker.. Within seconds the ambushing AT-ST force and the Mobile AA Platforms were smoking ruins. Then the heavier tanks were unloaded from the Transports.
The Regiment began to form up and it split up into it's seperate squadrons. The first squadron began to move out while the two ground squadrons remained in reserve and the 4th squadron an Air Cav stayed back patrolling areas that had already been cleared.

Ground operations were beginning to proceed and it was time for the space navy to begin to relax.
"Have we completed the computer flush on the Intimidators and Bird of Preys?"
"Yes Admiral."
"Order the Lancer Frigates, Aegis Cruisers, Defender Gunships, Intimidators and Intredictors to begin a retreat to Bakura. They are to take with them our TIE Defenders and TIE Advanced starfighters."
"Aye, Admiral!"

As the Outer-Rim Soveriengty ships began to withdraw, General Creel, observing this from a holoscope, breathed a silent breath of relief. For now this made the job of any reinforcements incoming easier.
But the situation on the ground sickened him. For the advance units had been destroyed, as had his main walker units earlier on. For now all that remained in the city were a pair of giant All Terrain Armoured Transports, and two Battalions worth of stormtroopers, and Special Navy Commandoes. Some sixty Commandoes had been deployed in the various high rise buildings as snipers, a with a signal these troops began using their Xerrol Nightstingers to pick off the various ORS troops working their way into the city. At the same time, Stormtroopers armed with shoulder pack torpedo launchers began eliminating the Heavy Landspeeders working their way into the cities, while the last two AT-AT walkers rose from the warehouses in which they were hiding, the buildings falling apart as they advanced, their main laser cannons adding to the damage done by the Stormtroopers to the landspeeders, and their secondarys adding the killing power afforded by the snipers.
OOC: Damage Done: ORS: 50 Heavy Landspeeders destroyed (Targeted by 2 AT-ATs, and 480 Stormtroopers firing Proton Torpedo Packs) 500 ORS Troops killed (Targeted by 60 snipers, 2 AT-ATs, plus the crews killed inside the Land Speeders)
TNO: 2 AT-ATs destroyed (By Heavy Landspeeders) 400 Stormtroopers killed either by Heavy Landspeeders, or Gunships, or Missle Boats, or ORS Troops.
OOC:Kraken there were heavy tanks. They would have finished the AT-ATs before they did practically anything. I don't have any troops outside of vehicles. It's an armoured Calvary unit. Plus there's the fact that you had 500 troops in one small area. My men are together so you would have had to pack them in one small area. Your men would've been destroyed before they came close.

"Sir reports are beginning to come in. We have no civilians just stormtroopers in Rach."
"Fine. Order the Samurai's to deploy as targetting. We'll bombard any places with enemy resistance. Repeat the message to surrender. Use the command override frequencies to make sure that they hear it."
"Aye Admiral!"
Saltu-Rachuk
On the ground in Rachuk there were thousands of civilian troops. Most of them weren't fighting for the imperial forces, rather they were fighting to defend themselves from the "imperial aggressors" in orbit. Any comlink or communication device on the planet was automatically turned on by the Oracle. These troops heard the messages and some of them began to react.
One of them was Colonel Den Fornath. He was the temporary commander of the civilian division defending the commercial city of Saltu 10 kilometers outside of Rach. Along with Fornath's brigade there was a brigade of stormtroopers.
As Fornath heard the announcement over the com channels rage began to well up in him. Those damn imperials. There was no renegade imperial butchers coming to attack them. They were lying to him and his troops using them to soak up the laser fire. Fornath wasn't a great supporter of the Sovereignty but he was less of a supporter of people who bombarded citizens and lied to him.
In that moment Fornath made a possible life-changing descision. Grabbing his rifle he made his way over to the other officers of his regiment.
"Send out the order for our men to surrender."
"Sir?"
"We have no chance. We're outnumbered and we barely have the resources to protect 2 cities let alone a planet. If we surrender then our troops will live."
"Aye Colonel!"
"Get a brigade of your best men and order them to move out. They are to disable the Stormtroppers in Saltu."
"Yes sir!"
The militia wasn't as well trained or equiped as the stormtroopers but they had two advantages, numbers and surprise. Within the hour the stormtroopers in Saltu were disabeled and the militia had finished the surrender. Some units resisted but they were also disabeled. Then Colonel Fornath sent a tightbeam message to one of the Missile Boats flying Combat Air Patrol over Saltu. The message along with that Missile Boat's report that the streets of Saltu were filled with civilians and stormtroopers either stunned or standing with their weapons at their feet was filtered up the chain of command. A 2nd Squadron was dispatched and within seconds the troops had taken control of Saltu. They were forced to put the surrendered troops in jail cells however they accepted this fate with little or no complaint.
OOC: Rach:City almost cleared. Saltu: 10,000 stormtroopers 20,000 civilian militia Down for the count
"Sir, our troops in Rach have almost been eliminated, and sir, we are recieving reports that our militia forces in Saltu have rebelled against the Imperial troops stationed there." said the aide.
"What?" roared the General.
"Sir," another voice spoke up, "We are reciving broadcasts over the comm system. It's the ORS troops, feeding lies to the civilian militia."
"How much of our militia is listening?" asked the General.
"Only the troops in Saltu have listened. The rest are ignoring the messages, as we instructed them to, General." said the aide.
"It seems they want to fight dirty. Very well, let's give them a taste of their own medicine. Gansly! Bring up the tapes from the Bespin, and Talorran massacres. Play it across their comlink channels!" ordered the General.
"Aye sir." said Gansley as he played the tapes.
The effect was immediate, as the younger ORS troops learned what the goverment it serves under had done to the worlds of Bespin, and Talorran. Rage welled up inside of them, and reached a boiling point. Then it exploded in a torrent of angry actions. Ten advance Heavy Landspeeders suddenly turned about, and opened fire on the rear elements of the ORS army force. Inside the Landspeeders themselves, and troop transports, soldiers went to war with one another with blasters, knives, and whatever else they could find on them. Within minutes, the ORS army attacking Rachuk was in full blown civil war, the younger, idealistic officers, and troops fighting against the older, sterner, and wiser generals, and troops.
OOC: ORS: 500 Troops killed 15 Heavy Landspeeders destroyed 35% of Army rebelling against ORS rule.
