Logray and Kenshin, two Jedi Padawans on a trip to Endor

Once Logray and Kenshin had reached the top of the ladder, small spears were pointed at Kenshin's face. Logray quickly spoke to each of the spear-bearers, and they put their spears down, though they still looked at Kenshin, with strange looks in their eyes. An ewok, slightly taller then the rest, stepped out of the large hut on the plaza. He wore a skull, which probably came from a medium-size animal. On the skull were feathers, rope, and other things. Logray quickly walked up to him, And they both began speaking. Some motions could be seen pointing to Kenshin, and they were speaking very quickly. Soon the chief tapped his stick down twice. Logray looked to Kenshin, "He wants to come closer. He is deciding to name you, um, part of the tribe." When Kenshin had came closer the chief stared at him, looking him up and down, his face showing a sign of thought. After a few minutes, the chief grabbed Kenshins arm, "Yes." After the chief said the word, many shouts were heard from the nearby ewoks. Though it was quite surprising to Logray and Kenshin when the chief said 'yes'. The chief, though, just laughed, and spoke more to Kenshin.

"Do not worry. Living near a settlement, one learns, how do you say, common. We all learn it when we are you, but use our native language with strangers."

Kenshin grinned when they accepted him.

"It's great you know basic, but I want to learn some of the ewok language when I'm here."

The chief laughed again, "I never said all of us know basic. And the best way to learn our language will probably not come from teaching, but from you learning. You may be able to pick some up here, after your stay. My suggestion would be to talk, or try to talk actually, to some of the ewoks who look more inquisitive of you. They will probably be the ones who know nothing of your culture, language, or anything else for that matter. And you are in luck. Tonight is a celebration, and that will be the best time for you to learn anything."

Meanwhile, Logray wondered around the plaza, speaking to some of his fellow ewoks, and answering their questions.

"I will do that then. This visit will prove to be very interesting. I hope to learn much of my neighbors."

Kenshin grinned.

"Celebration, eh? Sounds even better."

The ewok chief said good bye to the Jedi and went away to take care of other business. Logray quickly walked over to Kenshin. "This is my village, friend Kenshin. I guess this is now your village as well. Have you any questions to ask before the celebration?" Logray said, walking with Kenshin.

"Erm...A few phrases in Ewok would be nice and the reason for the celebration would help too. Is there anything I should and shouldn't do? I don't want to insult anyone..."

Kenshin grinned as his gaze wandered around the village.

Logray looked down in thought for second, then looked up at Kenshin. "I would suggest you speak slowly first of all. They, or rather we, are celebrating because of the good amount of food that was gathered. It is a good sign, meaning that there will probably be more food for quite a while. As for things you shouldn't do, you should not show your lightsaber very much. Others may get very uneasy around it. And be careful what you do. A good idea would be to ask before you take anything if there is an ewok standing close to it. I do know a few phrases that you could use, like 'hello'." Logray carried on, telling Kenshin many basic phrases that he would need, and others that would be a very strange situation for them to be used.

Kenshin listened to Logray intently, absorbing as much of the information as possible. He nodded when the ewok finished.

"Okay, great. I'll try to remember..."

Logray looked again at Kenshin, "It is great seeing my village, but perhaps we should contact you uncle? He mught be expecting us later today. I would not like it if a search party is sent out for us, and we are just celebrating."

Kenshin nodded.

"Yeah, you're right...Hold on a sec."

He removed his comlink from his belt and walked off a bit. He came back in a few minutes.

"I left a message. He should get it."
