Emperor Fearsons, aboard the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Imperial<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Disruptor<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, monitored over the massing freighters and troop transports, littering the space around Despayre. They were hiding safely behind the gencores' shields, which could easily repell any bombardments the Rogue Empire's enemies attempted. There were hundreds of them, all ready to ram themselves head on into combat under any circumstances. The enemy was deceitful and unlawful, deserving no mercy like anything Fearsons had offered in the past.
Spies indicated several weak points in their defenses, one of them specifically being their unrelenting desire to clear out the enemy with ridiculously enormous fleets. Of course, that fleet would be downsized this day, preventing them from fruther cowardly strikes against the Rogue Empire.
A grin curved onto his smoothe, calm face, the Force was paving the way for him, Fearsons knew it was the right thing to do. He clutched his lightsaber at his side, i twas large and double-sided, like that of the Sith Lord DArth Maul and that of Exar Kunn. Of course, the emperor and founder of the Rogue Empire was not Sith like the formers, but rather a full blooded Jedi...but not quite a knight...yet.
As he had finished monitoring the troop and munitions shipments, Fearsons reported away from the large transpiristeel viewport. The PeFauna guards were quick to greet him, surrounding him in typical box formation. Sometimes he truly admired the order and unrivaled training the ebony robed guards maintaned.
They walked to the comms station, and everyone working leapt to their feet to stand at attention. "As you were," FEarsons said, moving in front of the relay station. The enlisted soldier in his way quickly moved, and the emperor lifted the communications device.
"Attention Rogue Imperial First fleet, attention Abyss Fleet, this is Emperor Fearsons, under direct order of the emperor, Task Force Minotaur and Task Force Eclipse, jump to destination Alpha and Alpha-Alpha." There were several "Rogers" and "Aye Aye sirs"...then they jumped, leaving behind the system as if they were never there.
Charlie leader had been given special orders that he was forced to question mentally at least. His X-Wing was not speeding toward the Mon CAl's shipyards to investigate possible spice smuggling, they were not making sure turbolasers were not being placed on kilometer long ships. No, instead the Rogue Empire had declared the immediate carpet bombing of the Kessel surface.
This had surprised those involved due to the fact that this would be the first carpet bombing raid done by the Rogue Empire, of course it was a relatively upopulated planet, thus making life very easy since they could destroy without harming civilian life.
As the X-Wings penetrated the thin atmosphere, the hazy red planet came into view, and the S-Foils were locked into attack position. This was also the first time the Rogue Empire had used X-Wings, it was completely unorthadox and out of uniform for Fearsons' empire. There was a large station ahead of the X-Wings fighters, reading Mon Cal IFF codes. This was not the target. If it weren't for the peace treaty signed at Mon Calamari, Charlie Leader had no doubts he'd be dead by now.
The six fighter flight group swirved past the former enemy base, dodging high crimson mountains until they saw the first signs of Alliance forces. They wre two turbolaser turrets, no doubt with radar dishes inside. However, it was still two clicks away, well out of firing range.
"Attention Rogue Imperial X-Wings, this is Cdr. Treveen of the New Alliance, you are flying in restricted air space in attack posture, turn back at once," the Alliance representative demanded, a hint of fear in his voice. The X-Wings did not waver or respond. "Rogue Imperial X-Wings, this is you rlast chance, leave or surrender at once or be destroyed."
Charlie leader switched on private channels. "Arm lasers and fire at will," he said, and cluthced the trigger of his yoke stick excitedly. The targetting box turned green on the enemy cannon, indicating a good shot...he took it. COuntless red blasts of energy spewed forth from all the fighters, incinerating the turrets.
"Ok Charlie group, break and attack," the leader said, pulling toward the edge of the mountain defenses. As he passed the mountain, what seemed to be a great amount of friction met him as he went through, an artificial atmosphere.
"Ok guys, hang tight, expect enemy defenses to be strong," Charlie Two reported, and he couldn't have been more right. As the final word escaped his mouth, Charlie Three combusted from a missile hit.
The star port just ahead of Charlie Leader looked like a tempting target, and thus opened fire on the parked X-Wings and droid fighters, tearing the unmanned craft into oblivion. They, with the rest of the space port, were destroyed quickly and violently.
"Air superiority established, commence carpet bombing," Charlie leader ordered as a SAM site near him exploded. Several tanks and Darktroopers from below attempted to blast the attacking X-Wings but none of their attacks hit.
The missile tubes, normally holding proton torpedos, unleashed a massive wave of air to surface bombs, sending the entire remaining installation in flames from the countless bombs ruining from the X-Wings. There were of course, still several persons left alive, but the major integrity of the station was gone. One more dent needed to be made before the X-Wings could go home. Pulling his X-Wing up toward the enemy artificial-atmosphere generators, Charlie suqadron let loose an unrelenting assault on the generators, destroying any air the troops below formerly had.
"Charlie Two make one more pass!" Charlie leader called excitedly. The X-Wing flew past the troops and workers trying to flee on the surface, and in a delayed reaction, the person below incinerated. "Nice shot Charlie Two." The base was in ruin, and the Rogue Empire now had a foothold to gain at Kessel, beyond that of the Mon Cal's areas given to them. With that minor relay station out of the way, they could deploy troops in and out.
In the space outside Kessel a similar surprise had occured when the Rogue Empire's task force known as Eclipse jumped into the system, the mighty <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> leading the large force. There would be no parley, this time the Rogue Empire was on the offensive. Fortunately for the Alliance, the strike force was seven klicks away, well out of the gun range...but easily within super laser range, and according to the energy read out of the super star destroyer, it was nearly charged.
Three TIE Bombers emerged from the fleet, followed by four TIE Interceptors, Beta and Gamma Group. It was the standard attack force on installations, if the Bombers were destroyed, more would emerge for the attack. The Star Destroyere too were inbound for the shipyard, but it was too far away to begin any attacks, ETA on attack vector was four minutes. The Alliance would have to wait...with jammed communications.
