Bast Castle: The Grand Council Chamber

The Prince Regent replied to Malice with a smile, of sorts.

"Yes, I shall be sending one of them with you back to your temple. From it you can extract over a century worth of the things I have learned."

He motioned to the walls.

"The Bast Castle was once home to Lord Vader, I am not sure if you were aware of that fact. I have transplanted the Ysalamiri here to insure my privacy from.. uninvited guests. I have also lined the walls of this room with them. It keeps things much more open. Telepathy will not work here. To communicate, it must be done verbally. I find it drastically helps to improve open communications.

Also, this room is a sacred place of cooperation. It shall not be tainted by violence of any kind. I trust you will adhere to this rule while in my.. home. If you find yourself unable to refrain from violence, take it elsewhere. There is, infact, a Squall chamber located no more than 200 meters from this room.

Now, on to the matters at hand.

I have called you here to discuss a few changes I am planning on making in Sith Policy. These are not mandates of a Dark Lord, as I no longer claim that title. That is the first change I am going to address.

I plan to completely abolish the title of Dark Lord from the Sith belief system. At one time in our history it was a needed rank. Now, however, it hinders the cooperation of our people and the unification of the factions. I shall no longer be of any higher rank in the order of the Sith than any other master of our teachings.

The second issue I wish to address is that which I feel is of most importance. The formation of a Galactic Council of the Sith. My plan is to call together a group of leaders from each faction to serve as a council over the beliefs and practices of the Sith as a whole.

Each faction will, of course, maintain control over it's own members and assets. The council will only serve as a tool of unification. Each faction, or house as they should properly be known, would submit representatives to settle matters which address the Sith as a whole. The reason we have yet to conquer the Jedi and their like fully is that we have been much to busy battling ourselves.

It is high time we end this foolishness. It is high time we unite in our common goals. It is time the Sith were once more whole."

Feeling he has spoken long enough, he opens the floor to the others with a gesture.

"Any thoughts?"

Like all the Guards, Silk remained silent. His attention was upon those present, more then upon the words of the Prince.
Occasional meanings would pass through and random intervals, but it was not his place to hear this. His place was to follow. Orders were his motivations, orders and loyalty.

None of this concerned him, in too great a depth. This was a matter for the Sith and their factions. Indeed, it did involve the Royal Guard, but not Dioan Silk directly. His was unquestioning loyalty, unswervingly to obey the command of its leaders. He was above the military and answered only to Liege and to other Guard members.

So, he silently remained at attention.

Seeing as the other sith present did not move, Malice took it upon himself to speak. Standing, he nodded his head towards all who were here.

*Greetings brothers of darkness.....lord Maim. First off i would like to say, usually i do not speak unless i have my usual drink with me. Which i am sure i had order quite a while ago. As well as one for Lord Zeta of course*

Malice looked at the guard that had acocmpanied Maim. He remembered him being the one Jax gave the order to. Looking back at Maim, he continued.

*While we wait for them, let us continue. On the matter of the title Dark Lord of the Sith....i personally feel it should not be abolished. Simply put as it is a title deserving of a sith who has gained many years of knowledge and power within the darkside. It is a title given to one whom has dedicated their lives to the darkside, serving it without question. Though such a title is not easy to get....I feel we should keep it*

He stopped for a moment, letting those there take in what he had said before going on.

*However, one cannot simply give themselves the title. Instead, it should be agreed upon by all sith on who claims this title and the honor it comes with. As it had been agreed upon when Lord Vader had gotten the title, so to should it be agreed upon by us. but i do agree with you not having the title anymore Maim....no disrespects intended, but that's my opinon on the matter*

Again he stopped, his gaze never shifting from his host, and the owner of this castle. He sat down, not wanting to move ahead until everyone that wanted to, would make their opinions well noted on the subject at hand. The title Dark Lord of the Sith was nothing to be toyed with. And to leave it up to one sith to say the title is to be thrown away is not right either.

It was a title mad by the sith, and it will be destroyed by the sith should the need arise. But Malice felt i shoud not be taken away, for he himself wished to oneday reach a stature in life where he would be deserving of such a title. That was what kept him going on in life, serving the darkside faitfully and with all his blackened soul. Wether it made him greedy or not, it was what kept him a sith all these years.

There was a mild sting in the words of the speaker. Though it was a sting quickly soothed.

To honestly expect a member of the Royal Guard to go about fetching drinks, and to think otherwise was ignorant. Naturally, he kept these thoughts and opinions to himself, solice found in the rewarding praise Maim had given him, and also in the fact that the Siths comment showed ignorance or arrogance aplenty.

Only for an instant did these thoughts occupy his head, for his task was upon security, and it had his attention.

It would be his place, however, to punish those responsible for not yet arriving with the drinks requested.

Promptly his mind was fully on the situation at hand.

Dyans pulled back the hood of his cloak, revealing his face to the other Sith in the council chambers. So far he had stayed silent in the matters of the discussion about the title of Dark Lord, preferring to absorb the other's points of view.

The title of Dark Lord was the pinnacle of the Sith tradition. Throughout his life, the Dark Lord would devote himself to the reascendance of the Sith Empire, and the destruction of it's enemies. So far, Maim had taken several planets and established an empire, even with several alliances. Not to mention more planets targeted for his conquest. Truly he was on the path of a Dark Lord, bringing the rise of a new Sith Empire. But the title of Dark Lord could not easily be thrown away. It was needed to keep the Sith tradition whole.

Lord Rann continued sitting in silence, pondering on how the meeting would turn out.

The Prince Regent chuckled slightly.

"Your ignorance is astounding, Lord Malice. There was agreement by no one when Vader became Dark Lord. I should know, I was there. He took it, because he was the strongest. The same is true with Exar Kun, and all the Dark Lord's before him. The title Dark Lord has never been voted upon. It is taken by the strongest.

Just as I had taken it until someone came to take it from me. You should really study your own past before giving me lectures on Sith beliefs, young Lord.

The title Dark Lord means nothing but to the one who holds it. It does not make you stronger than you were. It does not bring you more wealth or power than your abilities would otherwise. In the ancient times it was a way of choosing a leader.

Now, however, the Sith will never band together behind a single man. We are to many and our Empire's far to different from one another. I do not know if you are aware, but I actually underwent the sacred ritual performed by the Dark Lords of ancient times.

Two Sith creatures were allowed to infect my forehead with their poisons. Through my own power and will, I was able to combat it. Thus it was done in ancient times. However, these are not ancient times. These are not the days of Darth Bane and his like.

If he had had his way as his mandate decrees there could be only two. One master, one apprentice. However, we are many. We have broken Sith laws and customs for years, and no one has complained.

The fact that members can rise to the rank of Sith Lord without knowing our history or even the standards of the belief structure they claim to uphold and cherish proves these facts. We have become stagnant. Fighting one another for what we already control. Instead we should be conquering that which is not already within our realm of control. We should be expanding our reach to every corner of the galaxy.

Many believe we need a Dark Lord yet what has having one done of the Sith other than proved to provoke and separate us? We do not need one leader, we need many.

The way things are, there could never be a true Dark Lord of the Sith. My men would not follow you, just as you would not follow me. Also the Dark Circle's men would not follow a leader from either of our groups.

The title Dark Lord is utterly useless. However, I do not seek to force my opinions on you, only share them."

She was getting ready in her room when she heard the voice of the Grand Master walking two Sith Lords into the chamber where Maim was going to hold his meeting. She never could understand why he always wanted her there. But she did as her husband had asked.

Her personal guard Kile Hannad she was sure was waiting out side of the room for her. She had already made him late for the meeting. He might find it interesting, but she was sure she would not. So while she listened she at least came looking perfect for her beloved.

Athena stepped from the room dressed in a Crimson Red sequenced dress, that hung low to the ground. Her hair pulled up around her neck in thick curls. Make-up done accordingly. She wore around her neck the amulet her beloved had given her long ago and as well on her right wrist an amulet that increased her sorcery. But within these walls there was no force. And nothing she could do with out it. This is when she relied upon Kile the most. With out the force she was almost helpless.

Exiting her room she linked her arm within his. So if need be he could move her from harm and still be ready to fight.

" I am sorry to make you late Kile. Shall we? "

She smiled when all he did was nod and then start to walk towards the chambers where the others had already started.

Kile Hannad, Imperial Sovereign Protector, seemed to hover amid his crimson armor and cloak. His Force Pike held firm in his right hand, resting against the shoulder of that same side. He spoke, as the Mistress Athena addressed him.

"Mistress Athena, I am not late. It is not a meeting for me but for the Sith. My only duty is your safety, which I can personally assure in this instance. Now, let os go, I am sure that the Prince Regent is undoubtably awaiting your arival with anticipation."

I know I would be...he thought to himself.

Moving through the short stretch of hall, they entered the chambers and Kile escorted the Mistress to her seat.

The Sith Master and Sith Witch made her way from her seat were she sat and slowly walked towards the group of people.
Within the group was Lord Zeta and Lord Malice.

" Hello Lord Zeta, Lord Malice, its been a great deal of time. "

Then she noticed a Lord whom, she did not know. Then looking towards her beloved. As she reached the end of the Isle she was walking down.

" Pardon my late arrival my darling. "

The Prince Regent was correct in so many ways, the Sith had over time broken many of their traditions and customs. Dyans himself was trained in the Sith arts by Lord Vader and the Emperor's many followers.

Maybe it was time to abolish the title of Dark Lord of the Sith, and rule with a council. Times had changed since the era of Bane, no longer did the Sith hide in the shadows. They roamed the galaxy once again, leading massive fleets and armies against their enemies in the glory of conquest. Much like the ancient times of the Great Hyperspace War.

But this wasn't like the Golden Age of the Sith. The jewel that was once the Sith Empire is now in shards, fragmented and scattered across the galaxy. And now, the jewel must be reformed again, before it is lost to the sands of time. The Sith needed unite under a leadership, and if one Dark Lord could not bring them together, then a Sith council would have to be the replacement.

Lord Rann snapped out of his thoughts as the Lady Athena entered the chambers, along with the Sovereign Protector Hannad. He gave the Sith Master a curtious bow of his head, then continued in his observations of the meeting.
