Get the Army out of Iraq? America sure is concerned with that one, eh?
History sucks, if you want to make a statement like that. And is your concern, in much the same way that we, as Canadians, are your concern and, oddly enough, vice versa.
Guess what; the world is bigger then national borders. We all share it. There's only one. Got it?
America has its' own problems, and outsources for solutions. Face it.
Like I said earlier...
One day I'll lay-up on a hilltop with a highpowered paintgun and, with each squeeze, give each escaping American a colourful paintjob on his way up. Then I'll offer him or her a beer, a warm blanket and a shoulder.
And when Canada is 600 Million People thick I hope to God my progeny have the ability to see what it's all really about. It's about making the world a better place.
The world can go fuck a duck, until they start giving us their net national income to solve the worlds problems, then they can deal with the butt end of our guns. America's primary concern is America, after that, all other matters are secondary.
I admit that I am not racist against an entire race or nation of people, just selective individuals. Does that make sense? I haven't had a good experience with any mexican male, however, the women that I have met, lived next door to or worked with were nice.
Like I said before, there are many racist idiots at that site who have nothing better to do than spew their crap, but there are also a few who are not racist and can present an intelligent discussion/debate without resorting to racist remarks.
A friend linked me to that site, which has helped a bit in finding information I need to write an essay for my composition class on this subject. I think there are many threads and statements at that site that are over-exaggerated, but that's just my personal opinion.
As mentioned before, I personally do not have a problem with immigration. The big stink is that there are 20 million (+/-) here who are in the country illegally. That is what has most people in an uproar, not the fact that they are here at all. The majority only wants the immigrants to go through the legal process of coming to the country and working toward earning their citizenship status.
For the government to allow businesses and industries who hire illegal aliens to go unpunished, and to allow illegal aliens to remain in the country illegally, sends the wrong message to its legal citizens. It tells the citizens that its okay to break and violate the current laws of our nation if you're in the country illegally or supporting illegal aliens.
We already have a system in place that immigrants are to follow for becoming a legalized US citizen. Some have argued that its too hard or too strict. It's suppose to be. The US must protect itself and its people from disease, from draining its resources, etc. Does the United States have the means to support an influx of, let's say 200 illegal aliens per day as an example, crossing the borders? (Low number, I know, it's just used for the sake of argument). That comes to what? Roughly seventy-thousand(+) in one year.
Way back when, immigrants coming in through Ellis Island (and other ports), were stopped the moment they set foot on the ground and checked for lice and other communicable diseases.
(And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that the first settlers stripped the lands and everything else from the Indians. I never said I was proud of that or that it was right.) :)
PS: There are some very good, very valid argumentative points made in this thread. Would anyone mind if I quoted some of them in my essay?
I haven't bothered reading most of this thread, because it will no doubt make me want to go stabby stabby, but if America's primary concern is America, then why the hell are you out here in the middle east again ? Didn't that originally have something to do with wanting to free the people of Iraq from the tyrannical rule of Saddam and blah blah freaking blah ?
