You guys drink. You own guns.

Yet you don't see a point.

We do see your point, but we had already touched on the subject before you even posted the link, explaining that there were stupid people in every bunch, and that it's responsible, knowledgable gun owners that are getting rounded up into the same category. Once again, a responsible gun owner is the pretty much the safest person in the world because the know the potential of their weapons and that sense of safety carries over into every other thing they do. I can't count how many times I've said that now.

Do Charley and I drink? Yes, we do. But we know better than to mix booze with guns. And so do responsible gun owners.

Errrr... you know better sober.

Bottom line, people do things stupid when they drink. Having a huge cache of weapons around is a bad idea for people who like to indulge.

Same with cars.

So long as you know to put your keys/guns/etc away when you party, whats the fucking problem again?

Just because I drink doesn't mean I want to get slobbering drunk. I've been drunk enough on more than one occasion to know that I'd much rather simply sit back and enjoy a few beers while watching football or a movie.

The guy got drunk, got in a fight, and got his gun.

This isn't exactly a once in a lifetime thing. A lot of homicides are commited while under the influence, the fact that this guy only shot himself is just luck.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but, anyone that stupid really does deserve to shoot themselves in the crutch.

And there are even more deaths related to automobiles and alcohol consumption.

I think the issue isn't the tool involved in the deed, but more an issue of personal responsibility.

I couldn't agree more. Lets hope he becomes sterile, and doesn't pass on such reckless genes.

I'm not disputing that. I think if you build a car in your backyard you are stupid too.

Fuck it up, and it explodes. It's not rational, sensible, or pointed in anyway.

Tell that to Jesse James.

Look, if you've got the engineering know-how and you're responsible with it, I don't give a fuck what you do.
