*Grumble*
This time, however, you would be correct. I messed up trying to merge a post of Milkshakes into the thread and instead created a bastard offshoot in the wrong forum. Fixo.

lol!

Nevermind!

I don't know if I can be bothered to type what I thought out again... :ohwell

Some of the lines were a bit ...um... iffy in places but hey, to be honest I went with no expectations, (especially after the last two, heh) and just enjoyed it.

The whole Order 66 thing was good, thought that Anakin switched sides way too quickly, I mean he's practically raised by Jedi and then a few moments later he's killing their Children??
(don't get me wrong that bit was cool, it just felt like a sudden jump to me)..

Overall I liked it, Yoda Vs Palpatine was the best bit for me...

OK I'll break it down a little.

The whole Anakin switching over too quickly did seem a bit quick but I think that's only because by the time that Anakin came to Palpatine's aid he already knew exactly what was at stake.

His mother got killed by Sand People and this whole time he's been blaming himself for not being able to save her. Now he's having the same horrible visions of Padme dying just like he had of his mother and he knows that she's going to die.

Palpatine being the master that he is plays directly to Anakin's weaknesses when he tells him about the ability to prevent death. Even though he knows it's a dark side power he wanted to learn it right there and then when they were at the opera house.

By the time that Mace Windu goes to confront Palpatine Anakin already knows exactly what's going to happen, he knows that Mace is going to try and kill Sidious, and he knows in his mind that if Palpatine dies he won't be able to save Padme.

I think Anakin had made his decision before he even left the Jedi Temple, when he heard Palpatine's voice reminding him that Padme would die he knew the only choice he had was to save Palpatine.

Now about the Yoda, Palptaine brawl. I thought it was really awesome. I love how Palpatine tries to bail and Yoda's like, if so powerful are you then why are you trying to run away? I thought that was awesome. My only beef with that whole scene is how Yoda seemingly gave up at the very end. He almost had Palpatine and then when he gets knocked down and he's scraping to hold on you see this look in his face like he's already lost, and then he just falls down and escapes.

Obviously the movies would have turned out dramatically different had Yoda not evacuated I just think that in that situation where the Galaxy's on the line you've gotta give everything you've got right there. If Yoda would have defeated Palpatine there which he possibly could have then he could have possibly nipped the Empire in the bud.

When Padme dies during childbirth and there's nothing "physically" wrong with her I think that was actually an awesome way for her to go out. You had a good point Seth which I thought of myself which is she had the kids to live for, I couldn't agree with that more. I just think that she literally died of a broken heart, when she found out what Anakin had done and who he'd become she couldn't take it.

The Vader vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi brawl was pretty sick, and as far as Obi leaving him to die at the end of the movie I thought that could be interpreted a few ways. Obviously Obi-Wan didn't have any idea that Vader would live. I think the book's explanation was that Obi-Wan could not strike down an unarmed man. But the way I like to look at it is after seeing all of the destruction and pain that Anakin caused he wouldn't give him the satisfaction of a quick death, and the great thing is that it didn't satisfy him in doing it. It was almost as if Anakin dying was killing him inside almost when he's crying and telling Anakin they were brothers and he would have done anything for him. It was very powerful.

Anyways there's a million things running through my head from the few times I've seen the movie so far but just thought I'd share my thoughts so far.

Interesting point about Yoda vs Palpatine. It did kind of seem like Yoda could've taken Palpy, and if he had just duked it out and finished him off everything would have been averted. Then again it's a gamble Yoda may not be willing to take because he knows if all the other Jedi are dead (and keep in mind he doesn't yet know Obi-Wans fate at this point) he could be the last one alive and if bites it right here they are fuxored for sure. Tough call on his part, but it does seem odd that he'd have the balls to go confront him, and seem to be holding his own and have a good chance, but then bail (haha get it?) out.

Fleet Action wise, not many complaints here. I loved the space battle in the beginning, now I have a much better understanding of the ships and weaponry at that time. Early Turbolaser Cannons consumed a lot of tabanna gas, either that or the tibanna gas was not as refined and compacted, and each shot required the cannon to be manually reloaded. Escape pods are also a little bulky for this time period. I think the Corellian Corvette was portrayed as being a little too fast and manuverable for a ship that size. And before anyone gets any ideas about R&Ding little mouse cutter droids for enemy starfighter swarms, do keep in mind that starfighters of this time period do not have shields.

Someone's already R&Ded them... Scorpions, anyone?

I thought of Telan when I saw the turbolasers blasting and ejecting spent fuel cells... I know he likes the whole old school cannons and stuff.

It was quite good to see SPHA-Ts being used as secondary weapons in the Venator's hangers against the Separatist's ships which would help if ship's turbolaser cannons are gone by giving a fighting chance of survival of the fittest. In the EP3 visual dictionary, it shows of the separatist deck cannon has mass driver with the ammunition feed at the back as the primary weapon of the cannon and it also has ion cannon.

Obi-Wan shoulden't have left Anakin there. He could have taken Anakin home with him and carried on his "You were my brother" speech without Anakin trying to kill him.

Obviously, this would made the entire 4-5-6 trilogy different, and it's a little too late to change them.

Those are different, but they ARE similar. Scorpions use a device to strip a small portion of a ship's sheilds off and cut into the hull. They are used only on large capital ships.

I really never seen it, however I cheated. My friend gave me a link to the script and I read it after I read the novel and the comic book...I can't wait until I can go and see it.
