Everyone has valid arguements from their point of view and everyone has written them elloquently and clearly in the hope of resolution. The various issues that were initially raised have proceded to spawn more related issues (whether 'real' or 'potential') and it seems to be poisoning this thread.

When i have Beff, someone i consider as close a friend as one can have on an RP board, PMing me hoping that 'everything's ok etc', it certainly puts a big fucking dampener on my inner lawyer/ass kicker/sucker for punishment.

People are trumpeting out the now apparently twisted nature of the crusade (from on OOC standpoint) based off IC and OOC comments.

The fact is, as far as i see it, while Beffs character has the IC desire for this outcome and certainly he could see the OOC benefits, both practical and storyline, of this occuring, he doesn't NEED it.

Yes, it would be cool if we lost and had to come back and liberate the planet. Yes it would also force the empire to reevalute its association with the sith. Yes, it would force the sith to either cower like bitches or come back guns blazing to Xa Fel, thereby tyeing them up there rather than attacking the Crusdae elsewhere.

But does Beff/Dolash actually need this result? Their characters have said so, both in truth and the dramatic hyperbole we RPer's tend to rely. I'm sure they've filibustered as much to people on aim as well.

But do they honestly need it, or is this simply 'us' building up all the OOC shit, filtered through our own opinions and views, to make ourselves angrier and fire up more flaming ammo for the next oOC round?

Perrin has provided us (as he so often does in his various forms) with an opportunity for a clean slate with his interlude post. Yes, there has been 'one upmanship'. Yes, we've all gotten into this OOC stouch, whether involved or no, and as a result gotten all pissed off.

This thread was to be the showpeice of the Crusade, its first foray into the galaxy and its 'fuck you we're here' badge to be worn with pride. They chose forcers, rather than fleeters, in my opinion because that encourages more artful writing than 'IVE GOT 10 SDs AND YOUVE GOT 9, I WIN BITCHES!!!!1 LOLZZzzz!'.

So lets just stop and relish some well written bloody combat yes? Damn the end result.
