Would we still allow the other option?

Heir:

The biggest problem with the previous system was the difference in thinking between R&D mods. I recall arguing with Kanbal that his refusal to approve one of my R&Ds was absurd - the ship was less powerful than a previously approved R&D, but too powerful for his tastes.

This led to a resubmission of every R&D on TRF.

Now, it would be easy to say that R&D mods should take past R&Ds into account, but as this example proves, that was not always the case, and that can lead to gross unfairness in the system.

The review thread was a move to push such comments about R&D's out of the R&D thread and into a singular thread to aid the mods. Yes, we had very active mods in the day. Still, when a fleet thread started, most of the R&D's came back under review because people try to squeeze as much as possible into as little as possible... Almost as if they were trying to "Force Evolution" down our throats.. :grin

Forced evolution never cuased a single debate in roleplay :-P

Anyways, such is the nature of progress "More for less" It's just being able to draw the line on whats too much for too little and being able see that it never gets crossed. Thats what we did, and I dare say we did a damn fine job of it.

Just to clarify, I was allowing it in the Cren Alliance thread (the one I'm involved in), but apparently they are not present there. I was just giving advance allowance, in case, so the issue wasn't raised later, the least arguments the better. Kraken and I already had a chat about that. We're cool like that.

Wes was planning to use them, I simply stated I doubted that whoever handled that RP would care.

Quick Question...

If you include an R&D post in a Planetary Takeover thread, does it count towards the takeover or is it seperate?

Seperate. I think.

I would think separate too, but it's not like it matters. No one here (at least not that I've seen yet) has posted a takeover with exactly 5,000 words. It's always been like 7,000 and above.

Old takeovers. I had them clock in at 5,004. Way way back when.
