Hey, all, this is Wes. Kach and I are forming the Dathomir witches as an official, Force-user group. Corise will be joining us. It'll be run similarly to the canon witches.

Basic IC government will be clan based, as in the books. Each faction, the Nightsisters and the Witches, will be run by an overall council of clans, with Kach leading the Nightsisters and myself leading the Witches. Internally, there will be a civil war between the Nightsisters and the Witches (what else is new?). That will be what a number of RPs are about. Externally, however, it will be the Nightsisters' goal to gain galactic power by any means necessary - e.g., the destruction of the Jedi, alliance with TNO and the Sith, warring against the Coalition, perhaps eventually the destruction of the Sith, etc. The Witches will be focused on stopping them from gaining power - an alliance with the Jedi and the Coalition, battling them, etc.

Another idea we had was to mix a clan of Force-sensitive men in at some point, though that is just conjecture at the moment.

OOC, the witches will be run by Kach and myself, each heading up one of the factions (Nightsisters and Witches). And don't worry, we won't be a galaxy-spanning empire with millions of ships. We'll start small, as we're supposed to do.

Oh, one other thing: if one of the Force Council could grant me and whoever Kach's character will be a provisional rank of at least Knight, it would be appreciated. I was thinking a granting of rank, with the Force Council having the power to revoke the rank immediately if it is abused. It would be kind of weird to have two apprentices running the Witches.

As a concerned, active (well somewhat) Force User and veteran of TRF as a whole, I extremely dislike that suggestion. Why? Because in my opinion you have not shown an acceptable understanding of what is reasonable for a Force User of your present rank (Darth Skygge) to be doing. You used Force Lightning and fought with two lightsabers at once as an apprentice. Enough said. I know I, as well as other members of the Force User community, have looked at your RPs as a Force User and questioned or disliked your actions. I do not feel you have done enough in the Force User community of TRF to be allowed the privilage of getting that rank off the bat. Not only is it unfair to those Force Users who are trying to work their way up to become a Knight the regular way, but it could lead to a situation where powers are used and abused, to the detriment of the entire TRF community.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. And I think you are a very skilled RPer, I enjoy reading your Wes Vos stuff. I just dislike the idea of giving you the rank of Knight or Master based on past Force Using abuse/Force Using god-modding (in my opinion).

Now, if you wanted to do this differently, there is always that option. For example each you and Kach and Corise could start off as apprentices and do self-contained RPs in the Battlegrounds where you self-train your characters up to the Knight level. Interactions with NPC Knight or Master level characters would be reasonable in that option, and you would be able to grow and train at your own pace, meaning you could achieve a Knight rank relatively quickly, if you put the effort into it and the Force Council then approved your promotion.


And yes I know my opinion doesn't matter as I am not a Force Council Member. But I wanted to state it anyway.

EDIT: Noticed it said "I am not a Force User", rather than "I am not a Force Council Member" as I actually am a Force User.

The Dathomir Witches do not use ranks like padawan, knight, or master. As leaders of your faction/group, you can bestow whatever title you wish to your underlings. So you don't need to be a "master" because you don't have padawans per se.

The equivalency as to padawan, knight and master will come later depending on you and your underlings balance of roleplaying (ie: not having apprentice-type underlings using force lighting and whatnot).

You don't want to be the Atlantean of force powers now do you?

Just use NPCs. Like say... you are trained respectively by an elder matron of the clan you're of and when the training is done, the old broad kicks the bucket. There you go. Training, character development, and you get rid of the NPC all in one swift plot device of goodness.

Irtar's idea is good. I like it.

Just for clarification, neither of these was my intention. The "Force Lightning" was nothing more than an attempt to gather the Force that went bad. The collected energy exploded. It was meant to show that Skygge didn't have good control over the Force. The two lightsaber thing was worked out with Vance over PM.

Sorry for the confusion on that part.

Either way, I like Irtar's idea, and I think that's what we'll do.
