THAT is a most excellent question, Telan.

While waiting for Ahnk to answer, I will point to the R&D forum where the Cree Ar craft are listed. So far, what has been mentioned in Cata is not the entirety of their fleet or capabilities.

Why Telan, to know what this unknown enemy is capable of wouldn't you need to launch a scouting mission? :P

We actually would know, IC, since they engaged an Imperial world and have several times encountered their forces in battle. But again, that's IC. I'm looking for the reader's digest version.

I've been remiss on the planet list and map... I did a very basic representation of Reaver Space in Paint...

Reaver Space

The arrows represent the general direction of their spread from former BDE space.

Planet list to follow this weekend.

Yes, several. In cataclysm we have three or four fleets that engaged Cree Ar units either in the defense of Yaga Minor or the attempts to reconquer it.

Telan: The totality of current Imperial interaction with Cree'Ar are as follows:

mysterious ship opens wormhole and swallows Hyfe's fleets before disappearing.

TNO: Doesn't know who, what or why but does note that looks like ship that accompanied BDE (in Opening Doors rp) and so presumes BDE connection somehow/somewhere.

Assassination attempt on Bhindi Drayson - where, undisclosed but presumably Yaga Minor

TNO: It appears from slim INS report so far that Drayson was found badly injured but doesn't know who or why attempt was made. No claim of responsibility sent out.

Mysterious aliens attack Yaga Minor, all comms cut off.

TNO: Doesn't know who, what or why. Cannot reach Yaga Minor, Moff of Protectorate or fleet based there.

Time passes and still no word from Yaga Minor.

Reclamation Fleet based on Glee Anselm leaves for Yaga Minor and arrives.

TNO: No word from Reclamation Fleet upon arriving. Borderland Fleet builds to attack BDE (only known quantity related to ship that created wormhole that swallowed Hyfe and his fleet)

Yaga Minor falls

TNO: Does not know.

Transmission from a single ship of Reclamation Fleet that survived. Captain and Crew have yet to be debriefed but transmission shows alien ships holding space superiority though indications of on-planet fighting still going on. Transmissions from ship show images a week old.

TNO: Notes the same ship present that created wormhole that swallowed Hyfe's fleet and ship that was present with BDE fleet and is also at Yaga Minor....correlation now known. Yaga Minor presumed to have fallen.

*

Reavers strike Troiken before Borderland Fleet can launch it's own attack on BDE and breaks through spilling into that area of the galaxy.

*

TNO: About to send two fleets to reclaim Yaga Minor (from Imperial Center) when aliens attack...

So, nothing so far has been sent to Yaga Minor other than Reclamation Fleet that evidently got it's ass handed to them.

TNO does not know who these aliens are or what they want or why they are doing what they are doing. They do not know "Cree Ar".

TNO has no experience fighting them and those that do have the experience are those that may still be fighting on Yaga Minor (rebels??) if any..

Ahnk: At work right now. I will be home in about 30 min and can get on AIM then. If you won't be around, email me.

I expounded for TNO the Reaver, I thought I would add it here for everyone:

Let me see if I can explain it a little..

In BDE, Daemuns are the ultimate pinnacle of their evolution basically flesh broken down (as a transporter would do) and then the person is reassembled in an artificial husk, replacing the biological with artificial. That way his people never die or grow old... they just replace the husk/body with artificial consciousness.

A while back, in the Of Endings threads, I postulated that some Daemun would want something more. Not recognizing what the "more" was but realizing a need, they began to experiment by altering their viral weapons, Phage & BioLogic, whereby, instead of attacking biological organisms and breaking the biological organism down, they instead, work to graft the biological tissue onto their Daemun husk/assembler bodies hoping to 'enhance' themselves and capture that ellusive 'something more' they feel they've been missing. They even stop calling themselves Daemun and call themselves Dracconis.

Within BDE culture, they are first thought of as perverted aspects and perhaps imperfect. But Heir Raktus allows their meddling to continue (for unknown reasons).

In Of Endings threads, I show that the Dracconis have been more accepted in BDE culture (400 years in the future) but they also begin to think more like living people (questioning stuff). They are able to expand their minds and 'think outside the box' to bring about the rise and domination of BDE culture.

In one timeline, Kaine becomes Emperor and towards the end of the thread is working to eliminate the Dragon Imperium once and for all and while he doesn't succeed, he destroys enough of it (or sets that destruction in motion because he dies in the end) to make BDE a mere footnote in the galaxy even after 400 years. The Dracconis try to change that and they go back in time and stop Kaine from killing Hyfe (Apparitions), who is not himself but possessed by a darkside spirit of or claiming to be Palpatine, and succeed. Therefore, at the end of Apparitions, Hyfe remains Emperor and Kaine Supreme Commander.

But the Dracconis also, in altering the timeline, set other things in motion. When the Themien War happens, rather than being Emperor and revitalizing the Empire with a massive military increase, they go on as usual and when the Blood attack the Empire (Themien War Book II - not written yet), the Empire loses and the Blood take over everything and you have the other Of Endings thread.

Again, the Dracconis go back in time and, when that Book II is written will intefere so that Kaine wins against the Blood and things go on as normal.

Now, after two attempts at manipulating time, Kaine realizes that he really cannot do what he wants if BDE keeps sending these people back in time and so puts a plan in motion to eliminate that threat altogether. He feels that BDE is trying to achieve something and as long as the Empire stands in it's way, these Dracconis will keep trying to go back in time to meddle. So how do you eliminate the Dracconis?

Realizing Raktus tolerates them because Daemuns are not really getting anywhere on their own, he decides to remove the Empire as a current impediment to their 'Purpose' as stated in the first post of Cataclysm. So he acts... by not acting. In fact, he retires.

Now that Raktus can continue his 'Purpose' without fear of being smashed or conquored or interfered with by the Empire (since they have their hands full with Cree Ar and other issues), he has no need of the Dracconis and so abandons them.

BDE technology and their Imperium is made up of half daemun/advanced tech and regular people/conventional tech. When BDE retreats from their worlds into the Tion Cluster all the people are converted to Daemun (whether they want to or not). Some may have escaped or if out on ships, just fled that eventuality but most will not (since they are 'believers').

But not the Dracconis. They will not be converted and they are not welcome in the Tion Cluster. I postulate that the Taj keeps tabs on all Daemun through an Overmind or some large Network that the Dracconis are now no longer a part of.

So without that overriding purpose, their technological daemun side reverts to a more basic purpose or function, that of survival. Their biological side, in shock over their being rejected by that which they worshipped simply go mad.

So you have these bodies/husks that are highly virulent (from mutated Phage/BioLogic) which would take over anyone with whom they infect. But they cannot infect everyone or they'd all starve because they will not eat themselves. This is their technological side of their logic that ensures that not everyone living within their sphere will die. They need people to continue to procreate but they will not allow any danger to their safety so they prowl their space striking at any and all holonet signals transmitted or received (with the exception of planets) within their space.

However, planets that have a high useage of holonet is on their main list of feeding grounds so planets do well to stay as quiet as possible.

Can people use other means of communication rather than holonet? Sure.

But remember, their technological side is daemun and they are highly adaptable. But without an Imperium or their god in their life, they keep their biological parts alive by feeding on others.

If people go in and try to destroy them like weeds, they simply go to a world and infect as many as possible as quickly as possible which will boost their numbers. But to feed those numbers?... oh my.

So, it is within everyone's best interests not to threaten their survival or their cold, machine logic will take over to overcome the obstacle in ways not pleasant.

So far, it is enough to ensure they do not spread.

It is a lot of damage to ensure that these people no longer tamper with the timeline upsetting plans. Though, of course, the exact extent of the damage or the nature of what happened was probably unforeseen. I think Kaine would have probably expected Raktus to simply erradicate them rather than simply reject them causing them to go mad and assume another identity of the Reaver... the damned..

Ok I just have one question about the virus that the reavers carry that can infect people and then turn them into reavers. Would this virus work the same way on mechanical beings specifically my soon to be faction which will be mostly mechanic or synthetic.
