Well, there was one introduction thread in the Training Grounds: http://www.therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4031&page=1

And then there's me and Cole training on Fest:

I'm also in the group RP:

And after that, I imagine I could get any remaining requirements through a thread with a Sith or something.

Well, given that Leia is the only member of the Force Council active, your promotion within the TJO will be based on her say so.

The reason that promotions are also slow is that if the person doing the promoting was to promote a person who did not live up to the expectations of their particular rank, then the privilege of promoting can be taken away by the Staff.

Meaning: If Leia were to promote say you and you roleplayed badly as a Jedi Knight, then it would not just look bad on you. It would look bad on her.

Reflecting on what Omnae said, I do not want to promote someone who I do not feel I know well enough to fully trust that person in responsibly representing both TJO and the Force using community of TRF. I don't really care about whether or not it looks bad on me, I already took care of looking bad :p But I do expect other Force groups to do the same, so that the quality of RPs and groups is good.

And I don't like this lonely Force Council thing you brought up....

Anyways, I strongly feel the mentor requirement allows already proven and trusted members of the Force using community to get to know your character, your RPing, and you personally on a one on one basis. Then we are far more informed and comfortable when it is time to make the decision on your promotion, because we have worked with you and know you on a more personal level.

aaaand.... I am probably done.

The force-using community... consisting entirely of pretty much you right now?

Thats' my point, the system doesn't quite work when there's just one mentor. As it is, you'll have too many padawans to train to get to know them on a proper personal basis anyways.

I count maaaaybe two regular padawan posters, one or two who have trouble being online more than once a week, and ... that's about it.

Really? Hm, I though I've met at least four.

If there really is only two or three in total, then maybe the mentor thing could still work...
