Silk found this amusing, this renewed bravado. To think the Jedi imagined it could talk itself out of death.

Even now Silk could hear the words of his Masters teachings, "Only a coward begs his way out."

With surpirising speed, and without missing a step, Dioan sprung up and backwards in an impressive backflip. Gaining his feet and still stepping back he put a sizable distance between the Jedi and himself. Helemetd gazed locked on the Jedi, he lowered his whip, dropping it to the ground...

Suddenly, he leapt forward at the Jedi, the Darkforce thrusting him high into the air. Dropping with amazing accuracy toward the Jedi, the weapon of his training appeared in his hands, its two ends connected.

Driving the top blade of his Force-Glaive down onto one of the lightsabers before him, he quickly inverted the attack. Bringing the lower blade of his weapon abruptly up he drove the charged end towards the Jedi's momentarily open chest...

The Jedi reacted swiftly, his free blade pushing the offending weapon away from his body. Leaping back, he kicked off his foe's chest to drive him away as well. He landed softly, holding both weapons before him. He watched as the Sovereign Protector stumbled back, then stood once more facing him.

The Jedi moved with speed aided by the Force. His light sabers blazed with precision timing and accuracy. His speed was so great that it could barely be recognized by the human eye.

One blade then the other assaulted the Sovereign Protector in a flurry of attacks which left a blue blur before the Jedi Knight. He was still inwardly calm, as he had been taught, but his weapons moved with such furiousness as to make the great Master Mace Windu stand and watch.

Once again Silk drove forward. Into the haze of blades he thrust his Glaive time and time again. Like two great minds trying to pick one another apart, Silk and the Jedi exchanged blows, parrys and dodges. So fast was their fashion that even the most observant could not track their motions.

Back and forth across the tundra they battled without distraction. Clearly, both were masters of combat and both came from the hands of skilled teachers... But Silk would not be beaten, he would not be disgraced nor would he disgrace his Master.

Finally their fray broke, for just an instant.

One of the Jedi's lightsabers, at long last, scored a glancing hit across the chest plate of Dioans armor. It was an attack that would rend most creatures from head to tail but, with the Darkforce as his companion he had avoided the worst of it.

Passing across his chest-plate the weapon drew a massive, black gouge across his armor while the smell of scorched flesh mingled with the smoke of burn cortosis.

Had he not reacted in time, Silk would have lost the moment.

As the blade of the saber passed away from his chest it sputtered and died, the natural reaction of a Jedi weapon to cortosis. This was clearly not something the Jedi expected...

In the moment that the Jedi lost his momentum, Silk lunged forward with the tip of his weapon, and through the haze, scored a hit...

The Jedi Knight had scored, but his weapon's deactivation had left him open. Without hesitation the Sovereign Protector had taken the chance to score as well. Though, without the protection that armor provides, he was left bleeding from his chest cavity.

As the Jedi Knight felt the welling of Dark Side power in this place, he realized this was a battle he could not win. With the aid of the Force he took off like a bolt for his ship. He moved with such speed that few could even pursue him, if they so wished to. He felt another presence upon the planet. One he did not expect. However, he had to keep going without hesitation.

Reaching his ship, which was already prepped and waiting, the ramp closed behind him and the ship was bound from the system at the best possible speed.

Ren was overwhelmed and overpowered by the staggering power of Maim's energy. He had been under the misapprehension that in his spectral state, he was all powerful . . .a mistake that may have cost him everything.

How could he have been so blind and foolish? He let his status as a former Master of the Force, lead him to believe that that power would be multiplied exponentially in the afterlife . . .this was not to be however.

"Alright Maim, You can do what you wish, but let it be known that I'll fight you every step of the way. You might imprison me inside that sith cage, but I'll still be there, waiting, and I'll get out, and get you."

Ren's speech fluttered across and bounced off the steely exterior of the Dark Lord, causing him no discomfort.

A Jedi Master, Ganner Rhysode's master to be exact, made his presence known to the Sovereign Protector and Sith Lord.

"Greetings, Sovereign Protector Silk. I am Nathaniel Somir, son of your Master and Master of the Jedi Knight you have just assaulted. I offer you this once chance at life and freedom. Leave me now and never again follow my apprentice or myself and I shall allow you to live. Do not, and I shall surely destroy you now where you stand."

Now this deemed contmeplation. It questioned loyalty and his orders and, worst of all, left him open and unclear.

Silk needed the instruction of his Lord.

Exposed for only a moment, his training and modling finally took hold.

With sudden clarity of mind Silk opened himself to the Darkforce and called across the reaches to his Master. What would have taken valuable time to express with words, Silk informed his Lord Maim of the situation. Like a drone his mind and body became a vessle of the Dark Lord of the Sith.

The Dark Lord of the Sith let a grin cross his lips once more.

"Do you honestly believe that you will not serve me willingly once a part of the Dark Force?"

He chuckled a bit then made a motion with his hands. A motion which echoed throughout the spectral plain by throwing the spirit of the Jedi Master into the body of the fallen Sith Master. Maim began to speak in ancient Sith. Thunder and lightning clapped outside the chamber as the Dark Force gathered in such intensity as to overwhelm all in it's path.

Maim spoke the ancient words to bind Ren's soul to the new host body. He spoke them with the authority of a Dark Lord of the Sith. Within a few moments time the spell was complete, and the soul of the fallen trapped within it's new body.

However, the Dark Lord was not finished. The Dark Forces gathered together around him swirled and congregated upon the body granted to this spectral spirit. He spoke once more in ancient Sith. He spoke the words of a spell that he was sure only a few Sith throughout the history of time have ever known. A spell to completely block the Light Side of the Force from the body lain before him. This would insure that the Jedi Master would be completely over taken with the Dark Side of the Force and be easily swain to become his servant, like so many before him.

Soon this spell also was complete. The darkness slowly subsided and the fallen slowly opened his eyes.

"Welcome back to the realm of the living, Sith Master."

It was in this moment that he heard the call of his hand, the Sovereign Protector Dioan Silk. His eyes flashed crimson as the message was sent in return.

"Kill him! Kill Somir without vengeance and bring me his head on a pike!"

It was an instant reaction.

Nothing else mattered once those words were ushered into his mind, nothing at all. His Lord said kill and so he would kill, he would kill or he would die serving Maims word.

Quickly, he flicked his wrist towards the new target, loosing a twirling humming blade as he did. Nary a step was wasted as the small repulsor driven, disk-shaped, blade hurled itself at his target Silk followed behind with three fast slashes of his Glaive. Even as he pushed his attack, driving the Jedi back, the humming blade continued to buzz around and harass the Jedi, searching for an opening to embed itself in flesh.

The Master Jedi's reflexes worked even before the actions had taken place. A glaive like handle was born from within his blue robe, the robe itself opening to reveal armor exactly matching Silk's, only in blue with a Rebellion Symbol in the center of the breastplate.

The humming of light saber blades cut the air as the saber/glaive was activated. The blades of his own weapon met those of the Sovereign Protector precisely and without hesitation. Each time the Master Jedi merely parried, but did not attack.

Then, without warning, the device the Sovereign Protector had released at the Jedi seemed to get a mind of it's own and flew at Force aided speeds into the elbow of the Sovereign Protector, one of the only areas not covered by the man's armor.

"Your warning has been given, this fight will be to the death."
