"Where? Well..um..."

Jai didn't quite know what to say to that. This woman didn't look just a little disorientated, she looked totally confused and lost.

"Well, your in a ship...one that just crashed on the planet Reecee. A planet which is under attack by some...well, something. It made me crash, I assumeing that's what made you crash. Now...are you hurt? Can you stand? It's not safe to be out in the open like this. We must get to IDTech HeadQuarters."

Jai stood and held out a hand to the woman, "Try to stand?"

Reecee???

Misery, now matter how much she tried, couldn't remember why she was here or why she had come. Heck, she couldn't even figure out who she was.

She pondered for a moment before checking herself over.

"No...I don't think I'm hurt."

The Shadow Jedi tried to stand on her own, but to no avail, she still felt quite shaky.

With slow careful movements, Misery reached out to take Jai's hand.

A bit scared from her own confusion of not knowing who she was, her voice wavered slightly in speech.

"Than...Thank You."

"No problem, Kid."

Jai steadied the woman and helped her support her weight. She looked very weak and Jai didn't want her falling and causeing herself more damage.

"Let me help you. You don't look so hot. Now, cm'on...I'll take you to a place where they'll fix ya up good."

With that, Jai helped the woman out of the ship and into the dank streets of the city.

"...by the way, Ma'am...my name's Jaina Solo. I would have told you that sooner, but I'm not much of one for proper introductions and all."

The vessel swung through the atmosphere, it massive bulk too much for this sort of arobatics, yet it did what it had to. Like a dagger about to strike the planets heart it turned sharply, no doubt damaging itself from the gravatational strain it was pulling, as it spun down at a step angle to intercept the intruding vessels.

A group of vessels hung over the horizon, coalecing into three, their shapless forms glowing in the light of the fading sun. The destruction under them more than evident from the once great city that rose to space. Beams shot out of them, carving up the earth like hot butter beneath them, wreckage turning to more wreckage.

The Star Destroyer opened fire, its massive guns glowing in the oxygen enviorment, long bursts of fire exploding against the ground as misses were incured before shots rolled across the formless shapes of the intruders. The shots did no visible damage but visible redefined portions of their shape.

Beams shot forth again, this time against the hull of the ragged Star Destroyer, hull breaches appearing all over its hull, sheiulds buckled. Undaunted the weakened vessel continued to fire, it had more to lose if it failed, these were its people to defend, their famalies.

The sounds would have been deafening, stray fire, massive shots of fire from the sky, the rays of death. The engines of the destroyer flared to life, an afterburn of immense proportions, flinging itself in a death swoop, all its guns firing on the same target, striking it with as much force as possible.

Within seconds the scene was played out and over. The Destroyer closed distance with the second of the intruders, striking it with the tip of its hull, cuasing a blow by blow explosion from start to stern of the vessel, ripping the second intruder to atoms, while the fire still taking its effect on the first, with the added explosions taking there effect as well. Before the cameras was portrayed a great act of heroism as the debries of the scene littered from the sky and plumeted to the ground.

At IDT HQ Raktus watched the scene with great sorrow, etched into his face a great pain that would take long to pass

"Take note of all occupants of that vessel, I want them to be eternally remembered as heros to our cuase"

"....yes sir....sir? Someone to see you...."

"Tell them to go, I dont feel like, no... No, it might be important, this is no time to think of myself, let them in"

As the two exited down the ramp of the ship, for a moment, Misery seemed to forget all about Jai as her eyes assessed the damage around her.

A feeling of uneasiness swept over her, sending a chill down her spine.

Her eyes returned their gaze onto Jai, and she nodded slightly.

"Nice to meet you...I'd tell you who I am....if I knew."

Her gaze broke away and onto the big building she had seen earlier.

"...That's the only building left standing."

If she knew?....Ohhh, that's not good. Jai tried to ignore that for now, though. Her main objective was to get this woman some medical care.

After a long, tireing walk and a few short hikes over plies of rubbish, Jai and Misery arrived at IDTech's Head Quarters. Jai escorted her to the relief station downstairs.

"Now, you sit here and I'll see what I can do."

Jai went over and talked to some doctors who seemed to be happy to she her. She pointed over to Misery and talekd for a bit about something. One doctor kept talking to her and one walked over to talk to Misery...

Too many questions, the Shadow Jedi had begun to feel like she was on trial.

Every question that was asked to, Misery would always come out with the same answer.

"I do not know...."

The medical officer who was taking care of her never said anything, giving a curt nod here and there to her replies, scribblind something down on paper ever so often

Finally, for what could have possibly been over an hours time, the medic left her, returning to Jai and the other doctors.

"I'm afraid there is nothing that can be done for her at this time. I believe that the crash may have induced some sort of memory lapse. She appears to have come unscathed, except for the obvious amnesia. There is a good chance, given time, that her memory will return to her. Until then, I'd like for you to watch after her, and if her condition changes, please let us know right away. I'm sorry that I could not have been more help to you..."

The medic was going to say something more, when an emergancy case walked through the door.

"...If you'll excuse me..."

He rushed off in a hurry, leaving Jai with the rest of the other doctors, and Misery, alone to sit by herself for the time being.

Jai excused herself from the doctors, as they seemed to be eager to go help with the emergency case. She walked back over to Misery once they were gone and sat down near her.

"Well, um....whoever-you-are, guess ya heard what's going on, eh?"

Misery nodded and Jai felt at a loss. She was never good at this sort of thing.

"But they say your memory will come back. So, that's good...and stuff."

Mmm, brilliant Solo...how comforting you are! Pfft, yeah right.

"Um, they want me to keep an eye on you, ya know, to make sure you'll be ok. I don't mind that if you don't...but I need to go see Raktus. There seem to be some kinda attack going on and I can't just sit around and do nothing. And, besides, I crash just like you, and I need to get my ship towed somewhere so I can work on it. So..you wanna tag along with me?"

A small smile slowly edged its way onto Misery's lips.

"Actually, you are quite comforting to me.."

Oh, now she'd done it! The woman's face turned into that of surprise or either shock, Misery could not quite tell. She wasn't sure how, but she'd been able to read the smuggler's thoughts.

"Sorry, I hope I didn't say anything wrong. I..."

Misery frowned, troubled by her newest discovery about herself.

"...I can read your thoughts. I did not mean to pry, honest, I'm very sorry."

Misery's face turned a small shade of pink as she looked down onto her lap for a moment, embarrassed.

The Shadow Jedi could tell she had quite the road ahead of her, and that the journey ahead of her would not be an easy one.

Her natural color returned in less than a few seconds and she lifted her head to lock gazes with Jai once more.

Did she want to tag along?

She contemplated over her answer. It seemed that at the moment, she was not off to a very good start.

So much for first impressions...

Perhaps the woman would see past her flaws, if one could call them that. Besides, if her memory did come back, she could go for a second chance at a better impression.

In a place full of strangers, Jai, though maybe she didn't know it, brought a sense of comfort to Misery. The smuggler had done her best to see that Misery had got whatever help she might have needed, and she had not abandoned Misery at a time when she felt lost, scared, and alone.

It did not take the Shadow long to come up with an answer.

"Alright, if you don't mind putting up with me, that is," she said, smiling nervously.

Jai smiled and laughed at that.

"If I can what? Ha! More like you'll put up with me...And..ya didn't say anything wrong, it's actually kinda nice to know that."

Now it was Jai's time to turn red, but she was use to not takeing compliments well and shrugged it off easier.

"Well..ahem...anyways, we better get up and in line to see his highness."
From Misery's confused look, Jai explained, "Heir Raktus...I can't stand him. Never have been able to, and never will. He's....well, he's Raktus. I'll let you gather your own conclusions when ya meet him. Cm'on, Kid..."

Then Jai stopped and seem to be hit with a sudden afterthought..."Hey...um...I can't keep calling ya 'lady' and 'kid'...so, what are we going to call you? Don't ya have some ID somewhere? Ship registry? Flight liscence? Credit card?..anything?"
