Aboard the Battleship Devastator, currently en route to Falleen.....

"Okay men, now, one last time, why has Admiral Kraken sent us out on this little venture?" asked Commodore Carson.

Commander Ivestafi of Mid-Rim Intelligence stood up from her seat, "Because as of lateley, an unusual number of Falleen commanders have been spotted in fleets opposing us. Used to, the Falleen stayed away from us, or even allied with us, as such was the case with Prince Xizor. But lately the Falleen have been not only sighted in greater numbers, with those numbers increasing all the time, but a lot of those have been in fleets opposing us. The first example was a fleet sent against us by the Diversity Alliance, unto which recent information revealed that they were working with the Bothans against us at Isht and Diamal. Since then both the Bothan Empire and the Diversity Alliance has been crushed. But, recently the bothans, this time most likely working for the terroist organization known as the GLF, who we believe was responsible, has again struck out at Isht, inciting uprisings against the Imperial rulers. We believe that this group of Bothans are, er, excuse me, was, a leftover group from the Alliance. Therefore, we believe that a number of Falleen leftover from the Alliance may also have fallen in with the GLF. Since they are such capable commanders, and since their homeworld has not been visited anytime recently, Admiral Kraken decided to order a occupation force to head to Falleen, and to bring that world under Imperial control. Although this is a mission of conquest, much more of it will be seen as a mission of Reconissance, to see what has happened to the Falleen and their homeworld during all this time." said the Commander.

"Thank you commander. Now, with that, we have quite a mission on our hands. We don't what kind of a navy Falleen has, or even if they have one at all. So, we are going in strong, safe, instead of sorry. That is all for now. Arrival to the system is imminent, so let's get to our stations." ordered Commodore Carson.

Minutes later, the stars collapsed from around the Imperial fleet. Dead ahead lay the world of Falleen. Orders were issued, the warships took up their formations, scanners were activated, active and passive jamming were activated across all but two secret channels, shields were raised, and weapons were primed. The Imperial fleet was here, and were prepared to do buisness.

Admiral Grinov stood calmly on the deck of the command ship of the Falleen Defense Forces and looked with cold disdain at the vessels that had entered Falleen Space. His green scaled hands gripped the railings in front of him; A ring with a flat, black stone sat on his right hand. The emblem on it was that of Black Sun which had easily permeated the ranks of Falleen's government quietly and carefully.

What in the blazes of all that is great do they want?

Grinov glared coldly at the Imperial vessels as they exited hyperspace. All Falleen hated the Empire after the genocide they had committed so many years ago and now they had come back. Black Sun was again ruled by a Falleen and it wasn't about to let the Empire come in and ruin their world again with some other catastrophe or attack.

"All ships to combat alert, raise shields, and bring up the planetary defenses. Someone patch me through to the butchers so I can issue their only warning," Grinov said with a vicious bloodlust in his eyes.

The full Falleen defense forces came forward and formed up to challenge Imperial forces as the planetary shields raised and fighters moved in from the surface and launched from the launch bays of the warships. Several holes opened in the now raised planetary shield and the defense fighters poured throgh to join the fleet before the shields sealed up again. As this all occured a channel was opened to the Imperial fleet and Grinov addressed them.

"Attention Imperial vessels, you are in the sovereign space of Falleen. You will withdraw immediately or suffer the consequences. This term is not negotiable, butchers."

The Imperial fleet listened as the Falleen commander made his warning, or at least, tried to make his warning. The channel he was using was currently being jammed, although the facilities onboard his own Star Destroyer partially cut through the jamming.....

"Atte.................Imp........sels,.....u.....arse.......vere........ace........Fall.......u........ill...........draw............diat........uff........onse..........erm.........got...,...chers."

"Well, I guess that this is their response." said Commodore Carson. "Let's get the fleet up to full combat readiness. Load all missile launchers, and deploy the frigates and gunships as a screen one kilometer out. Bring us torwards the enemy fleet, but keep us well outside the range of planetery weapons. And prepare all personnel for combat." said Carson.

The Imperial fleet reconfigured into the classic attack wedge, with a screen of frigates and gunships out one kilometer. They prepared to engage the enemy........

Admiral Grinov just sneered at the arrogant Imperials. They were severely outnumbered and had brought no fighter support whatsoever. The lack of fighters in their attack formation was all too much proof of that. Grinov calmly released his grip from the rails and turned away from the viewport. His green, black, and gold uniform glistened with the service medals he had recieved from his time in Falleen's defense forces. Now he was likely about to add another one to his prominent collection.

"All ships to battle stations. Prepare to slaughter these worthless invaders; Its quite clear what their intentions are."

Grinov walked along the walkway of his command ship and sat down in the command chair that had sat waiting for him. He then looked back out at the Imperial fleet and simply sneered again as clouds of fighters formed up around his fleet.

"Sir, all ships report shields up and weapons charged. What are you're orders?"

"Load warhead launchers and prepare to repel the Imperial force. Inform the fleet that they are to employ combat tactic gamma epsilon. Also, begin our own jaming systems, I don't want the Imperial getting a single message out at least before we've ruined them," Grinov said with a malicious glint in his eye.

The officer nodded and quickly relayed the order. The Falleen fleet then began to form up into its three close set attack groups for the impending slaughter they planned on handing out to the Empire for violating their space with a violent intent. It was time that they educated the Imperials in just how fierce and vindicitive their species was.

"All right, looks like their tooled up and completley ready for combat. Guns, range to the enemy vessels?" asked Carson.

"Ten thousand kilometers and closing sir." said guns.

"Still out of range for our turbolasers, but well within missile range." commented Carson, "Order our Victorys to fire all their concussion missiles at the lead Star Destroyer, followed at a short interval by the torpedoes our gunships have." ordered Carson.

The two Victory Star Destroyers opened fire, their eighty concussion missiles apiece leaping out of their tubes, and streaking in torwards the enemy formation. They were followed by the gunships firing off their octect launchers, another one hundred sixty torpedoes following in the wake of the concussion missiles. The missiles arrived first and slammed into the shields of the lead Imperial Star Destroyer, the one in the center formation, drastically weakening it's shields, and punching holes in some of the hardest targeted areas. The proton torpedoes arrived a minute later, and finished off the star destroyer's bow and ventral shields, and quite a number slammed into it's hull, ripping out portions of it.

With that done, the fleet began the process of reloading their tubes, and waited for the enemies response......

The command ship shook slightly from the warhead bombardment but Admiral Grinov did not flinch at all. He was a very fatalistic military commander and if he died it would matter little. The fleet already had its combat orders and the officers beneath him were more than competent enough to take command if they lost him. They would slaughter these Imperials completely for this intrusion into their system.

"Let us slaughter their minows so that the bigger prey can be nawed on," Grinov said coldly.

The message was clear to the Falleen Defense Force officers as the three battle groups begin to move in on the Imperials. It didn't matter what they lost, they would kill every last Imperial without mercy for what they had already put the reptilian species through. Very soon, the groups met the lines of frigates and gunships and began to focus their firepower on one ship at a time. The small Intrepids, while swift could not dodge so many turbolaser blasts and the Falleen navy began to chew them up like they were nothing as the Falleen fighters held back in anticipation of the strike order.

"Let us return the favor that the Imperials gave us earlier. All ships, target warheads on those two strike crusiers ahead," Grinov ordered.

With a flare of light, proton torpedoes and concussion missiles poured out of the approaching warships and hammered the the unfortunate Strike Crusiers ahead, ripping their hulls to shreds and obliterating their shields.

"Reload," Grinov ordered calmly as he watched the ensuring chaos and rubbed the Black Sun ring upon his finger in contemplation.

"Pull the frigates back for now. Reload the warhead launchers. Target the enemy Star Destroyer flagship again. Meanwhile, have our Star Destroyers focus the full firepower of their weaponry on their gunships. Each Star Destroyer and Attack Sphere, focus on one enemy warrior class gunship. Have the two Strike cruisers focus fire on one gunship each as well. Have the two Carrack cruisers focus on one enemy gunship, and have the two Victory Star Destroyers target one enemy Carrack cruiser each. Finally, have the remaining gunships all focus fire on one enemy gunship as well. All ships, open fire." ordered Admiral Kraken.

The frigates began pulling back, while the gunships opened fire on one enemy warrior class gunship. The equivalent of eighty turbolaser cannons poured into and through the gunship's shields, tearing apart it's hull, and leaving it a drifting wreck in no time at all. At the same time, the Strike cruisers, and Carrack cruisers also opened fire, each targeting their own gunships as well. The first one took a punch equivalent of one hundred turbolasers, and twenty ion cannons within minutes, and it too, was destroyed. The Carrack cruiser's target fared little better, for although it was not destroyed outright, the majority of it was crippled. The Star Destroyers, and Attack Sphere all fired on a total of four gunships. Each ship was capable, and in fact did, pour out enough firepower to destroy the enemy gunships that were their targets. The Victory Star Destroyers also fired, their turbolasers lancing into the shields of the enemy Carrack cruisers. These vessels fared best of all through the Imperial's barrage, and were neither destroyed, nor crippled, although they did sustain moderate to heavy damage.

The fleets began an exchange of fire but it mattered little because Admiral Grinov had a plan and the enemy were merely taking pot shots. In the end it was all too late for the Imperials to realize the plan as the Falleen fleet hammered the last of the Intrepids into oblivion. The loss of several Warriors was a fine price to pay for what came next.

"All fighters, move in and attack," Grinov ordered calmly.

The fighters now jumped forward viciously from their attack groups and moved in on the Imperial ships now that their main fighter screen the Intrepids had created was down. They then moved in on the two Imperial Carrack Crusiers within the battle group and started opening up on them. Upon the bridge of his command ship, Admiral Grinov watched with a cold smile before issuing another order.

"Focus all weapons fire on those strike two strike crusiers. I went them eliminated"

A hail of turbolaser fire shot forward again from the Falleen forces and slammed into the two already damaged strike cruisers triggering a ripple effect of explosions across their hulls. With two flashes of bright light, the pair of warships exploded.

"All capitals, target those Victories!"

Commodore Carson watched as the enemy capital line broke through the Intrepid Gunship screen, and began to pound some of the more moderatly sized ships in his fleet. He decided that it was time to effect an withdrawal.

"All ships, plot trajectories for an outbound hyperspace vector. Keep up the firepower though....We won't be withdrawing just yet. Order the Fire Frigates to help out those carrack cruisers, and fire another volley of warheads at the crippled gunships. All Star Destroyers, target the lead ISD. The rest of the ships, pick off the enemy crippled gunships." ordered Carson.

The ships of the Imperial Navy began plotting their vectors for an hyperspace jump, but did not yet turn away nor cease firing. Instead, they attacked with renewed vigor. The two Fire Light Frigates lashed out at the enemy starfighter formations, their quad laser cannons tearing into the starfighter ranks and dotting the sky with small explosions as enemy starfighters detonated under the onslaught. The Victory Star Destroyers fired a missile barrage, their concussion missiles tearing into the ranks of the crippled gunships. Follow up turbolaser fire from the Victorys, along with the two undamaged Strike cruisers, and two damaged Carrack cruisers, poured fire into the remianing crippled gunships, tearing them apart.

In the meantime the three Imperial Star Destroyers refocused their firepower and concentrated on the lead ISD that had been damaged earlier in the battle. The three ISDs unloaded their full firepower into the ISD. Under this huge barrage huge gaps in the ISD's remaining shields dissipated, and the hull began to take huge amounts of damage. The anti-ship weaponry on the Frigates, along with the weapons on the Attack Sphere, finished off the two damaged Carrack cruisers.

The fighters continued to swarm the two carrack cruisers as the group of dreadnaughts focused on the two Fire Light Frigates to completely finish off the Imperial's ability to stave off the Falleen fighter swarms. The rest of the fleet though began hammering one of the Victory Star Destroyers, ripping into its shielding and shattering the hull beneath. Even as the Imperials made manuevers to pull out, the Falleen just kept coming, showing no mercy whatsoever.

"Grind them into atoms," Grinov said spitefully from this command chair and slammed his fist into his arm rest.

The command was answered with the two Imperial Carracks igniting into fireballs even as the fleet launched another warhead volley, though this time they smashed into the already under attack VSD, ripping its hull apart. The VSD's engines now sputtered, leaving what was left of it floating dead. An excellent trophy for the end battle as they continued to batter away at the Imperial forces.
