"Superlaser, target a Heavy Cruiser. Allow heavy turbolaser splinter shots to get an opening. All turbolasers, just before the superlaser fires, I want a burst of fire from all turbolasers to the coordinates Superlaser Control will give you.

"Ion Cannons, target Light Cruisers with combat designations one, two, and three. Proton Torpedoes, concentrate all fire on Heavy Cruisers with designations one, three, and four. Concussion missles, target Heavy Cruisers designated two, five and six. All lasers, target all Coral and Rim Skippers.

"All fighters, target the Rim and Coral Skippers as well as the Corvettes.

"All craft, I am sending you your designated targets. Remember, these are Yuuzhan Vong. They are formidable, but they are not invincible.

"Emperor Teebo, it looks like we will need reinforcements after all. Please send in a third of your ships to assist. Once they arrive, I will send them their targets"


Joren stopped and went to the front viewport, without turning off the comm.

"All MCR vessels. Know this: The Yuuzhan Vong will die for their Gods, and that makes them formidable. But we will die for each other, and that makes us invincible"

He nodded sharply and the comm was cut off. He looked back and watched as his ships carried out their orders. He looked to his right and saw the Superlaser Control Officer. He knew his next word would echo in his destiny...and eternity.

"Fire"


And space was lit up with the fire of thousands bright green and blue from the MCR vessels. And gold from the Vong ships. He squinted as a hugue barrage of turbolaser fire erupted from the side of his great ship and concentrated on one spot of the enemy ship. He noticed that most of the shots were being swallowed up by those damn dovin basals. But it didn't matter. Seconds later as the barrge was still going on, a huge and powerful green blast erupted from the front of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Liberation of the Mon Calamari<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> and struck the side of the unprotected <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Decent of the Shamed<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. It was a good plan, force the dovin basals to concentrate on one part of the ship while you destroy another.

The <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Decent of the Shamed<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> exploded in a large expanding fireball. With chunks of Yorik Coral flying every direction.

"Good job Superlaser Control. Charge the superlaser and prepare to fire on my command"

He turned to the helsman.

"Back us off. I want a good clean shot at the big one. They are on our flank I need you to back us off and turn us to port. That should give us one good shot to knock out their dovin basal engines."

"Understood sir. Awaiting your order"

"Back us off, Commander" Joren said.

Teebo recieved the message. 1/3 of his fleet would be roughly...
"Send in Pride, Calamari, Shadow Defender, Defender, Baldacinni, Iron Storm, Yavin, Startide, Mon Remonda, Zeus, Warhawk, Valiant, Tiamat, Ta, Shadow and Re to assist Admiral Arden. Also, dial up the inertial compensators on all of our ships."
He watched as the ships moved in to the battle. But then he was distracted by something else. The superlaser had fired. It hit the Grand Cruiser dead on, and everything ws obscured by a brilliant light for several seconds, and when it cleared, The Grand Cruiser was not decimated. Although it was missing several hug chunks, it was still there. He had hugely underestimated their engineering.

Before I post I would like to know...

the Supreme Might was on the flank of the ESD and was pounding at its starboard, how then did it get hit with the super laser?

Chadd this is getting stupid.

Can you tell me how the Grand Cruiser was even on my flank in the first place, as the ESD and the entire FLEET was coming right at you?

Joren I'm not complaining, it's something i needed to know before I got my post up. My cruiser is on your flank, it's simple to slip through enemy ships when two forces combine.

ic:"Sir the Phidias and Duchamp report that they have attacked all enemy capital ships. 1 of the gunships have just been destroyed as have one of the corvettes. Unity reports primary shields at 75% power but holding well. Secondary shields are at 100%. Our shields are at 75% also with Secondary shields at 100%. These statistics are the same for the rest of the super cruisers give or take 5%." said Jump's aide

"Good. Order all ships with secondary shields to reinforce their primary shields with their secondary shields. And the ships that their targets have been destroyed are to move on to the fighters. What are our statistics with the fighter battle?" asked Jump

"Not as good. We have succeded in destroying over 50% of the fighters on our side. The coralskippers are falling quickly but the Rim Skippers are holding their own. Also we have lost the Calamari II and Calamari X is reporting shields at 50%. Fighter wise we've lost a few but not even close to as many that they've lost."

Jump winced at this report. The battle fighter wise was not going half as good as the battle capital ship wise.

"Tell them that reinforcements will soon be arriving. Guns set up 1 full salvo for the next volley from the vong. Engines put all power into shields for this salvo. Sensors tell guns when to shoot. And transmit this order to the rest of the ships in our fleet." said Jump

"Ready guns." said the Sensor Officer

"Now!"

With a rumble every turbolaser, Ion Cannon, Laser battery and Missile launcher on the ship opened up on the vong ship. Suddenly the vong ship seemed to falter. the Plasma Cannons let up their steady stream of Fire. And the Light Cruiser broke in half. There were still a few guns firing but the pounding from the guns eliminated the threats they represented. Looking at his tactical screen Jump realized that all but one of the Light Cruisers had been destroyed. The one that Vendetta had destroyed was floating right in front of his bridge. Baradnis' target had broken up into 5 symetrica targets. lFear's target was know a expanding cloud of debris. Unity's target had a huge hole in it's center and only Kubindi's Shadow's target was remaining. But that wouldn't be for long as the Unity moved up close and began mercilessly pounding the opposite side of the light Cruiser. Then with a burst of static the Light Cruiser was gone. Immeaditly Jump began issuing orders again.

"Kubindi's Shadow and Fear are to go and reinforce the Fighters and Corellian Gunship. Barandis, Vendetta and Unity are to all attack 1 frigate. Sting Wrath and Zion are to move onto the Corvettes. Tone, Hyperspace and Hyperspace Senteniel along with Glory, Wraith and Angel are to move back to the fighter battle and support the capital ships and fighters there. All ships with new targets are to commence bombardement know. Phidias and Duchamp, attack the Gunships and aid the ships there. I expect them to be destroyed quite quickly." said Jump

And with a roar once again the guns on the Vendetta opened up on Vong capital ships.
