"Malice. . .it's been a long time."

A voice, someone within the bar was speaking to him. Nearly to lazy to turn his body around just to see, Malice yelled out his reply, slurring his words as he went.

*Whoooss??thereeeee*

Malice was what some bartenders called, beyong intoxicated. To normal beings, they would have stopped serving drinks to them at this point, but this bartender knew Malice and knew what he was. So he dared not stop the sith from drinking.

Through the force Malice could sense a jedi within the bar. A familiar presense it was, but with his head clouded from the liquor, it was hard to make out. And it didn?t dawn on him, in his drunken state that the person calling to him was probably the jedi he sensed. Then again, he didn?t really care.

The Jedi Master frowned when the Sith still failed to recognize his presence- even when he was standing but two feet from Malice. He knew the Dark-sider had a tendency to get drunk, but this was pushing the envelope.

Kahn took a seat next to Malice; he was having second thoughts now about approaching his one-time friend. After all, he wondered if the Sith could even form a comprehensible sentence at this point in his intoxication. But still, he'd come this far. . .and he had no burning desire to trail Zeta's path at the moment.

"You've let yourself go since we last met."

"You've let yourself go since we last met."

Hearing the person speak once more but not knowing who, made Malice irritated. Though his senses did not fail him a second time, as they lead him to a person who had just sat down beside of him. Looking over, Malice?s cloudy dark blue eyes scanned the being. In no surprise they got big once he realized who it was that was speaking to him.

*Kahn??..*

Was all he managed to get out at first. Malice tried lifting up one of his hands, which to him, felt like it weighed 2 tons. Though he got it up in the air, and let it fall upon one of Kahns shoulders.

*Howw??.haveeee you?.bbeen*

In his overly drunken state, the sith?s mind was too clouded to remember they were once enemies. As the bartender came over to offer another drink, one look at both Malice and his friend caused him slink away silently. Noticing that this was his chance to stop serving the sith. Now was the time when Malice would need to sober up, with or with Kahns help. Otherwise getting information from him, was just as good as trying to get a rancor to speak basic. Impossible.

Kahn managed to resist the impulse to flinch when the Sith laid a friendly arm on his shoulder- at the moment, he was not in the mood to be touched, especially not by Malice, when he could smell the liquor on the Sith's breath quite strongly. It surprised the Jedi Master that Malice didn't recognize him fully, and he realized just how much of a chore it would be to get any useful information from the Dark-sider.

Pointedly, he ignored Malice's slurred inquiry and pushed the arm off of his shoulder; maybe it was the sense of urgency he felt, or maybe some of the brief anger Zeta had caused to flare was closer at hand than he thought, because Kahn was in no mood to be patient with the drunk.

Reaching out for the Force, Kahn entered the Sith's mind with little effort; he didn't delve any deeper than the surface, though he wondered if Malice would even have the presence of mind to put up his mental shiels if Kahn attempted anything more than simple mind-communication.

I didn't come here to exchange pleasantries, Malice. I came here about Amalia.

The Jedi Master only hoped the mention of his ex-wife's name would help drag Malice out of the drunken stupor he currently seemed content in.

Do you even know what happened to her?

There was just a tinge of anger to Kahn's mental 'voice'; even if he and Malice were enemies, it was hard to believe that Malice could be sitting in a bar, drunk, while Amalia was somewhere unknown in the galaxy, most likely dealing with inner demons that the Dark Side tended to amplify in its followers.

Not that he expected Malice to try and 'save' his Master; most likely, the Sith would welcome the knowledge that she'd turned. But still, Kahn expected some kind of reaction. . .

As Kahn delved somewhat into the drunken sith?s mind, Malice could feel it. It was like a throbbing sensation filling his head. In its own way, it was probably the darkside warning him of impending danger or trouble, signaling to put up some sort of mental shield. But as expected, Malice thought nothing of it. Lifting a hand up to the side of his head and whacking it softly, hoping to get the throbbing to stop. That was anyways, until he heard the words flow through his already clouded mind.

I didn't come here to exchange pleasantries, Malice. I came here about Amalia.

Instantly it was like a light turned on in his head. That last word which was spoken, the name Kahn had said, it had awakened some emotions and thoughts within Malice. A now angered, and irritated expression came over his once stuppered face.

Do you even know what happened to her?

*Bah?..d-damn wench. Trried to?kill me*

The words he spoke now came out slurred still, but with a pinch of hatred added to it. Turning away from kahn, Malice rested both hands on the bar counter, his head hung downwards. And that was where he stayed for a few moments. As if he were trying himself, to clear his head up a bit. It would seem Kahns words had struck a core within himself. After a few more shakings of his head, Malice looked back up at him.

*Searching for her I?..I am. Going to k-kill her. Darknessssss?. Has taken ccontrol*

Slowly the memories were squeezing through the thick cloud all the liquor had created. Helping Malice?s mind to recall what had happened not to long ago. Back on Naboo where he had encountered Amalia in her near darkened state. Their fight had caused her to go over the edge, to the point of her wanting him dead. Something she had never wanted before. Not to his knowledge anyways.

"Damn wench tried to kill me. . ."

The words echoed in Kahn's mind, his eyes narrowing at the way Malice so casually insulted Amalia. However, his concern was heightened more by Malice's description of her actions than the crude remark. All Jedi were taught that violence was to be a last resort, and even then, something to be used only in self-defense. All his life, Kahn had never seen Amalia intentionally cause harm to another living being- if she truly had been intent on killing Malice, then things were worse than he'd imagined.

"Searching for her, I am. . .going to kill her. . ."

The Jedi Master's expression changed to a frown; he hadn't anticipated that Malice might want to cause harm to Amalia- this was going to be more complicated than he'd thought. At the same time, his position in Malice's mind gave him a glimpse of the battle the Sith had waged against his Master- and in that glimpse, Kahn understood what had happened. The Sith in front of him was the one who had pushed Amalia over the edge, who had sent her into the Darkness she'd spent so many years teaching him to overcome.

Unexpectantly, Kahn felt a hot flash of anger; it disturbed him, because now was the time he most needed his emotions under control. Nonetheless, he couldn't hide the feeling from his voice when he spoke aloud.

"Do you have any information about her whereabouts?"

He chose not to reveal his own reasons for wanting to find Amalia- or the guilt and worry driving them. He only hoped Malice was too drunk to pick up on the emotional turmoil stirring up inside the Jedi Master.

As Hali approached Cole, she didn't look back toward the Zabrak content to allow him to feel unnoticed.

As she finally made up to Cole, she stood in silent thought.

"No…"

It looked as if her mind was wondering, as her eyes looked at Cole, but didn't meet him directly.

"I was walking out of the shop, when I sensed a disturbance in the force, a darksider an powerful one at that. A Zabrak, and I believe him to be a sith.

Her eyes then finally met his.

"I don't think he noticed me."

Hali didn't bother looking behind her, she had no will to.

"Do you have any information about her whereabouts?"

*Maybe.....what's it to ya*

The cockyness within Malice just sprouted up out of nowhere. Not intent on doing so, but it happened. Looking Kahn in the eyes, Malice let out a grunt. Anger slowly showing over the drunk look on his face.

*She's no longer a jedi. Why look for her Kahn.....let her be*

His words came out cleaer then they had since the two began to speak. What else became noticable was that Malice's clothes were starting to get soaked....from sweat. In a brief moment of mental control, Malice started using the force to clense his body. Removing little by little, the liquor he had been drinking. Which in turn, was helping to sober him up.

The hate in Malice's eyes were starting to overcome the cloudedness. Revealing a more clearer view of his dark blue eyes. The siths mind was getting back to how it always was every second.

*Amalia is no longer Amalia....i-i do not know wwwhat she is. But she will pay, and dearly*

As sober as he was becoming, the feeling of drunkeness still held strong. It would be a while before Malice was fully sober.

Despite Zeta's presence being elsewhere within town, the Zabrak easily took to noticing the whereabouts of others.

What path will there be to walk when no path exists any longer...

Zeta checked into the inn, wasting no time within the corridor as he headed for his temporary room.

"Recovery.."

He began to read the page...
