The Jedi Master almost reached out to grab the Sith's shoulder to keep him from leaving, although he resisted the impulse before he even raised his arm. Such a move would be asking for more aggressive confrontation, and Kahn wasn't very prepared to deal with that on top of everything else.

"Wait. How do you know she doesn't want to be found? Have you spoken with her?"

Kahn didn't realize, but there was a faint pleading tone to his voice; Amalia's absence had caused him to lose a minor degree of control, caused him to be a little less rational than usual. But Zeta's words about Amalia's condition increased the sense of urgency he felt about the situation; he just needed a way to find her, to contact her, before too much time passed.

He laughed.

"Careful Jedi.. be very careful of what you ask.."

He shook his head then, answering in a nonchalant manner.

"I suppose you aren't familiar with the situation that occurred here. Well then, seems it would be up to me to fill you in."

He spread out his arms very briefly before continuing on.

"This area.. this is where I found her. It was all in her eyes, Kahn. She wanted to be anywhere but here.. and it was as I put her to rest that I saw the pleading in her eyes, asking... no... begging me to ease her suffering... And so I did... And for a long time she slept..."

The features upon the Zabrak's face tightened, his lip quivered slightly in anger.

".. but something must have gone awry... I saw her several hours later, leaving with another Jedi...."

He paused, remembering the woman's companion.

"... What an arrogant fool he was!"

Zeta snarled then, his gaze still on Kahn.

"... Who knows what kind of influence that young Jedi Padawan will have upon her. He was far too rebellious to be a Jedi... but that doesn't surprise me, many of the Jedi around here as of late seem to be falling to the same rebellious nature.."

He laughed lightly, stunned.

"... Must be something in the air..."

As Zeta laughed, Kahn felt an unexpected surge of anger flood through him, his gaze narrowing, his hand even drifting to his saber once more. For a moment, he wanted nothing more than to throttle the Sith, perhaps even kill him, just to wipe that smirk from his face. . . but in truth, the Jedi knew that his anger was really directed towards himself.

Kahn should have been there for her, just as Amalia was always there for him when he needed her. But he'd failed, just as he'd failed so many times before; and now, he wasn't the only one being hurt by such failure.

The image Zeta's description created was painful to imagine, to picture his Master, the one who was supposed to be the strongest, reduced to what the Sith spoke of. Kahn knew how the Dark Side could be an escape, an outlet to try and get away from the pain one felt, but he never imagined Amalia in that position. . .

"This is my fault. . ."

He didn't even realize that he'd murmered the words out loud, for a moment forgetting Zeta's presence; then he mentally shook himself, trying to push away the lingering anger. A new question formed in his mind, as he studied the Sith once more, his eyes still narrowed.

"Why are you telling me all this? Why did you contact me at all?"

By now the sith was practically drowning in liquor and beer. He stunk of it, the smell of each and every drink he had flowed from his mouth, filling the air around him with a stench quite a few did not like. Even for a drunk, it was rather over whelming.

"Umm sir, i think you've had enough"

Glaring lazily from looking at the bottom of his mug, Malice eyed the bartender. With but a squint of his eyes, the bartender hurried off to another part of the bar counter. Not wanting to bother the sith any longer. Pushing his glass aside, Malice turned on his barstool, facing the exit. Going to stand, Malice's body didn't budge an inch. It would seem, he had gotten drunk beyond the capacity to walk. Something he hadn't done in a long while. And, it felt good.

His mind clouded, and barely able to concentrate very good, was still able to sense the jedi approach. But, unable to hone in on their force signatures, Malice was unable to tell where they were coming from, or how far away they were. Sighing to himself, Malice called out, in a slow, slow slurred tone.

*What do you want....jeedii.........*

Those within the bar glanced up at Malice, shortly after returning to their own business. They knew not who he was talking to, and truthfully, neither did Malice. For the jedi were most likely too far away to hear his slurred words.

For a quick moment Zeta's mind wandered toward Malice, whom he knew was already on the planet. There was a slight gleam in his gaze as he looked to Kahn; the amused smirk still visible on his lips.

"I did not tell you everything..."

He deliberately ignored the Jedi's questions.

".. Until we meet again Jedi.."

He walked on, heading for town once again.

Damnit. . .

Kahn swore under his breath, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm the impulsive anger that stirred once more. He had to stay in control, he couldn't let his emotions control him right now- otherwise, it was likely he would become just as lost as Amalia.

Still, it was difficult not to follow his impulse to follow Zeta, to try and force him to tell him more; the Sith's cryptic messages only served to push Kahn into more emotional turmoil now; he needed to calm down if he could actually put that information to use.

The Jedi Master closed his eyes, briefly adopting the meditative-breathing patterns until he was sure he was in control of himself. By that time, a few minutes had passed, and Zeta was no longer in sight.

However, Kahn could feel Malice's presence in the Force now, though the intoxicated state of the Sith dulled his Force signature a great deal.

With a sigh, the Jedi Master began to make his way towards town as well, knowing he needed to deal with the conflicts of the moment before he could move on to the more important issue of finding his Master.

Theed, Naboo

The streets of Theed was bustling with all sorts of colorful activity as Hali took to the streets, she walked by various street merchants and shops taking a walk and browsing through the city. The occasional low rumble of passerby speeders could be heard under the constant chatter and other activity of the civilians of the city.

Soon she arrived at her destination.

Stepping into the store things took a more peaceful tone…

The storeowner a Glymphid greeted Hali upon entering his orange eyes set their gaze on her as he did so.

“Welcome to my humble shop, what can I do for you?”

Mildly relieved that the owner in fact spoke Basic she answered.

“Oh…I was just having a peaceful walk about the city, but I was hoping if you had Mistwater here?”

The shop owner nodded.

“Yes, we do…but it’s in rather small quantities. We lost most of it in the fires after the battle.”

Hali frowned in thought.

“The fires?”

“Yes…” The Glymphid said gravely “When the sith came…destroying the academy wasn’t enough for those vile band of hooligans. They set fire to everything they got a hold of.”

The fires in fact lasted for days and when night fell the city glowed, the fiery embers finally being snuffed out bringing the city back into some form of normalcy.

The storeowner continued on.

“There was one of em that stood out…” He said, the gaze from the large orange eyes falling to the counter.

“Who?” Hali asked quietly.

“I’m not sure….eh, he seemed human like but had the aura of a demon…he was all in black…uh…with red skin…and horns.” He told Hali, in a tone of urgency and disbelief

Hali reflected quietly, to her that sounded a lot like the description of an Iridonian, a Zabrak. She had met one on her days in Coruscant, though not one with red toned skin.

Her train of thought was broken as he continued.

“I bet whoever he was is still washing his hands of the blood he spilled here.”

“Ummm….your Mistwater wait here and I’ll go get it.”

Hali was silent as she nodded taking in all that he said, as he went to the back.

Waiting patiently, he returned, and she paid him the credits.

She turned to leave and stepping outside to greet the city once again she started making her way back toward the academy.

It wasn’t long on the sidewalks of Theed, that Hali saw a familiar face…that of her Master Cole Donovin.

Both smiled at each other and they had made their way toward each other.

Then Hali felt it, and overwhelming since of dread and blackness wrestled her senses even though they were untrained. A darksider was near.

And turning around she saw him.

It was an Iridonian making his way into the city from the forests of Theed; he did not seem to notice Hali, at least not yet. But it seemed to be the exact description the storeowner gave. The Zabrak seemed to be looking about…

She quickly turned back to her master.

“Cole…”

There was a sense of urgency in her voice as she said his name under her breath.

And as casually as she could, trying not to let the sith know he was noticed she walked toward Cole.

With the Sith book of spells still in hand, the Zabrak continued to make his way across town.

He seemed to not notice the woman that had spotted his presence, purposely paying her no mind as he walked along.

He had no time to play, there were other matters of importance that he needed to attend to.

There was much to do..

First he would brandish up on his saber skills, and then get to work on studying the book of spells.

He would not make the same mistake twice.

There seemed to be something not quite right with Hali, Donovin could see it in the woman's gaze even though the two had yet to stand face to face with one another.

The woman was slightly disturbed by something, but what, Donovin could not tell.

Donovin allowed his pace to quicken slightly as he completed the remaining strides that were needed to come face to face with her.

As the two reached one another, Donovin's brow creased lightly as he caught Hali's gaze.

"Is everything alright?"

His gaze parted from her very quickly as he came to look past her, looking to see if anyone had been following her. When he found and saw no one he looked back to Hali again, a perplexed look crossing his face.

"Hali...?"

Kahn frowned as he entered the town, feeling Zeta's presence as well as Malice's. The Jedi Master was still unsure as to why the Zabrak would contact him, why the Sith would willingly give information so freely. There was something more that Zeta wasn't telling him. . .but Kahn realized that he could not dwell on such discrepencies at the moment.

Right now, he needed to make sure Malice wasn't causing any trouble. Besides, it was possible that the drunken Sith might have more knowledge about Amalia; after all, they had been married once, and created a son together. Not that it seemed to matter to the Sith any more; and as far as Kahn had known, Amalia seemed to have put that particular time of the past behind her as well. But then, he wasn't sure about much concerning his Master any more- after all, if he'd failed to see her turn to the Dark Side, then what else had he missed?

The Jedi Master avoided Zeta's presence, sensing two other Jedi in the city as well, and feeling fairly certain that they would be able to deal with the Zabrak; besides, Zeta generally wasn't the type to go for public violence often.

Kahn stepped into the bar Malice occupied, leaving his Force presence unshielded, so that even the drunken Sith would be able to sense him clearly. He had no reason to hide from his childhood friend.

"Malice. . .it's been a long time."

He shook his head when the bartender stepped over to take his order; alcohol wasn't something Kahn enjoyed. It dulled the senses and disorientated one- both were effects that could very well be deadly, or at the very least lessen his ability to connect with the Force while intoxicated.
