Deep Space Rendezvous Point

"Sir message from Kessel. Farfalen ships have just entered the system with intentions to attack and take the planet. Sovereignty Forces are preparing to defend the world."

Vice-President Marth Meer was startles out of his examination of the stars in his personal chamber. He turned to stare at the Communications Officer who had brought him this mesage.

He was only a young man, perhaps no more than 22 years of age. On his right breast there was the shining rank insigna of an Ensign. The young man couldn't have been at his job for more than a month and it was showing. His voice had trembled slightly when he'd brought the news to him. Even know the boy was beaming, he must have known what was to come. Yet he was positively eager. Maturity and experience had not yet taken hold on him and taught him to fear death. He was just a boy out of place in a world of killing and violence, Marth could only hope that he'd learn to fear death through a scare instead of through the death of a personal friend or his own.

"Send my compliments to Captain Harris. Tell him that the Farfalen has struck out at one of our allies. He is to initiate Operation Sovereign Retribution within the half hour."

Marth turned back to examine the stars but this time his thoughts were drifting. He was still examining the stars when 27 minutes later the fleet jumped into hyperspace bound for Farfalen.

Hargeeva System

With a the slightest of shakes the Sovereign Solace returned to realspace in the Hargeeva System.

"Shields up! Power up all weapons and give me a complete sensor scan of the whole system."

Captain Harris the tall barrel chested captain of the Sovereign Solace stood gazing out of the viewport at their target world. Around the planet there was some orbiting shipyards as well as what appeared to be massive quantities of mines.

"Sir, we have what appears to be 4 Shipbuilding Facilities in orbit as well as 2 Construction Facilities on the ground. The shipyards are in geo-synchrous orbit over the construction facilities. We also have 3 Shield Generators of varying power as well as 8 planetary defense networks. 6 Advanced Turbolaser and 2 Ion Cannon. Sensors also report 50,000 mines in orbit around the planet."

"Confirm 8 Planetary Defence Networks."

"8 Planetary Defence Networks, this place is more heavily guarded than Bakura."

"Order all ships to approach the planet and hold back at maximum Intimidator Range."

Hargeevan Home Defense Command Center personal snapped to duty as they saw an enemy fleet enter the system and charge weapons. The shields went up and weapons charged. A single message was sent to the unidentified fleet asking what they wanted.

OOC:See there's this little thing about turning on the shields. However at Omnae's command because he said my last post was illegal because I did too much, I'm going to edit my post to my just arriving out of hyperspace.

Hargeeva System

"Sir. We have Shield Activation as well as Planetary Defence Grid Activation."

"Are we within range of the Planetary Defence Grids?"

"No sir. We're approximately 10 km outside of maximum range. We're also not within weapons range of the shield."

"But our Intimidators are within range of their shipyards as well as their shields correct?"

"Yes sir."

"Alright. Order all of the Intimidators to concentrate fire on the shipyard labelled X-32 Explosive shells only. They are to concentrate power on the power generators. They are to attempt to keep the shipyard between themselves and the planet if at all possible. The rest of the fleet is to arrange themselves in Battle Formation around the Intimidators with us and the Sovereign Eclipse Facing towards the planet. The Gunships and the Bird of Preys are to arrange themselves facing away from the planet to guard from an attack by ships coming out of hyperspace. Jam all long range communications. If they haven't gotten a call for help out yet I don't want them too."

"Yes sir."

"Sir, controllers on the planet are asking our intentions."

"Don't bother replying. They'll understand soon enough."

"Sensors, give me an indicator on the damage to the shipyard."

"Yes sir. Their armour at the point of attack is in pretty bad shape. One more volley and it's gone."


"Very well."

"Order the Corellian Gunships to prepare for a jump to hyperspace to the Dantooine System. They are to re-inforce fleet elements already there and order the Intimidator's to fire again."


Once again Explosive Shells shot out of the Intimidators targetting the same place as before the armour right over the first of the shipyard's power core. Explosions rocked the shipyard and a few pieces broke free to tumble towards the shields. They never made it however. The automated homing minds centralized around the Shipyards attacked the debris preventing it from striking the shields but eliminating some of their number.

"Sir, they are destroying the yards."

"Good for them. They are antiquated technology as is, covered in cobwebs. Send them a thank you fruit basket if we get the opperunity."

"Aye sir."

"Sir, we have reports of many major and minor explosions within the target shipyard. It appears that the last shot hit the reactor. There reactor is going critical. It's going to blow!"

Suddenly a huge flash of light eliminated Vice-President Meer's view of the shipyard. When he could see again it was obvious that the shipyard had been permanently disabeled. Huge chunks of the metal were breaking off as Marth looked on. The shipyard was disintegrating. As piece after piece of the shipyard broke off they attracted the myriad homing mines that had been densly concentrated around the shipyard. Mine after mine impacted with the shipyard but it was too big for the mines to totally take it out. With another huge flash the shipyard hit the first of the shields protecting the planet. When the explosions had finally stopped the shield was still holding but a safe path towards the planet through the mines had been cleared.

"Is there any reaction from the planet?" Marth asked.

"No sir, it appears that they really don't care. The Gunships just jumped to hyperspace."

"Alright, order the X-Wings to fire on the Shipyard. They are to slave all of their targetting data to the Lightstalker's targeting computer. The X-Wings are to divide up into Squadrons and fire one squadron at a time."

The orders were relayed and the X-Wings broke formation forming up into squadrons. Then one squadron after the other the well-drilled Sovereignty pilots fired then moved out of the way for the next squadron to fire.

There was no obvious damage at the start but the continuous fire began to take it's toll. By the time half the figters had fired the shipyard was beginning to show some very noticeable signs of damage. By the time the first 300 fighters had fired the shipyard was already starting to deteriorate.

Even before the last torpedo impacted the shipyard had already started to breakup. The trailing ones just signed it's death warrant. Once again another shipyard began to break up and fall from orbit and once again it impacted against the shield.

"Sir. We have a message from Dantooine. Commodore Welth reports that the enemy strength is heavy but he can defeat them if he receives reinforcements."

"Order Furious, Devil, Samurai and Starlight to precede to Dantooine. Escorting them will be Task Force Titan and all the X-wings."

"Targets acquired."

"Fire. All weapons." The the order was sent. In an moment, six red beams, as well as two blue lanced out from emplacements around the surface. As they headed out to space, three times the sky flickered. Then, as they departed into space, the sky flicked three more times.
