Making Things Work
GDI Training

Eriadu. Once the base of Operations for Grand Moff Tarkin and the capitol of his territories, this polluted factory planet is also a governmental hub in the outer rim, the centre of the many spokes of some gigantic cosmic wheel.

It was here that the newest officer of the Galactic Defence Initiative’s navy. Above the polluted surface of the former capitol, a fleet of warships is arrayed for battle. On the bridge of the Task Force Slayer flagship Majestic, Tam Satare looks out at the ‘enemy’.

On the other side of the arena, a man stands on the bridge of the flagship of Task Force Sentinel. Unbeknownst to the commander of Slayer Group, the group’s commanding officer is none other than Supreme Commander Dxun Isstal, Commander-in-Chief of the Galactic Defence Initiative. The Supreme Commander smiled and keyed a voice-only link to the Majestic.
“Vice-Admiral, welcome to Eriadu. The games are on. Happy hunting.” He cut off the transmission and turned to the crew.
“Helm, take us forward at half speed, Vulcan Head formation. Launch starfighters in a protective screen.” The ship’s lighting dimmed before coming back to combat lighting, and the general alert sounded across the task force.

Array the force in "Claw" formation. 1 click apart, Carracks form the port and starboard hooks. Put 3 of the VST's as the bottom claw, and the ISD's as the top. Have the other VSD's hang back with us.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Claw sir?<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

You know stupid, it looks like a +, but the ends go foward.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Yes sir, I know what a claw is, I just don't think it is the best forma..<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

Just do it. Let me do the thinking.

Deploy the fighters. Have a fourth stay back.

Put the fighters in a point formation, have them strike right through the screen.

The Supreme Commander smiled slighty. The claw formation was effective in most battles... but not against the likes of a man like Isstal.

"Tactical," he said almost casually, "Reverse formation and go to Omega 001. Execute on my mark," he casually waited until the opposing fleet was merly ten kilometres out. "Mark."

"Tactical, bring the Carracks forward of the main force and engage the enemy fighter screen. Wing Commander, keep for ships behind the Carracks and prepare to mop up and survivours." He swivelled his command chair.
"Bring us about 90 degrees, instruct the other ships to do likewise." He smiled. Time to play.

OOC: I don't even know what formation you were in to begin with, and what the heck is "Omega 001" My char can <!--EZCODE UNDERLINE START-->see<!--EZCODE UNDERLINE END--> you know.

IC:

Tem thought for a few seconds.
Widen the ends of the claw, and pull them around the enemy fleet. Send the extra fighters around, and have them attack from the back.

Bring the Majestic and the three extra ISD's in, and have them take out those Carracks *he points to 3 Carracks who are in the front* Have the Fighters engage the enemy fighters.

Be careful not to get in too close, make sure the back of the claw out a bit too.

*He watched as his orders were completed quickly and smoothly, He could get used to this*

(Omega Signal is the general order for battle... I've been meaning to put a list up and such as well... :lol)

"Sir, the fighters are breaking off. Course baring zero-zero-nine and closing." Isstal nodded and watched the end of the claw come together to form almost a lollypop shape.
"Reverse thrust on those Carracks for twenty seconds then have them approach the enemy fleet at maximum speed, scatter pattern. Send forward the two more to cover them."
The Supreme Commander watched the numbers on the console scroll down to zero. "All batteries, open fire." he said calmly.

The blaster fire lanced from the opposisions ships, slamming into the shields of his ship.

All ships reroute Hyperdrive power to foward shields. Bring the Main fighter force forward, have them engage the enemy fighters. Tell the back up fighterforce to stay behind the enemy, and not attack yet.

Bring the top and bottom claws foward and down. I want those six SD's to take care of the enemy command ship.

Have the Majesic and her ISD's Pull foward and attack the Carracks.

Prepare to switch to Wall formation.

He smiled at the expected manouver.
"Wing Commander, regroup your forces in Holding Sector Alpha. Tactical, you may commence."

And as the opposing starfighters chased the ships, a trio of Carrack Cruisers darted in, their heavy laser cannons filling the space behind the retreating starfighters with laser fire.

"Wing Commaner, you've got the green."

Tem watched as the three Carracks shot forward past his Carracks, and into his fighters.

Fighter Force, break and retreat

Take the majestic forward, and bring the Forward Carracks back, we have these three in a circle now.

4 enemy Carracks, one Super Cruser, and 3 ISD’s now surrounded the three enemy Carracks.

The weakened Turbo Lasers from Tem’s ships slammed against the trios shields, the computers calculated, and the Referee Frigate declared the trio dead.

{Edit} <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Tem is on vacation today, and he asked me to keep this going, he will be back on the 'marow<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

"Sir, the-" Isstal nodded and smiled.
"I realize that, Captain, thank you. Tactical, break off the Carrack assault and bring them up and over. "Have the Vics target the enemy command ship," he turned. "Helm bring us around and take us into the middle of that formation, arrowhead formation."

Before the enemy fleet could respond, the Carracks were clear, their remarkable speed pushing them out of the trap and around to the flanks of the incoming flaggroup, where the bigger ships' guns would cover them. Even as this happened-

"Wing Commander, you are clear to pursue. Keep the pressure up." And with their starfighter force in disarray, Isstal's ships tore into them like a pack of wild savages.
