Justin Jeter's Duel (Open to one Sith)
  • Posted On: Jul 29 2003 5:31pm
Justin stood on a grassy hill on the planet of Naboo. He was meditating on the Force, letting it move thorugh him, freeing his mind. Kamon had sent him here to find a Sith to battle. It was Justin's next test and he was preparing himself for it.

OOC: No one seems to have touched this so... BTW, How would you like your giblets served to you? :hat

Why do all the bloody Jedi go to the home of their friggin temple to find Sith?

Of course, The Naboo Sith Order, the crowning achievement of Darth Poreon, held a reputation unmatched by the pretenders... the peddlers of the Sith Lore and ancient traditions.

Might as well dig up the old Exar Kuns bones while they are at it.... Frell, everything else has been dug up..

Perrin, for reasons unknown to him, was found aimlessly wandering this planet unafraid.

Walking out onto a meadow he saw a person standing atop a grassy hill, seemingly staring at nothing.

Perhaps his eyes are closed..

Perrin couldn't be too sure at this distance but he really didn't care much. What interested him was the calm that seemed to settle over the fellow.

Meditating are we?

One interesting thing about meditation .. at least among the Jedi is that they happen to always try to "free their mind"...wanting the force to take over their thoughts and actions.

Always wanting to pass the buck..

However, Perrin felt about it, one thing was certain. A mind freed of concious thought was a mind susceptible to...suggestion.

Perrin grinned, reaching out with the force.. albeit dark.

Kill your family....Kill your family.... Kill your family...Kill .. Kill.... Kill...

Sporting the silky green clothes found in a typical Naboo marketplace, he began to stroll toward the hill, applying as much mental pressure as he could without totally destroying the 'calm' of the.. Jedi?

or Padawan?

As Justin meditated, he felt someone approaching. As the figure came closer, Justin felt a voice in his head.

Kill your family....Kill your family.... Kill your family...Kill .. Kill.... Kill...

As the thought entered his head, Justin knew that whoever it was, it was a sith. As the man continued to come closer, the padawan turned to face the man and spoke.

"Hello, sir. What are you doing out here?"

Perrin grinned.

This guy is young..

He showed amusement at the politeness of the fellow whose meditations he was interrupting.

Perrin took a bow at the recognition and his eyes flashed as his eyes never left the hands of the Jedi.

"I am known as Descartes. But you? You may call me Perrin. And you are?"

What to do?

First strike to take his head?

Bait the boy?

Does he have any family that may mourn his loss?

The response would determine his.

Justin kept wary as Perrin replied.

"I am Justin Jeter. What brings you out here?"

The winds swirled about a cloaked figure that looked on from a tree top not too far away. The figure's face was unseen but only a few would truly know him for who he was. His arms were crossed in front of him and his hands were tucked inside his robes.

The man had no intent of doing anything other than watching what was surely going to happen. He knew Perrin for a Sith. Knew that he was also pretty good. Then again, the man knew that Justin was good as well. The man had trained him himself.

For now he was content to watch what would happen. He knew the Sith would try some sneaky attack for his first attack but what that would be he did not know. Justin would have to do this himself.

"What brings me out here?"

Perrin chuckled wryly, walking up to the wary Jedi.

"Oh, you know.. the usual. Conquest of Naboo, the death of all Jedi... you know.."

Perrin almost yawned at his own comments.

He stood face to face with Justin and grinned.

"It's not a bad profession. You blokes do make things easy."

Perrin began to pace around Justin.

"For instance, you will not strike at me. You will not lash out aggressively at me even though I have declared my intent to carve all Jedi to bits and serve them as food for fish.. or Mon Calamarians. Whichever are handy."

Perrin had walked right around Justin and stood to face him once more.

"Doesn't that annoy you?" he asked curiously.

"Don't you ever wonder why we kill so much? Don't you wonder why we will slaughter a Jedi's family, their pets, ..why we attempt to destroy everything you hold dear?"

Perrin's smile turned feral. "I don't know you personally Justin. But even so, I have contempt for you. A hatred of you is forming in the pit of my stomach right now and it is not a hatred or contempt based on anything you have done to me.

It's not that.

It is because I know... I know!!.. that if I slit the throat of your lover in front of you, you will not strike back at me in anger."

Perrin's voice became a mocking Jedi Master's, "That way leads to the 'dark side'."

"If I destroy anything you hold dear you will not act as a good lover should, as a good son should, or as a good brother should! You won't!

You will attempt to be as calm as you are. You will bury your feelings in some stupid display of not caring.

The Jedi don't care. They are cold, unfeeling creatures that cannot... NO! That WILL NOT act!"

Perrin sighed. "Even if they see a threat right before them."

He began his pacing. "So automatically, by your philosophy, I control you. You cannot do anything until I act.

Jedi are reactionaries and the ease with which you give me control over you gives me feelings of contempt.

That you want this for yourself gives me feelings of hatred for your order.

So is it any wonder why we destroy you cold, unfeeling, uncaring @#%$?"

Perrin's eyes narrowed, feeling the metal of his sabre hilt tucked away, and his lips curled in disgust.

"So, my puppet. Shall we dance?"

His hand shot out striking Jeter on the side of his head.

Justin stood, listening to Perrin's taunting words. As the Sith walked around him, Justin felt a dislike for the man beginning to grow. Every word seemed to feed that feeling. Justin let the Force free his thoughts, not wanting to be controlled by his feelings.

As soon as the Sith's hand struck his head, Justin felt pain ebbing from it. Justin continued to let the Force flow through him, calming him, making the pain a little more bearable. The Jedi looked back at Perrin.

"Jedi are not unfeeling creatures. They care a lot more than any Sith does. Sorry to burst your bubble, but, I don't have any family left."

Justin stood awaiting the Sith's response, letting the Force keep him calm.

Perrin's eyes widened in surprise at the faint vehemence found in the young one's voice.

So the pup does know emotion..

"If you are not the unfeeling creatures I say, why do you hide on Naboo meditating on hill?" He asked incredulously.

"Either there are no ills in the galaxy to right or ...or, you just don't care."

Before the boy could speak Perrin held up a hand to stop. His eyes narrowed.

"You seem to young to be a knight, but then, the Jedi have done strange things in the past.

No.

If I were to guess, you are a padawan and your training up till now has included simple manipulations of the force, which is strange in itself.

You see, you are first taught to manipulate the force but then your philosophy dictates that you must allow yourself to be manipulated by the force."

His voice became mocking, "let the force.. flow through you."

Perrin chuckled, "You are on the right track, the force is a tool to control. You do not allow it to control you. With the awesome power you command, you never EVER allow someone or something else... control you."

The Sith took a step back. "In any case, I am not here to tear down completely the Jedi philosophy yet. I am here to further your training.

But before I do, do you not find it interesting that your training does not include the Jedi Code by way of introduction. No. The first thing most teachers do is find out how strong you are. What would it matter if Light will eventually vanquish the Dark?

Could it be that your leaders are not quite as... pious as they would like you to believe?

Do you not find it strange that to further your training, you must engage in combat? They actually send you out looking to pick a fight!

tsk. tsk.

Which brings everything down to me." Perrin bowed slightly.

"I now have control over your training. How much or how little I teach you will depend on how good of a student you are.

So."

Perrin leaned in, a smile forming.

"How good of a student are you?"

A frown creeped over Justin's face as the Sith continued t taunt him.

"I'm a good student. I may be a Padawan still, but, Kamon feels I'm almost ready to take the trials. I don't know everything or how to do everything, but, I do know this. You're mouth speaks many lies. Even if the Jedi Masters were doing something evil, you Sith do it a million times worse. You care about nothing but power."
