OOC: Very well, it seems as though you'll have to venture onward the rest of the way on your own, as I can't promise you that I can respond promptly and I'd prefer not to make you wait anymore than you need to.
IC: "My name offers you nothing more than when you did not know it. I promise you that you will remember my name, Janus... and my presence."
With a subtle nod the figure gestured to the open field.
"I will not be able to accompany you on the rest of your journey as I have elsewhere to be. When you reach the center of the field a portal will open. The portal will then lead to a hidden cave. Many mysterious creatures guard the cave, I trust that you will be able to slay every last one of them. If you survive... you will gain your reward. If not, well then... it just was not meant to be then."
Finally the rain began to pour.
"Any questions?"

"Just one. Not that it really matters, and I doubt you will answer, but, what kind of monsters?"

*Seeing that his temporary companion didn't seem to willing to speak up, he moved off, to the area where he had been informed to go. He set up a little shelter for himself, and slept for the night.*

Janus was standing in a void of sorts. It may have been a room, completely dark, no walls, ceilings, doors, or even floors visible. He turned in a full 360, realizing that for some reason he couldn't use the force to sense around him...Yslimarii perhaps....
As Janus finished his turn, directly infront of him appeared a man. Standing no more than a foot from him, the man was about Janus' height and build. As Janus studied the man, he realized that the face was an exact duplicate of his own. I really need to shave... Perhaps it is a mirror?
Before Janus could check this conjecture, he realized a subtle difference, the eyes. In the place of Janus' pure black eyes, blazed an angry yellow. Janus reached up to touch this man's face, and as he touched him, he felt a great evil surge through his body. The man reached up and grabbed Janus' neck! Janus screamed...
Suddenly Janus was awake, in the cover he had slept under last night. He stood up contemplating the dream, and then felt something, a message, throught the force, coming from nowhere...Odin...

Janus visually shook himself, trying to recollect he thoughts. He sighed and started walking toward the center of the clearing. His legs were wobbily at first, but as he continued, his mind started to clear, and so did his body.
He stopped about halfway to the center, and looked around. It felt to him as if someone or thing was watching him. His glance around showed him nothing visible, though it was quite possible his stalked was hiding from view. He looked up at the sky, and what he saw made him shiver.
It was a bird, sort of, but it was deformed, no feathers, just muscle and skin. He was amazed to see it could fly! It was huge, it had to be 10 feet long as it glided down toward him. He jumped out of the way, the beak narrowly missing him. As he looked back he saw the bird was deformed in several more ways. It talons were too long and heavy for its small wings to possibly support, being that the wings were no more than 2 feel long each. Its body was also far to heavy. It was obvious to him that his creature was made by someone powerful in the force, probably to guard the amulet. He had been warned, his only way through this was to fight.

The hooded figure watched Janus. Raxis clearly saw the Sith through a keen sense of sight, the sight of the force.
He knew every twist and turn that Janus was about to uncover. The creatures, he knew them all, could see their features, their weaknesses, their strengths.
The ominous being had not encountered Janus for very long, but he knew his weakness.
A lost soul that longed for power. Power which he easily thought he could find in an amulet.
Foolish mortal!
He would see and he would learn...

Janus' saber was out in a flash. He made a quick slash on the bird-beast. He cut its stomach open! But the bird flew up into the air and dived on him. Again he jumped to the side, doing a barrel roll. As he came out of the roll, using the persission of the force, he threw his saber behind him. It went flying, point forward, throught the bird-beast's head! Janus smiled in victory as the bird fell.
But just as his smile started, the bird stood up again. Janus sighed heavily, this was going to be harder than he had anticipated. He saber switched off and fell to the ground.
"Ok birdy, lets see what you think of this!"
Janus allowed the force to flow through his body, and over the bird-beast. He concentrated, forcing the force to increase the gravitational pull on the bird by increasing its physical weight. The bird was smashed the the ground. Janus held up his right hand, palm outstretched, fingers pointing at the bird.
"Die!"
From his hands, quick as lightning, came his own lightning, the lightning of the dark side. The bird was consumed in it, its shrill cries could be heard miles away as it thrashed under Janus' gravitationaly hold.

"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Janus laughed maniacally as he watched the bird thrash in its final death throws.
"You were not worthy of my time, and deserved this end for wasting it."
Janus turned from the bird and headed back toward the middle of the meadow, where, as Rax had said, an opening had appeared in the ground.
"Maybe he wasn't as full of @#%$ as I thought?"

Reaching the opening, a wave of commanding energy swept over Janus, swathing itself completely around the lonely Sith; a grave source of energy not to be taken lightly, not even by someone as supercilious as Janus.

"Hmm, interesting. Perhaps there is someone here besides myself and my former associate? No, Rax would have mentioned that. Could it be the amulet? No, to powerful, this much power could not simply be held within a stone!"
Though Janus spoke aloud with no fear, inside there was a different sensation. He was still thinking about his dream, though he knew this was a bad time for that. This hole though, it seemed to eminate fear, which made him want to just go and contemplate lesser things. This made him angry with himself, but still he dared not enter. Obviously there was some powerful force there, and he didn't want to go charging into it. He sat at the corner of the opening, and thought about the best way to handle this...
