Many people have asked why I fight, why I battle with every fiber of my being to defend an institution accused of murder and genocide.

My answer is simple: we bring order to chaos, and take from the chaos from order. I fight because I must fight. I fight so you do not have to.

“… And so the fight to Endgame began in earnest.”

“What is Endgame?”

“The dominance of one foundation over the other three. The ascendancy of the Imperial High Command and the birth of what was...”

****

The task was very much complete, indeed. The General’s masterminded plan had been so thorough and effective that, upon arrival of Grand Admiral Hyfe, the world of Coruscant had been completely in their hands, and Hyfe took command in the Imperial Palace, no questions asked.

This gave Daemon an unprecedented sense of confidence and vitality.

He had now but to make known to the galaxy a few important things… a few very important things.

****

Imperial Palace – Coruscant

Grand Admiral Hyfe had never been in the late Emperor’s old palace before… the Imperial Palace. He had heard wondrous things, certainly. Flamboyant avowals of its “surreal magnificence”.

All the allegations were paled by the structures true splendor.

The palace was grand beyond comprehension… and Daemon Hyfe stood in easily one of the grandest rooms of all.

The Grand Admiral had not been in such a place since his address years ago on Bastion… the infamous Imperial address, he remembered…

And yet in comparison to this… the grand senate chamber on Bastion was but a refresher station. And a dingy one, at that.

It had been a splendid day, though.

Moff Handler, Grand Admiral Zell, Regent Exercon…

"We will rise above the evil, the treachery, the false sense of security that the New Republic has given its ill-informed citizens. We will crush the hinges of the murderous Jedi Order from within. We will demolish the numerous so-called "Imperial Factions" that falsely rise up in the name of the glorious Emperor. Ladies and Gentlemen of the New Order... WE WILL PREVAIL!"

Daemon Hyfe half-smiled at the memory of Zell. Grand Admiral Zell. Now that was an Imperial… A warrior… A man…

So much time had passed…

He could still recollect the first time he met Zell. Aboard the Intrepid before his conquest of Vortex. He had been only an Admiral then.

So much time…

And he remembered Exercon. A shadow of reservation swept across Hyfe’s face at that thought. Yes… the late Regent had been there still yet at the Imperial Address.

“Our vengeance will come not by cowardly means of words, but they shall endure a demonstration of the true power of the Empire! Where our predecessors have failed, we will triumph over all!"

If Exercon had been anything, it was ambitious.

Hyfe pushed his thoughts away from Exercon tenaciously.

But this room was not alive with the activity that there had been on Bastion. Not filled with the clamor and murmurs of Imperial citizens and dignitaries.

No. This room was completely empty, save Hyfe.

Poised atop a rectangular platform, the Grand Admiral straightened his uniform, an interesting variation of his formal Grand Admiral garments, as he felt himself being raised slowly into the air. A few meters above the ground, in the very center of the majestic chamber, the platform on which he stood was suspended. Hovered, rather.

The only other object on the platform was a large chair, of the same model favored by the late Emperor Palpatine.

Hyfe chose to stand, however.

Galaxy-wide, via the HoloNet, this short speech would be broadcast… an address from the highest-ranking man in the largest governing body in the galaxy.

Hyfe squeezed his eyes shut, rubbed his face, and opened his eyes. He cleared his throat and, at the signal, spoke.

“Beings of the galaxy…

Today is a day of change. For the Empire, and indeed, for the galaxy.

I will not be long, as the few announcements I have likewise need but a few words.

And so, to start, I would like to make known that the planet of Coruscant has been liberated by the Empire at long last, and that it will be re-named and hence-forth called by all beings, Imperial Center.

It has been many years since Imperial Center was last in the hands of those deserving of it… those willing to support and sustain this galactic focal point.

Under Imperial control, Coruscant will flourish and prosper. Let it be a shining beacon of hope for all the galaxy’s inhabitants today, and in the days ahead.

Coruscant, Imperial Center, will now serve as the Capital of the Galactic Empire.

On this day, I also do here declare myself Regent of the Galactic Empire and all Imperial forces. The New Order has been without leadership for far too long, and with the all-around consensus of Imperial Military Command, I accept this responsibility with much honor.

As acting Regent, I feel it pertinent to place a deserving officer in command of all military forces in the Galactic Empire. And so it is with great pleasure that I announce that General Simon Kaine shall be promoted to the rank of Grand Marshall, and shall oversee all operations as highest-ranking officer in the galaxy, taking orders from myself only, Regent of The New Order.”

Daemon Hyfe paused in thought for a moment.

“That is all I have to say. Thank you for your time.

Long live the Empire.”

They say the Empire would destroy the galaxy in rivers of the blood of their own dead.

They are wrong.

The Empire is to smart for that.
