Drowning of the Light (Closed)

Jensen glanced around the chamber which permeated with death, he already knew what it looked like to Kahn, the two coming here, but yet at the same time he had no idea who, or what, this tomb was for.

"I don't know," he said as he looked around.

His eyes fixated on Kahn as he spoke, focusing on the subject matter Amalia alluded to earlier.

"Theed...I assume rebuilding of the city has started then?"

The former padawan asked, hoping the villainous acts of the sith had finally subsided.

Amalia had thought very little about the war since arriving on Jomark. She'd tried to avoid the war, and everything about the day, hoping that it would make her forget about everything that had went on.

Why didn't you... just leave me there..

... She had felt so peaceful, resting there untouched, unmoving, nothing to disturb her. Yet... something had brought her back.

She'd been given the chance to put all her nightmares to rest, to have peace once and for all.

It is.. peaceful here...

Despite the strong outpouring of darkness that had washed over her ever since she had arrived on Jomark, Amalia felt at peace on the planet.

Yet sometime soon, she knew that sense of peace would leave her.

I'll keep.. running... I won't go back.. I can't..

She did not want to go back to Naboo, not when she knew what waited for her there.

Abruptly the woman turned away from both men, tears welding into her vision.

".. I won't go!.. I won't go back there... I can't!" She shouted through suppressed cries of anguish.

The two did not have to wait long, as Malice appeared out from behind a few trees just meters ahead of them. His eyes first laid upon his son, whom with a simple smile and nod assured him it was now time for him to leave. Next, his eyes fell upon Cole, a jedi he had met so long ago, but would never forget. Through the force he spoke to him, not wanting Lono to hear what was being said.

(It has been a long time Cole, though i can't say i am at all happy to see you. My son is no longer your concern from here on out, he will be staying with me, so don't expect to see him anytime soon)

Looking back to his son, Malice went to one knee, displaying fatherly emotions of wanting to embrace his son. Though unknown to the young one, whatever emotions Malice would display, they were empty. As was he. Empty of any type of emotion that would resemble happiness, love, care, trust, all those were gone. Only the darkside remaind in him, but even that could be used to fool on lookers.

Wether he meant to or not, Malice would be using the darkside upon Lono, clouding his mind so his son would not notice the change in his father. At least, he figured Lono would not notice. After all, their bond together was not as strong as the bond Lono shared with his mother.

Caught completely off-guard by Amalia's outburst, Kahn's expression of concern and surprise was clear, as he wondered what had triggered her words. Although he'd followed them, with the intention of turning Amalia back to the Light, he'd never dreamed of taking his Master back to Naboo without her consent. In all truth, he wasn't sure if it were even possible- Amalia was more than a formidable opponent, and when she had her heart set on something, there was precious little one could do to change her mind.

The Jedi Master stepped forward, towards Amalia, reaching out instinctively, to place a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Amalia, it's all right, it's okay."

The anguish in her tone- the fear it carried as well- were a shock to Kahn; he'd never imagined the mere idea of returning to the place she'd called home for so many years could distress Amalia so much.

"I won't make you go back, I would never force you to come back with me, Master, you know that."

At least, he hoped she still trusted him enough to realize the truth in his words, that he wasn't going to drag her kicking and screaming back to Naboo, or force her to do anything against her will.

Jensen didn't expect Amalia's sudden change. He didn't expect it to affect him as it did either. Her words tore him up inside badly, very badly.

He wasted no time, as he moved to console the lady, who was now directly in front of him, Kahn was at her side, he glanced a Kahn for a brief moment, the seriousness and concern was evident in Jensen, as it was in Kahn.

He gently placed his hands over her upper arms very lightly, a gesture to try to get her to focus a bit, and to allow her to know everything was ok.

He saw the tears welling up in Amalia's eyes, a sight that was so hard for Jensen to take, she was clearly upset right now, if Jensen could he would take all of her pain and sorrows away.

"Please don't do that…" Jensen said his voice pleading, the tears were building up within her, the more that seem to build, the more it tore at his emotions.

"Look at me Amalia" He said quietly and calmly trying to gain her attention in a voice that could hopefully help calm her.

"Nobody is going to force you to do anything, that you don't wish to do. I'm sure Naboo harbors some ill memories and feelings. But I'm also sure there are many good memories and feelings there. What we try our best to do is remember and cherish the good and forgive and forget the bad. I realize Amalia, that is not always possible to do, and sometimes that cannot happen. But we as people cannot always avoid our past, no matter how hard we try."

"That being said, nobody is going to force you to go back there, or do anything you do not wish to do."

Jensen watched her in silence, visibly concerned over her state.

Try as both man did to console Amalia, they could not.

Just the very mention of Naboo brought the woman discomfort. All she wanted was to have all the discomfort and anguish leave her.

Yet she believed that nothing that was said or done could change things.

She looked to Kahn first, and then to Jensen, wondering if either of the two knew what waited for her back on Naboo.

Pain and sadness reached Amalia's gaze as she locked eyes with Jensen.

".. You know why I can't go back there... you know what will happen... I..."

The woman sharply turned her gaze down and to her right, her face tightening as both of her hands clenched into fists at her side.

"... I.. want to go back.. but I'm..."

She was afraid.

"... I can't.."

There was something Lono found in his father's eyes that made him feel uneasy, however, he kept this uneasiness from his father quite well.

"We're going to see mommy, huh?"

Lono did not know how or why, but he felt that he would see his mother.

He tried hard to imitate his father's lack of expression as he locked onto his face as he wondered what Malice was thinking about.

"I want to help you find her."

Even though his father failed to mention it, he also somehow knew that Malice was looking for her.

Yet at the same time, he was frightened.

His mother and father did not get along.

It made him sad.. yet at the same time angry.

"... Why do you want to see her, daddy?"

As Lono came close, Malice embraced him, leaving his sons words un answered for a few minutes. As the embrace parted, Malice then spoke to him.

*Yes we are going to see your mother Lono. And i know you want to help find her, which is why i have come for you*

Standing back now to his regular height, Malice lead Lono away from Cole, using the darkside some what to wash over Lono. Sensing the uneasiness within his son, Malice would do his best to try and "make" his son forget about those emotions. Using a bit of illusion to implant within his sons mind that things were ok at the emoment.

As he spoke once more, his voice now was on more of the softness side of emotions. Not wanting to make his son change his mind about coming with him, for Lono was an important piece to his plans.

*Well, i know how much you want to see your mother Lono. I can feel it. And though we do not get along, there was something we always agreed on, and that was you. Your life is more important to us then our own, and we intend to bring you up the best way possible. Now, what do you say we go get something to eat, and then find your mother*

It took Every bit of Malice's will and patience to pull of the concern and genuine feelings he placed into his words. For in truth, they harbored none of the same feelings Malice was trying to portray. But he didn't want his son acting different around him, feeling uncomfortable. Not yet.

Through the force now Malice searchef for her, not knowing where she was or what has become of here. Getting no instant lock on her, Malice now spoke through the force in general. Hoping his message would get to her, as he centered on the feelings he once had for here that he recently found out were still laying within himself.

(Amalia.....i have him...)

Was all he said. He knew, that if she had gotten the message, she would know what that would meant and who was sending it. Not many knew that one of Amalia's weaknesses was her family. And Lono being her first born, Malice had a feeling she would be tied just a bit closer to him, then to her other children. At least, he hoped...

Kahn did not miss the way Jensen moved quickly to console Amalia, and he could sense the way her anguish pained the other man, just as it pained Kahn. For a very brief moment, the Jedi Master couldn't help the jealousy that swelled within him. It was illogical, and uncalled for- after all, he should be glad that at least Jensen harbored no ill will towards Amalia- in fact, he dismissed the emotion as soon as he felt it. It was merely a feeling born from the type of bond they'd first formed- when he'd been young, she'd been more than just his Master and friend- she'd also, in part, represented the maternal figure that had been missing in his life. The same instinct that made children selfishly want to keep their parents to themselves was what brought up the feeling in Kahn; however, he was no child any more, and he calmly pushed it away.

What concerned him more was what he could sense coming from Amalia- an emotion he'd often struggled with himself, though one that seemed out of place in his usually calm Master. That emotion was fear.

"Why can't you go back to Naboo, Master?"

He tried to catch her gaze as he asked the question softly, though he had a feeling she wouldn't be too willing to answer. There had been a time, when he would have known the reason, just as Jensen did- a time that the bond they shared would let him discern the reason, if not very clearly, at least some vague notion. But the Darkness clouded that bond now, and Kahn had the unsettling experience of realizing that he understood precious little of what was going on now.

What are you so afraid of?

He let the question hang in the Force, instead of speaking it aloud.

She was right, Jensen did know what would happen, but her fears shouldn't change what she wanted to do.

"I know...I know what will happen. But that should be no reason to deny yourself what you really want to do Amalia. As long as we run, we will prolong the inevitable."

His tone was softer.

"Do you really want to run forever?"

Jensen didn't believe she did, at the same time he did know what awaited the lady on Naboo, as well as what awaited him. And because of that, the sadness welled up inside the former padawan. Quite simply, he really deep down didn't want her to go through it. He found it so very hard to choose the words he had just expressed to her. He seemed to find it so easy to just agree with the lady, to just run, and keep running. At least then he'd have the comfort of knowing Amalia was safe, and unharmed.

His gaze followed her, and as she seemed to meet his, he tried to smile to help calm the lady. But it was really of no use, the seriousness of the situation was too much.

"But no ones going to force you to do anything you don't want to do, this has to be your decision."

His eyes fell slightly to the side toward Kahn but not directly, and he spoke.

"Her feelings are justified Master Kahn."

It was not Jensen's place to really say why, plus voicing it would no doubt be hurtful to him as well as Amalia.
