<font color=blue>With his lightsaber in hand, Velil had become a deadly foe. Several onslaughting guards had met their demise to the hands of the ample wielding Chiss warrior. As the Alliance soldiers had surrounded him now as he stood dryly in the courtyard of the base, his skin was suddenly dampened with a brief sweat.</font>
"Freeze Sith, throw down your weapon and you shall not be harmed!"<font color=blue> one of the guards yelled, who's statement was backed up by the click of a blaster. His violet blade did not waver, and rather he hurled it directly for the one that had chosen to speak out against him.
Literally slashing into him on its own accord, the rest of the men encircling him foolishly opened fire. Several did manage to step asside, but with Velil's sudden leap, several of the blaster shots collaberated with each other and killed the guards on either side of the circle. Using telekenisis he pulled back the saber, but instead of catching it, he ducked once again, this time hacking down even more guards in the process.
Wrought about in a massed array were the corpses of those that had challenged the Sith, with only two of the guards remaining. He decided to let them go, there were more important matters at hand.
Lifting up one of the automatic blaster rifles in one hand and balancing the lightsaber in the other, Velil made off for the exit of the courtyard of the base, being greeted by the smiling embrace of grass and the horizon. I'll be out of here soon.</font>
<font color=red>Lancing outward like a grim stalwart of death was the Naboo Sith fleet, undaunting in their task at rescuing one of their own kind. Admiral Akiju was well aware of the risks they were taking, but one of their own was at stake here, a fellow disciple seeking learning and was rather kidnapped.</font>
"Is the uplink channel ready for the Repulic ships?"<font color=red> asked Akiju, stroking his jawline with his gentle index finger.
His comms officer, Lt. Gileard, nodded affirmatively.</font> "Aye sir, patch set."
<font color=red>Akiju nodded and watched as the holovid of the Republic admiral came en que.</font> "Attention Admiral of the New Republic, this is Admiral Akiju of the Naboo Sith Order, and this is now Sith space due to unlawful kidnapping, attempted murder and assault on Naboo Sith ships. All insurrectors shall be swiftly destroyed. We will fight until we receive our prisoner back and secure a buffer zone."
<font color=red>It was quite obvious the New Republic admiral was not ready to let the words get through his thick skull. Therefore all wings were readied, whilst the capital ships boxed themselves around the Republic craft.</font>

A predatory smirk crossed the face of Gash Jiren as the imbecile Naboo Sith force attempted to move outward to surround the New Republic fleet in their midst. The current position of the Star Destroyers put a clear advantage over the Sith ships, and they sought to mirror this position.
"Pivot the Star Destroyers. Have them move to keep our surrounding position around the Sith vessels. Continue to fire with starboard gunners. Retreat the main group slightly."
Quickly enough, the Naboo Sith Order attempt to "box" themselves around the New Republic ships was negated, as the fleet of TNSO vessels continued to stay in the center of the NR formation, putting them into a vulnerable position. The Eclipse Star Destroyer, its own bulk working against it, had still not completed its complete turn to focus on Gash's forces.
The shields of the Sugarcult began to shrink under the continuing force of the turbolaser blasts, at first imperceptably, but with exponential decay. The white hot energy of the massive ship began to ebb away at the thing's power. On the primary display, to Gash's right, the Star Destroyer was shown to have been reduced to 59% shields. The continued assault was working, however slowly.
'Admiral Jiren,' the sensors officer spoke, 'A transmission for you. From the Naboo Sith Order.'
"Anything of legitimate interest to distract me from commanding my forces?"
'No, sir. Standard, foolish call for surrender.'
"File it away. Maybe I'll listen to it afterwards."
Gash turned to face out the viewport, a small blue-white blaze errupting against the shields of his massive Vlyx. The white hot energy's dissipation blocked his view for just a moment, before it too fled away. The Eclipse Star Destroyer, shields still shrinking, came back into view just as a small explosion errupted to the right of the Alpha Cross.
"What was that?"
'A Corellian Corvette, sir. It took a turbolaser blast to the bridge.'
"Damn! Order them to evacuate. What is the status of the enemy fighters?"
'Against our one hundred squadrons, they have lost a squadron of X-wings and five TIE Defenders.'
"Good. Have them continue to engage the enemy fighters. If at all possible, they should attempt to fire concussion missiles at the Sugarcult."
'Yes, sir.'

The superlaser fired. It struck one of the Vlyx styled battle cruisers, and began turning it into a firery inferno. Yet, the Sugarcult had been taking serious damage too. While the superlaser recharged, the gunners of the mammoth ship fired at those little pests shooting concussions missiles. They managed to pick off most of the missiles, yet some still got through and impacted against the shield and some breached the hull, but not by much. The TNSO fleet fired in salvos systematicly starting with the smaller enemy support ships. Cut off the lifelines and the heart doesn't work.
Although the ESD's shields had dropped below 50%, it shunted power from its hyperdrive engines and secondary needs to bolster the shields back up into the 80 percentile. It would hold for a while, quite a while.
The Immobilizers, Krayts, Vibres, and Customs frigates, which were the faster ships, had been able to get around the NR's tactics and manuever itself to a point where it could fire in full force upon whatever it pleased, and so had the Assault boats...
These ships all opened up on the bellies of Star Destroyers and Battle Dragons. What an effective, foolproof plan. But did it lack substance? One man, if he could say it, thought not. That was Pyrael. Where was he, noone knew? All it was was piss-poor excuses to aggravate.
The TNSO Fleet was matching up quite well to the New Republic fleet, aside from the Enslaver on the TNSO side and the Corvette on the NR side, nothing had perished yet. But were some ships close to... Like the Vyxl which had been fired upon. A couple of squadrons of TIE Defenders had pulled up along side and had begun starfing it with missiles and lasers. It soon would be dead.

In the corner of Gash's eye, the frontal tip detonated brutally, sending the ship spiraling slowly away in a dance of death. The bombardment continued under Gash's shouted commands, with the Imperial Star Destroyers pointing down towards the Eclipse Star Destroyer to protect their exposed underbellies. The massive vessel directly in front of Gash's command ship, the faltering shields suddenly jumped up to a higher stability level, visibly overlaying the areas on the damaged vessel which had begun to flame.
"Move that Corellian Vlyx back of the battle line. Detach ten squadrons of Penetrators to engage those fool TIE Defenders."
Gash glanced back at his sensors officer, a curious look in his eye. He approached the man's console station in the command trench, glancing down at the display and smirking triumphantly.[/b]
"They have shunted power from somewhere."
'Yes, sir. We can't determine where-'
"Has their return fire relented, at all?"
'No, sir.'
"I see. Only a fool would live his ship unmaneuverable; so, what system are they not using right now?"
The man appeared puzzled for a moment, before Gash spoke the answer in unison with him. 'The hyperdrive,' They both said.
"Have the fighters clear us a path to the underbelly of that craft."
'Yes sir!'
Returning to the upper command area, Gash glanced out the forward viewport and continued to smirk. He quietly ordered several officers to begin the procedure necessary to rocket the Zeus-Class Vlyx forward and underneath the Eclipse Star Destroyer. With a lurch and a slight shudder of acceleration, the vessel blasted forward, tilting down towards the bombarded ship. The corner of the sensor officer's holoscreen below read 69% shields when Gash glanced down at it, the enemy fighter loss now numbering the all but 6 of the TIE Defenders, in addition to the X-wing losses.
The Eclipse accomplished it's namesake for the crew of the Alpha Cross, as the relatively-agile Vlyx darted under the massive underbelly of the craft, the torrent of fire up at the ship beginning. The second Zeus-Class Vlyx had followed, while the other vessels continued to assault the Eclipse from above, and all sides. The maelstrom of turbolaser fire concentrated itself specifically on an area aft of the solar ionization reactor, near the region housing the massive drive which propelled the weapon of destruction through hyperspace.
With a bending effect, the shields of the craft above knelt, and crumbled, giving way in that small area to the power of the Zeus' combined fire. Gash ordered concussion missile blasts into that rift in the shields, the tiny packages of death exploding brightly against the dark hull of the craft above. The tempest of fire gave way to a medium sized hole in the hull of the craft itself, and Gash found himself glaring intently into that space.
"Arm ion cannons."
'Armed and ready.'
"Fire on target."
With a blue-white splash, the ion charges leapt forth into the crevace, illuminating the area within. Bolts of eletricity sparked through the area, frying and overloading electronic systems in their path. The tiny mechanical demons which were the ion cannon's charges continued to scramble through the vessel, until the target was met with explosive force.
For, there was a method to Jiren's madness; while circuitry already active meerly was shut down by ion blasts, delicate machinery such as a hyperdrive would prove immensely volatile when met with the force-fed eletricity of ion cannons. The rippling energy within those blue shots blazed through the machinery of the Sugarcult's hyperdrive, the specific and delicate machinery within instantly exploading in a hail of fire and shrapnel, the explosion not only crippling the primary hyperdrive, but doing damage to the ship as a whole.
Gash turned interrogatively to his second, Captain Tellien, for a damage report.
'The explosion has caused a ripple effect in the ship, damaging hull integrity, reducing it to an estimated 70%. The hyperdrive has been knocked out, and the vessels shields have returned to 48% maximum efficiency.'
"Their fighters?"
'All the TIE Defenders have been wiped out. We're engaging the others.'
"Good. Continue the bombardment- all gunners find weak areas in the shielding and capitalize on them."

OOC: Time's up.
The battle continued in full force, the New Republic forces circling around the massive belly of the seventeen kilometer ship, continuing to bombard the vessel with turbolaser blasts and ion cannon energy. The ships unleashed everything in their arsenal, the Vlyx groujp pulling up at the front of the ship, staring down the superlaser.
Gash Jiren stood stoicly at the helm of the Alpha Cross, the turbolaser blasts blazing all around him. In the distance, a smaller New Republic vessel's aft exploded, sending it spiraling off from the battle. To the rear of the Zeus-Class Vlyx upon which Gash stood, the Corellian Vlyx which had been fired upon by the Naboo Sith Order superlaser was safely out of the battle, the other vessels filing into it's place in the battle lines.
"Surround them- offensive pattern Alpha-deus-six-five-oh. Let us strike the crushing blow."
Captain Tellien nodded curtly, the Zeus-Class Vlyx backpeddling, forward thrusters firing to reverse the ship's direction slowly. The dagger-shaped craft concentrated it's massive firepower on the frontal portion of the Eclipse Star Destroyer, the shields of the ship burning white hot as energy was stripped from it.
Gash strode to the command console at the rear of his vessel, entering a set of co-ordinates into the machine slowly, carefully plotting the fire patterns he was ordering the vessels to use. As the small lightpen in his hand flashed across the screen to convey his meaning effectively to the other commanders in the New Republic fleet, turbolaser fire lancing in, illuminating the bridge through the transparisteel viewports at their fore.
The elliptical firing point of the superlaser was lit brightly by the energy shields errupting before it. A fighter flashed across the viewports of the Alpha Cross' bridge, shielding Gash's eyes from the electrical blaze for a moment. When the vessel and it's tail fled away, the Eclipse Star Destroyer's shields began to bend inward, crushed in by the pressure of the fleet's constant pounding. With a massive explosion, the frontal shields collapsed, the vessel's front now completely exposed.
Fire began to pour into the gaping wound in the Sugarcult's shielding. Gash glanced out of the viewport, sitting down at the data console to command the fire as it poured into the ship.
Flicking the lightpen across the screen in quick strokes, Gash directed the fire wordlessly into the thin area of hull just behind the superlaser's tip, tearing into the ship and causing massive erruptions of fire and shrapnel which began to tear the tip of the craft away. Quickly, Gash directed the ion cannon fire into the firing point itself, the thousands of blue ion bolts pouring in to accompany the green turbolasers. The blue electrical pulses began to crackle soundlessly through the ship's front.
Then, as if chased from that frontal point, the multicolored, disabling electrical storms began to spark up the hull of the ship, following the tubular line of the superlaser into the generator's core, shocking the system into dysfunction, then disabling it altogether.
'The enemy turbolaser is down.'
"Excellent, Captain. Continue to fire. Focus all fire on the area behind the turbolaser."
Suddenly, with a massive, screaching tear that nobody could hear, the triangular upper front of the ship tore forth from it, spilling components, shrapnel, fire and bodies into space, exposing the inner superstructure of the ship to space. The fire poured into that hole, illuminating it. Slowly, the front of the ship bearing the superlaser floated away from the ship, it's death throes ignored by the New Republic fleet...

Velil's pace quicked as the KDY planetary turbolaser came into view over the horizon. Alliance troops were everywhere, guarding the weapons systems with apparently their lives. By the Sith's count there were twenty five of them outside, the Force told him there were two workers and fifteen guards inside. His blue hands dropped to his dragon shaped lightsaber at his side when his danger sense flicked on. Snapping the weapon with a familiar snap-hiss the crimson blade was struck again.
A blaster bolt was reflected from his blade and he then leapt to his side, swinging the beam ferocisouly at the first guard nearest him, cutting the man clean in half. A barrage of blasterfire suddenly came Velil's way and he dropped to his knees. The dangerous beams of energy surged over his head and so he lifted his hand as a concentration of the Force gathered around him. Waving his hand, Velil forced several of the men on their backs.
With one dead and seventeen on the ground, the Chiss had a lot more operating room. He sensed a blaster bolt coming his way and he knocked it back like a Corellian Freeball, scoring a blow to the head. Three guards suddenly rushed him, and so Velil turned into a full chage. He thrusted the blade forward and took down one of them yet he did not acknowledge it, he merely withdrew and went for the next.
The man dropped low to avoid the swish of the lightsaber, and then swung viciously at his nemesis. Velil was not about to be hit, so he brought the weapon down and removed his opponent's hand. That was the end of the fight there. There was one left standing whom decided to unload on the Sith with massive laser blasts. Two scored against VElil, sending him on his back.</font>
"I got him!"<font color=blue> the guard yelled excitedly, running toward the downed warrior to finish the job. But as he ran, VElil decided to use the man's momentum against him, lifting the blade to impale him. The other men on the ground felt themselves wise, and remained there.</font>
"We surrender!"<font color=blue> one of them yelled, rising to her knees. Velil did not pay attention to the Duros attempting to parlay, and rather summoned one of the T-21s from a steaming corpse. Cranking back the hammer he suddenly unleashed a vicious blast of laserfire on the prisoners. In a minute or two of rapid fire blasts, they were all gone.
He then made for the gigantic turbolaser, kicking open the doors and blasting at the first level. He felt four Force energies suddenly disappear with loud, wet thumps. Similarly he made for the control room. After a short skirmish, the turbolaser was his. The chiss then sat at the control console in an attempt to gain lock on the enemy craft.</font>
<font color=red>The fleet had been caught with their pants down and so far was being steadily pushed away from Wayland. The mighty Sugarcult's shields were just about gone, and even now chunks of the hull began to detach from the main frame. However, by now the superlaser was finished charging, all they needed to do was aim. The bow was now doing just that.
The Enslaver-Class Star Destroyer Asmodeus suddenly took up a defensive position just above the Sugarcult's main bow. Its turbolasers rained out on the Vxyls specifically, but even more fire was retuend on it, as well as the Eclipse Star Destroyer.
Comms were frantically transmitted to and from the Sith ships with orders and commands for a hopeful victory. The second Enslaver-Class, the Lucifer, suddenly reverted itself on the left flank of the Republic fleet, a long strain of green turbolasers and ion blasts speckling off their foes.</font>
"Shields droppong on enemy Vxyls!"<font color=red> Someone called out from the Lucifer. This was short-lived excitement as suddenly the Victory-Class Star Destroyer Pit Fiend erupted into flames around the Sugarcult. Enemy starfighters swarmed through the explosion and debris, but thsi gave the Eclipse Star Destroyer an idea. Though not quite enough, the Sugarcult's tractor beams began to pull in the wreckage around the craft. It would work as a moderate shield.
the remaining Mark II VicStars plowed on top and bottom of the Cult; Hell Hound, Morning Glory, and Vornskr lingerong one kilometer above the mother ship with the Gloriful, Merciless, and Enslaver one and a half klicks below. By now the Sugarcult was aimed and ready.</font>
"Fire on-,"<font color=red> the commander never finished his statement as a rocketing explosion suddenly occured, throwing the super laser offline. "What happened?"
"Sir...we lost the super laser...it's gone!"
"Arg...seal off the bulkheads and everything around the bow...revert power to shields."
<font color=red>After a second or two the Sugarcult's shields returned to 35% thanks to both engine and superlaser power. Turbolasers were still focused on the Vxyls and larger craft around the 17 kilometer ship.
VicStars all suddenly loosed their missiles, in unison with the X-Wings...decimating more shields on the bigger...and even smaller ships.</font>

OOC: Well, Chadd, you managed to freeze yet another RP. For one, you infiltrated and took command of such a crucial weapon in a single post -- you predetermined our guard numbers, and even more, for "merely" 25 soldiers a disciple would have quite some trouble. You disregarded the need to charge the Turbolaser, as stated in the rules, and in addition you neglected the planetary shields as you illegally fired it. On top of this, you deemed it rational to substantially lower the shields of <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> every<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Republic craft (rather drastically in comparison to the loss statistics of previous posts), and all the while we have gotten minimal progress when <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> all<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> of our craft had fired upon your ESD - to set a benchmark.
(And note that these "larger craft" you so generally write into your post reach into 2,250 and 5,100 meters.)

Actually, the Merger thread (Day of the Dove) was designed to be parallel to this one.And the negotiations weren't HUGE as you have said.
