Branching Out (Closed)

"Indeed. Quite perceptive of you." A deep male voice spoke softly behind them, amusement marking his tone. "Almost bloody brilliant, really." When the women turned around, they found themselves facing, not one, but three men, each with a blaster trained on them. The youngest, a pimply faced blond whose parents really should have invested in some dental insurance, had eyes only for Damalis' legs, while the other two, both much older, were alot better at keeping their eye on the entire scene. The taller of them, the man in the middle, was a quietly handsome fellow, easily over looked at first glance, with longer than average black hair. He was smiling at them and it was discovered he was the speaker as he continued. "Welcome aboard my ship. Please, no valiant efforts to escape and no one will be hurt."

As everyone stood silent, Arawn hoped this was not going to be an enormous mistake. He seriously needed the credits and this seemed harmless enough in the planning but now that he was looking at the unfolding of his plan, it wasn't feeling so great. For one, things had already gone wrong. Intercepting the new ship Kyoufu had bought and sending it on another course had taken longer than anticipater, which left the reprogrammed servo droid alone to go nuts for longer than he'd liked. Then they get here and find not one woman, but two. Not only was this not planned for but the tall leggy woman decked out in yellow was holding a lightsaber.

Now Arawn had serious doubts she was a Jedi, for one she looked much too young to have passed any sorta training, and two, she moved like a woman, and not like a fighter. Even female Jedi's had that distinct way of standing on the balls of their feet that showed they were ready for anything, but this one looked ready to dance around the room, instead of chopping any heads off. Combine that with the added problem that he'd been told Kyoufu herself was prone to attack and Arawn was more than a little nervous about the whole thing.

None of that showed however as he smiled and motioned at Damalis with the blaster. "Now, kindly put down the weapon and we'll be on our way." He felt bad about the way both women jumped when the door behind them slammed shut, the servo droid having parked itself on the other side of the entrance. The cloth wrapped up in the tracks gave him pause, but he'd check into that later.

Very carefully Damalis held out her hand, dangling the lightsaber between two fingers. She wasn't stupid. She knew her own skill with a lightsaber was nothing to 3 men with blasters trained on her at point blank range. Shoot, her capabilities wasn't even good enough to handle the thing without burning herself half the time.

So with very deliberate movements she stepped forward, kneeled down and dropped the weapon, then stepped back, hands in the air. After all, no sense in getting shot right off hand. Given time they could get away, she hoped, but not here and now she was sure of.

Eyes narrowed, Chiisai carefully judged the situation. Much like Damalis, she realized fighting now was not the thing. Other than her own fighting skills being almost nill, Chiisai more than knew enough to know that she hadn't a chance against 3 men, much less three that were armed. So, in defence, the tiny Hapan fell back upon her best defence, cold indifferance.

"I do not know what you think to accomplish here, but I think I should tell you your highly inadequate to complete the job."

"Possibly." Watching as the young crewman hopped forward and picked up the dropped light saber, Arawn smiled, before motioning the ladies with his blaster. "But it's not been proven yet so step this way and things will keep going nice and easy."

Taking the offered weapon from the boy, Arawn raised a brow, wondering to himself why a creature like the blond had something like this. Maybe she just picked it up some place else, or even bought it, but he couldn't see her wielding a lightsaber. Hooking it safely to his belt, he followed behind his hostages, leading them to a room deep within the ship. Once they were safely inside the secure room, he sealed the door without another word. For this business to work he had to keep it as un-personal as possible and standing around chatting to them wasn't about to help him do that.

"So......," Damalis slowly rocked on her heels as she looked around the room. She seemed perfectly calm but the blond was really contemplating whether or not she should start panicing. To do so was fruitless she knew and served no real purpose but Damalis thought she would probably feel ten times better if she just screamed alot, thrashed about the room and then had to be smacked back into her normal consciousness. There was just something that felt really fulfilling about doing all that right now.

Damalis was a little sad to know that she wasn't going to though. Sometimes being practical snuck up on her.

"What are we going to do now?"

"Nothing." Chiisai fairly grated the word from between clenched teeth, then she visibly relaxed. No sense in staying all tense, it did her no good and only served to make her muscles sore. Unfolding her arms, Chiisai let them drop, limp to her sides, as she shrugged. "What else is there to do? I am not capable of storming the troops." A thought occurred to the tiny woman then, so she added. "And the room is probably bugged."

Which left Chiisai with very little to say. She wanted to know who this person was and, since it was readily apparent, to Chiisai at least, that they had been kidnapped because of her, this other girl couldn't possibly be nearly as important as she was, the tiny woman tried to think of how to phrase her next words carefully. If these men thought the blond wasn't important, and because Chiisai herself owed her for her help with the wild droid, it was possible they would think the blond expendable. Being in someone's debt didn't happen often to Chiisai and this situation made it even more ackward.

She needed to know who this girl was but she didn't want to give the impression that the blond wasn't important enough to not be harmed. That a servant of her's would be protected, was the idea Chiisai finally settled on, as it was completely impossible to simply claim the blond as a friend. It was obvious that no one would ever believe a person of her station would be friends with such a woman as this, so Chiisai thought carefully, then spoke once more.

"It is truly... above par that someone would attempt to kidnap me, Chiisai Kyoufu, and throw her in such a tiny dingy room. I should have brought more servant's than just you with me but I didn't think I needed the protection. That's alright though. They'd never dare hurt me or a servant of mine either." There, now she had done her best to try and get the blond to understand what she was hinting at. Only time would tell if she caught her meaning.

"It's not bugged." Damalis offered helpfully, not even questioning herself on how she knew. She just did and explained further. "I mean, they did but the boy forgot to turn them on just yet. And that's probably a real good idea. Saying I'm your servant, I mean. And I'm Damalis and before he remembers to turn the things on, I might as well tell you who I am, right?" The blond offered perkily, smiling friendly like. This situation might be completely off the wall, but there was no reason to make it any harder by not getting along with her fellow captive. "And before you ask, I'm not a jedi. I've had training but it wasn't for me, you know? I mean, it was interesting but not exactly something I was good at."

"You may not be a jedi, but it's obvious you have some skills." Chiisai was quite prepared to use what ever she could in this situation and, even if the blond was bogus and just an insane dim-wit, this Damalis was the only thing Chiisai had.

Turning her back to the taller woman, Chiisai regally swept across the room then sat upon a horribly plain metal bench. She rearranged her ragged machine chewed skirts into an artful array as if she dealt with mangled clothes on a daily basis, before looking at her fellow captive once more.

"So, tell me, what else do you just happen to know?"

"Nothing now... it kinda fades when I try to make it tell me something." Damalis explained lamely, her face flushing pink in her embarassment. She rushed on however, still hoping to be of some help. "But I know we have a few minutes before the boy remembers to turn the thing on. The long haired guy is asking him right now about what setting it's on so they can check what we're talking about..... Oh, I guess that means it is working isn't it?" Smiling brightly, Damalis rattled along in relief.

"I mean, I know I said it faded when I tried to make it work but then it worked again just fine... maybe that means it's changing. Which I'm not against, believe me, it gets annoying to think you can know something but when you want to it won't work except to do it on it's own and for no reason. That's why I was here, I knew I had to be, which I guess was a good thing since that robot thing was out of control but it can get oh so annoying when I'm sorta trying to know something, like if someone is on their way for a visit or if their lost or something, but it never works then. Only.."

"Shut up." Her expression never changing, Chiisai looked blankly at Damalis as she stopped talking, obviously shocked by the smaller woman's rude interuption, but Chiisai didn't care. "We do not have time for you to waste air. Any time you just 'know' something, tell me in a way that they will not realize your doing so. If you are capable of doing that, that is. Until then, you are a servant of mine so they will not think to send you blankly into space. Understood?"
