"Yeehaa!"
Kamon was feeling it now. The tunnel had been easy. He could have done it with his eyes closed. The spires of Death were next. He was really pushing his pod now.
He flew into the spires and began maneuvering. Simple twists and turns along with some braking would make this part pretty easy.

Rif, unlike many others, had an Idea.
He blasted his engines-TOWARDS the spires. Kamon was ahead, and Rif did his best to follow him exactly. As he neared, his plan was to blast the engines for one sudden jut of speed, and get his power couplings into Kamons' pod.
That would reck some machinery and knock Kamon unconcious.
But until then, he grimly watched each turn and twist, blazing an expert trail behind the Jedi Racer.

At this point it was time to ignore the other racers, if he could keep on the outside edge of the track he could have the best chance of making it through the spires in one piece. He pulled his pod hard to the left, twisting his engine axel fully horizontal. If he could keept his pods bottom pointed at the spires themselves the antigrav plate on the bottom of it should keep him from slaming into anything...

Endocott sped down the raceway with a hum, right towards the spires. His endurance would no doubt pay off in the end for his lost position. He planned on passing up the others right before the spires, it would be easier to keep them behind him through them. He jolted his couplings forward with a burst of speed, to pass those in front of him.

Vondiranach is steadily pulling ahead, his pod is absolutely floored folks. He seems to think the Spires are childs play, and with the way he’s going through them, I suspect they are to him.
Rif is trying hard to keep up, but I can see that he’s slowly falling behind. Check your portable viewers for exact measurements on speed difference. Kresher is also falling behind, he’s using his pods unique design to go through the spires quickly, but not fast enough. OUCH! He received a little jolt there, the bottom of his cockpit hit a spire.
Endocott hasn’t appeared to move one iota during this race, he’s always right there, keeping up. I have the feeling that the next section of track will display some hidden power in that pod of his. He’s trying to pull ahead here, but no. The spires are too close to the exit of the cave, and his pod does not have the guts to allow a daring pass.
AND HERE COMES SELBUBA! He’s been floating for almost ten seconds, I almost forgot about him. It looks like he’s gunning his engines, trying to get the most out of the low friction envyroment he’s in now. High up, above the spires he could take the lead. That is, if he doesn’t get skewered on the way down.

Kamon was having a rather easy time. His reflexes along with the Force helped him through. According to the map, he had the sarlaac pits and the Jawas to go yet.
Tough the stuff. He would have to rely on his speed against the Jawas. Maneuverability against the sarlaac pits. He continued on at a steady pace.

I'm not letting you get away Rif thought. He slammed the emergancy engines, and loosed a blast of fire twice the size of the actual pods.
This would burst him ahead, but now his eyes moved away from Kamon as he merely worked on the fastest path.
If he could not catch him, he'd over-take him and keep him behind

"Frell that hurt!"
[i]The scratch had jolted every bone in his body, quite a shock for him, but a rush of adrenaline did the body good.
Checking his map readout he saw the sarlac pits were ahead. Not so sizeable, but very killable. He readied the next stage of his plan. If he could cut off his hover pad for a split second, his pod section would angle down slightly, then cut break, his engines would follow, then switch the hover pad back on and gun the engines he might be able to hop scotch a straight line over the pits themselves, Shaving valuable seconds off his race time.

The spires were easy. Ebe easily swayed himself through them with his maneuverable pod like nothing. He kept up with the others the entire time. Maybe to keep himself distant until the end... Ebe got himself ready to make his first pass at the Sarlacc pits.

Selbuba is floating, gunning his engines desperately, trying to land well after the spires. With the monsters he has, I don’t doubt he’ll pull it off. HE MADE IT! The Great Selbuba has landed himself in second place. I’m sure that landing shook his pod up quite a bit.
Endocott is looking to take advantage of the confusion, and Selbuba’s cloud of dust to pass, he’s maneuvering in front of Kresher. Kresher is employing a strange technique to “hop” over the sarlacc pits, he just tested it now.
And around the bend into the pits they go. Endocott is pushing hard, he just missed that pit. Kresher “jumped” to early there, I think a tentacle snagged his cockpit, he’s stopped… now he’s moving. He’s been dropped to last place, but he’s catching up already. OH! He’s got blood on his face, must have been that projectile earlier.
Endocott has fourth place, Selbuba and Vondiranach are scrapping at each other for first. Rif is trying to position himself so he can gun through when they break…
They’re halfway through the sarlacc pits, and fast approaching the falbled Jawa mafia’s hangout, where many a racer has met an ill end to a lucky blaster shot.
