The Cycle of life never changes. War and Famine consume all, building forward into something that very few can survive without being pushed through the ringer of feces related incidents, or, to put it simply, to be thrown straight into the shit, and to come out on top.

For Aleister Mianar, Life, was not his choice, but, it was his right. The 16 year old boy stood brandishing the one gift that his parents had left beside his ancient crib like place, when they left him, abandoned him in the lower levels of Coruscant some 16 years before. He sighed, and as he took to running, the tears dropped to the ground as he animalistically leapt through the air, his large blackened wings flapping in the wind as he soared through the lower level, swooping down on his enemies, he began to hunt for dinner.
Aleister Mianar, was not human, this was obvious to any who looked at him.

It was likely that his parents and he were the last of their species, one who had slowly died out from a long forgotten planet, and had attempted to live amongst Humans. However, when the Imperials retook Coruscant, things became much more difficult for the boy. Not to believe they weren’t difficult already… Being an alien, with a particularly hard to hide “Affliction.” He was known to the people around him, simply as “Aleister, Al, or “hey, you, Flyboy.” He didn’t mind so much, at least they talked to him and didn’t shun him as if he had a wart on his forehead or 14 eyes. Though if he did, he figured he’d use that as a strength just as he used the reactions of the people, and his “affliction.” There was something about Aleister that many couldn’t place. He seemed to be light years ahead of many of the “children” his age. He could run faster, see farther, and jump higher than all of them, by leaps and bounds, at least, sometimes…. Other times he could barely walk, and, that was never good for anyone.

As he Flew, targeting what would be his dinner, He choked up a bit, and the tears begin to fall onto the carcasses of those creatures he had slain. He set himself down on one of the upper canopies, and began to cry.

16 Years Earlier

Deep in the arts district of Coruscant, a young child was born. Perhaps, Born, and child, were, not exactly the most appropriate of terms. Created, and Abandoned, might perhaps fit this young being’s circumstances in a more appropriate nature. What maddening thought, that two parents would leave a young alien child, in the lower levels of Coruscant. It was almost as if they did not expect his survival, so they chose instead to keep their own lives and vanish, not allowing themselves to be connected to it. They had severed their connection to their species, in a painful process by slicing off the very wings which were their only feature which made them appear nonhuman. However, the baby’s had barely started to grow, and they did not have the heart to put it through such a painful procedure.

Two lower level street urchins, a Human named Krina, and a Rodian named Niktel, found the young child while they were looking for food. At this point, they were hungry enough that they even considered killing and devouring the child, but Krina refused to allow them to do so. She noted the small sprouted wings on his back, and knew, that one day, she would learn more about him than she’d even want to know. She took the boy into her arms, held him close, and they walked that day through the wastes, back to the home the two shared.

Present Day:

After Aleister finished his weeping, He looked upward to the passage that would lead to the upper level of Coruscant, one that he had been told never to take. However, his parents were no longer here to tell him what to do. 2 years prior, they had been killed in a fight over food with another band of urchins, and Aleister had escaped with his life, mainly due to his ability to fly. He looked long and hard, at the entrance to the upper level, and he felt his legs tense as he pushed off, flying towards it. He would taste freedom, something his parents never did. He swore that to himself.

Aleister Mianar, for the first time in his 16 years of unnatural life tensed his leg muscles and prepared to fly for the opening to the upper level. There had been stairs at one time, but they had rotted away, and crumbled to the ground, leaving only someone of his persuasion to be able to make the journey anyway.

He really didn't understand why his "parents" were so worried about him going up to the upper level. He understood, he supposed, the danger of being an alien in that world, but, he had to know for himself, and now, with his parents gone, and nothing left for him here, he finally had the courage to break that barrier.

He took to flight, for the last time, with his arms at his side, his sword on its hilt. He would take with him that, his final piece of connection to his birth, as he shed the cocoon that trapped him in the lower levels and emerged through the evisceral birth canal of existence onto the plane of self indulgence and racism. He knew that his journey would not likely end well, but, he had to try, for the sake of his own knowledge.

He took flight, without looking back this time, and reached up as he flew, carring himself through the area that lead to the upper level. He flew up to the dilapidated stair case, finally tightening his wings close to his back, trying to keep as low a profile as he possibly could.

He took a look up, having breached into the upper level, and he stopped and smiled in awe... He saw the actual sun, for the first time in his entire existence. He was amazed by its beauty, He would have kept staring, if he hadn't been rudely interrupted, when a hurrying man ran into him and he fell to the ground.

"Get the hell out of my way! Don't you know theres an evacuation going on! The planet is getting over run by some fucking crazy aliens... If you want to survive, go to one of the ships and get out of here before they take this whole ForceForsaken planet!"

Aleister just stared at him blankly. He had no concept of who the the man was talking about, what exactly a ship was, or what was this "Force" that forsook the planet.

The man sighed.

"What the fuck, are you stupid? Geezus... Hey, wait... What the fuck are...." The man finally noticed the wings on Aleisters back, and as he did so, they extended.

"Holy Shit! GUARDS!" The man shouted and he began to run, towards a cadre of Imperial guardsmen who now have turned their attention to Aleister.

Aleister sighed under his breath.

"This can't be good."

He ducked underneath the clothesline thrown from the startled man, and took off running towards the spaceport, having it finally sunk in that the crap was hitting the fan, and he needed to leave.

"You There! Alien Scum, Stop!" The cadre of the Imperial guards shouted at him as they clunked towards him in their trooper armor.

"Cease and desist or we'll be forced to open fire!" the second one shouted.

Aleister turned and looked at him and scowled. He had lived his entire life, these past 16 years, fighting for everything he ever wanted, and for his own survival. Did these men really think he'd listen to them just because they insulted him? He smirked, and summoned as much energy as he could into his legs and took off running. It was not time yet, to show them exactly how well he could fly... that would be a secret best saved as a last ditch effort.

The Imperial guards gave chase, and blaster bolts rained past Aleister's head, as he started to seemingly pull away from him.

Aleister ran full tilt, and bowled over a woman in his way, shouting an appology as she cursed at him, and tried to help herself up before the Imperials giving chase actually ran the woman down again.

He ducked in and out of alley ways, and buildings, trying to throw things in the guards path over and over again, and he just barely managed to stay ahead of them. He stopped himself just short of turning a corner when he heard an alien dialect, that he had never heard before... the sound of which chilled his bones.

The Aliens turned the corner, and came face to face with the Imperial guards that had been chasing him, who's faces turned an ashen white. They had not expected this.

Aleister grabbed a drainage pipe on the side of the building and climbed it with relative ease, using the aliens distraction of the troopers to sneak away.

He snuck in through a window of an apartment that appeared to be mostly vacated, but, still had some leftover clothing. He tucked his wings back, as best as 'humanly" possible, and put on a tan trenchcoat and a hat. He hoped it would be enough to give a casual disguise. It also covered his weapon, which made things easier. Slipping through the back of the apartment, and making his way into the crowded spaceport, He didn't even bother to look at the destinations of the ships leaving... He simply weaved in between those who were taking their sweet time, and slipped aboard one of the ships, hoping to stay as incognito, as humanly possible.

As his large frame rested in one of the compartments, he felt exhaustion taking over, and he fell into sleep as he felt the ship lift off.

Awoooga! Awoooga! Awoooga!

The alarm sirens jostled Aleister awake from his deep sleep. He was unsure of how long he'd been unconscious in that particular berthing compartment, and unsure of how far they'd travelled on this relatively large sized evacuation ship that well, was larger than any he'd ever seen before. That wasn't hard to believe since, it was in truth, one of the first ships he'd ever seen in his 16 sheltered years of life.

He began to hear some form of garbled transmission over an intercom system, and he only caught the words "Trouble", "Crash" and "Reavers". As he opened the door and peered out of his cabin, he nearly had his head knocked off by two humans running down the hallway in terror.

Aleister felt the ground of the ship move underneath his feet and he landed squarely on his ass, as a laser volley slammed against the ship. It was apparent he would not be on this vessell much longer, unless it was his final resting place.

He didn't have much time, but he chose instead to listen to the voice, which directed them to escape pods. It also warned that the Reavers might try to target the pods, which made it a risk, but that certain death would come if the reavers managed to board this particular ship.

Aleister had heard all he wanted to hear. He made his way towards the back hatchs where the escape pods were, and slipped into one, saying a small prayer for the people left behind to their fate, and one to whatever deity would keep him out of the hands of the reavers. The pods were set on autopilot, and would set down on the closest planet in known space.

Aleister checked his destination as the pod lept from the ship, and he breathed a tense sigh.

"Yavin IV.... I wonder what that will be like."

He would soon find out. He watched in horror as 3/4 of the pods exploded into fragments and their occupants were slain. He felt extremely lucky, that he would in fact make it to the planet... though he didn't know why, because he knew nothing about it, and as he felt the pod break through the protective layer of the atmosphere, he braced himself as the pod crashed in its lush jungle...The last thing he remembered, before passing out from shock, was a foreboding feeling that something, he didn't know what, but something...was watching him.

Rebel Alliance Base, Yavin

"The transport's IFF codes were Imperial," replied Commander Nix, "why there was an Imperial Transport coming to Yavin, I don't know. But I would rather like us to know; particularly since we've managed to use it very successfully as a sleeper base all of these years..."

"There is no way they're onto us..."

Nix leaned back, "These Reavers at least have provided the perfect cover for operation. I doubt the Imperials will want to come back for a while, particularly since they have other things to worry about if the Bothan Spynet is to be believed..."

"So we're not going to look for the escape pod?"

"Do you know what happened when the Imps didn't immediately check that escape pod from the Tantive IV? They lost the Death Star plans...of course we're going to check it out. And by we, I mean you," informed the commander, "you're probably going to have to take one of the speeder bikes to get to it. We just have a general location of it, so you'll have to pick it out within the jungle...."

Rogers shrugged. "A silverish thing can't be that difficult to find in a bunch of green...I think."

"Well then, chop chop, and get me some answers."

***

One hour later...

All right, well maybe that silver thing can be difficult to find... Rogers cut done another cluster of hanging vines with his vibroblade. The foliage merely slid off the branch and hit the ground with a rustle. Out of habit, Rogers instantly leaned up against the tree to conceal himself. But the only thing that met him was a soft, tropical breeze. His green eyes peered into the clearing in front of him...Same thing as before...okay, that's not the same thing as before...he stared at the gray cylinder which sprouted out from a cluster of bushes. I'm going to guess that that's the escape pod...and it doesn't even look opened yet... The scout slipped his vibroblade into its sheath and replaced it with a drawn blaster. He quickly glanced at the weapon. Full power...everything is ready. The man crept towards the ship as if he were stalking a skittish bantha; slowly circling closer and closer to it. Fifteen long minutes passed before he reached the pod's doors.

He pulled the handle on the door; it fell down onto the jungle floor with a thud. Yet that didn't manage to wake the craft's lone occupant. Rogers stared intently at the prone being. That's the oddest Imperial I've seen...in a trench coat? Doesn't look like a military man at the very least. Maybe a civilian or a contractor? Could be ISB or intelligence agent of sorts...I'll have to figure that out....but safey first. The Alliance soldier pulled out a length of synthrope and began to tie the being up. Odd...this doesn't feel quite human...but why would an alien be on an Imp transport. i-jacked it or is it a spy? And he has a sword...I think I'll relieve him of that until he wakes up...

Some Time Later...

Aleister Mianar was completly unconscious. So Unconscious, that he didn't protest, or move a muscle when he was tied up, and taken away from the crash scene. Nor did he pay the slightest bit of attention when he was stripped of his clothing, and his sword, and sedated on the table to treat three broken ribs, and a twisted ankle. Amazingly the rest of his body was in perfect shape.

Hello there, My Friend. I trust that you've slept well. a voice spoke to him in his head, and he could almost see the image of him, cloaked in a light red glow.

Inside his head he returned the conversation.

"Who the hell are you?"

It is of little consequence. What matters, my friend is that you are highly gifted, and I have chosen you, to receive a gift.

"Yeah? Whats that, an encyclopedia?"

No, you simple minded simpleton. My name is Han Skywalker, I WAS a Jedi Knight, before I fell to the Dark Side. After my death, I...began to realize exactly how wrong I'd been to lead that path. Amazingly, some of my artifacts are still here, on this planet, where I was killed.

"So you want me to collect them for you? If you're a ghost how will you use them?"

I won't use anything you idiot. I am telling you how to find them, so that they may find a good home. You will need them when you leave this place, for I have forseen your exit here will lead you on a path to the Planet Ilum, to meet with a Jedi Master named Dolash.

"I see... What's a Jedi, And Why do I want to meet him?"

A Jedi is a keeper of the peace, the sworn enemy of the Sith, and the upholder of all that is good and right in the galaxy. You wish to meet Master Dolash, so that he will train you to be a Jedi, and help you hone the skills you already possess. I am certain by now you realize that you are not average in anyway shape or form, especially in regards to athletics.

"Fair Enough. So, How do i find this stuff of yours?"

In Due time, My friend, In Due Time. However, First, You must wake up, and answer their questions. If you answer honestly, Given your nature, there should be no harm to come to you. It is time, that you woke up.

With that, and feeling like he'd just been run over by one of those large ships that he'd seen, he opened his eyes and groaned. His vision was still a bit blurry, but he could make out several figures in the room. He also realized that he was hooked up to several monitors, as well as strapped down by the arms and legs to the gurney. He did his best not to freak out and flail, as his wings could cause much damage and that was not his intention.

Back at Yavin Base...

The two men circled around the alien positioned in the centre of the musty storage room like howlrunners around a wounded Bantha. Nix intently stared at the being, seeming to analyze its every vein and spot of skin. Rogers, on the other hand, paid as little attention to the creature as possible, mostly because his mind was occupied with training missions for his men and the recent turn of galactic events. Yet Nix wanted him to at least look busy, so he did. Whines from repulsorlifts periodically hummed by the door, reminding to the two men that they were next to the temple's main hangar bay, and as importantly, to any help that they could need. Rogers stopped his feigned study of the being strapped to the gurney.

"I don't think he's an Imp," decided Rogers, staring at their patient/prisoner, "there is nothing Imperial on him, and he doesn't even look Imperial. When was the last time you've heard of an alien working for the Imps?"

"Thrawn," replied Nix, "of course, the Empire is probably using countless alien agents they've attained by bribes and blackmail. They're as much as foes of the Empire as the Empire's agents, and I think this could be the case with this ma- ...being."

"Well, I think we're about to find out soon," said the scout glancing at his chrono, "the sedatives I gave him will be wearing off in a few minutes."

Nix stared intently at the creature, and Rogers followed suit. His breathing is changing...the stupor is about to wear off... As the alien's glazed eyes opened up to face the artificial light of the room, Nix pulled out a datapad with its stylus. The officer cleared his throat.

"Who are you? And what are you doing on Yavin IV?"

Aleister's eyes finally stopped glazing over and he turned his head, to the man who spoke.

"How do I know you're not one of those... Alien haters....Like on Coruscant."

He paused and watched the mans reaction, hearing Han's words in his head from the dream.

"I... Appologize." He winced, feeling the pain in his ribs.

"I see you have treated my injuries. For this, I thank you." At the same time, he noticed the binding of his arms and legs.

"You perceive me a threat? I suppose that would make sense, especially if you were an enemy of the people in who's pod I arrived here inside. Perhaps In time I will show you that I mean your people no harm. My name, as you have so politely asked for, is Aleister Mianar. I do not know my real parents, or even what my species is called. I was adopted by two lower level street urchins in Coruscant, from the age of 2, and I was raised for the last 14 years other than the last two, by them. They were killed, and I chose to take my leave of the Coruscant underworld." He paused, remembering his slain "parents" and a small tear rolled down his cheek.

"None too soon, it seems. As i entered the upper level, I was nearly run over by a man running in fear. From what I was to gather, the entire planet was in evacuation, from some alien threat, but that didn't stop the man from calling the guards in white armor on me, simply because I was different from them. I eluded capture, stealing this jacket and hat to hide my "condition" and slipped aboard an Imperial Evacuation Vessell. It was ambushed as it entered something I heard them call "Reaver Space" and the escape pods were launched. Mine was the only one, that I am aware of, to survive the attack, and it was programmed to go to the nearest planet, which, as it turns out, was here."

He sighed gently, feeling the tension in his wrists.

"I give you my word, No harm will come to you or any of your people from me. However, My wrists are very sore, and I would be most appreciative if you would remove those restraints so that I may sit up properly to continue this conversation."

He looked at the man who had asked him the question, and awaited a response.

Commander Nix gradually nodded as Aleister spoke. With the alien's attention mostly focused on the interrogator, Rogers slipped to the edge of the room and out of Aleister's visional periphery. The scout analyzed the strange being intently as he spoke. He seems pretty honest...well, judging by how quickly he's talking and the sheer volume of words that come spewing out of his mouth, he's either telling the truth or he is a very good actor...and I very prepared one at that. All of those details...professional liars never give many details because the more details there are, the more mistakes there are made that can be discovered or checked with a background. Any Imp intel agent would know that...and so far, all of his details could check out for the most part. Perhaps most importantly, he couldn't possibly have fabricated this all up since no-one knows that the Alliance still exists, much less at Yavin... The alien stopped speaking.

"I see," stated Commander Nix, "Corporal, would you join me outside for a second? Have no worries, Mr. Mianar, we will be right with you."

The officer gestured briefly at Rogers, and the two Alliance soldiers marched out of the room. As soon as they had passed through the doorway, Nix slapped a button: the door shut behind them.

"What's your opinion on Mr. Mianar?" asked Nix.

"I think he's telling the truth. He's talked way too much to be an Imperial of any sort," answered Rogers, "and how he would know to check out Yavin at all makes little sense since no-one knows of the Alliance's existence or that there's even anyone here; the sensor blind does a pretty good job at concealing us..."

"It would be a very expensive set-up too," agreed Nix, "No-one blows up entire transports or is able to control the Reavers just to possibly infiltrate one spy into our mists."

"So he's not an Imp," considered Rogers, "what do we do then? We can't exactly have him wonder around here at free will...."

"Would you rather have him leave the world and possibly talk about our hidden base?"

"No," replied Rogers, "but I think it's important to note that he doesn't know what planet we're on, exactly. If he doesn't know the planet, and just a general area of space, we're talking about hundreds of planets and thousands of locales with each one expanding over hundreds of kilometers. It would be impossible to verify his story."

"Except that the temples are a rather obvious marker," frowned Nix.

"We can't just imprison him..."

"Well, the only thing we can do is give him a choice," said the officer, "we get him transport offworld, or he can remain here under clandestine watch and/or with a guide."

"That is reasonable."

"Good, let us go tell him that."

Rogers slapped the button: the door instantly whipped open for the two men. The scout immediately moved to release the odd alien while Nix imposed himself directly in front of Mianar. The commander cleared his throat and stared directly into the other being's eyes.

"We have agreed that you are not an Imperial spy, and consequently, we are releasing you. We can offer you transport offworld if you would like, or you are welcome to remain here at our base for a while; until you can recuperate from your extradionary travels so far. Rogers here will be your guide while you are staying here with us."

Aleister rubbed his wrists ruefully, listening to the man who had done most of the talking. As it would seem they had decided (as he had told them) that he was not an Imperial spy, and not a threat. He was glad to have heard this, as, he was neither, and these people seemed to be very nice. He had not wished to make an enemy out of either of them. He paused, as he heard Han's voice in his head, this time, not even conjuring a physical image.

My things may be found in/around a sarcophagus inside a room in a Temple to the southwest of your present location. Inside you will find my former Jedi Garb, as well as two blasters, and my old lightsaber. These tools will aide you well in your quest to find Jedi Master Dolash to begin your training. I will guide you there, if you can convince these men to allow you to go. After you have retrieved the items, you should ask for transport to Ilum. From there, the rest of your life is up to you.

Aleister nodded silently, and the interrogator blinked, wondering exactly what the odd alien was doing. Finally, Aleister spoke.

"I have two requests that may test your hospitality, though I am quite sure you would rather have me off this world in short order, so with luck, you will ascertain that they are not of much consequence."

"Firstly, I require transport to a temple to the southwest of here. I must retrieve something from it, and then, I would ask for passage to the planet of Ilum. From there, I shall be out of your hair, unless you wish to call on me to aid you with a service. As an honorable man, among honorable men, I count you all as my friends. Do you find my requests agreeable?"
