An Eye In The Sky: Republic (TDY Personnel)

Placing things into my duffle bag, I sat down on hte edge of my bed, looking down at my feet. I held my breath, and let it out slowly.

Get it together, Jace....these people want you here. They are good for you, and you know it! Now stand up, and pull yourself together! This is going to end now!

That was it, I had won agaionst the voices in my mind. After all this time. It was actually over. I was at peace.

I stood up, silently walking towards the door. Opening it, I looked out at Kamon sitting in the hall. I offered him what I could of a lop-sided grin.

"I guess you're stuck with me, again."

Kamon nodded.

"Good, but I want to talk to you. I don't want this to happen again. Almost losing a padawan is bad enough, but almost losing someone that is like a son to you? That's not cool."

"I knew this was coming," I muttered.

I leaned back against the wall, and slowly slid down to the floor, and sat cross legged, looking up towards Kamon.

"I'm sorry, I just have to say that right off the bat. All right, let's talk then. What exactly did you have in mind?"

Kamon nodded.

"I know you are sorry and so am I. What would make you want to kill yourself? You don't have an obvious reason. We all want you to stay here. We don't hate you."

He got off the chair and sat on the floor next to Jace. His Master had done the same until he was killed.

"I know, it just.....it just seemed like the best thing at the time. I always seemed to be in the way, and I knew that you were moving on with your life by marrying Kate, and I did'nt want to be the one that was holding you back."

I pressed my lips together, and looked at him.

"I thought it was the right thing to do..."

Kamon laughed.

"Just because you are my responsibilty as your Master doesn't mean you are holding me back. My teaching you is a test for me as well. Plus, I learn a lot from you. I enjoy talking with you.

"You will always be welcome here even when I am married. That doesn't make a difference when it comes to us.

"I want to know whats been troubling you the past while. Everytime I meet a woman, you get all secluded. Why?"

Kate sighed and headed out to the landing pad, hundreds of thoughts racing through her mind. She thought of the path which lay ahead for her and of other things, Kamon, the wedding. She loved Kamon, but at the same time, images of Ace Lohan would flash across her mind. It was his suffering and death which drove her to search out those who had made him suffer, to die a slow painful death.

She hadn't told Kamon about this yet. She knew the dangers she was running, especially with her being a week pregnant. Kate turned and looked behind her, taking in one last look of the palace.

Kamon, meet me out on the landing pad inside my ship. I have a few things I want to talk to you about, when you get the time. she said, leaving a message on his com.

Kamon was just about to suggest that he and Jace go for a walk when his com beeped. It was a message from Kate. Kamon looked at Jace.

"Come on."

He and Jace walked out to the landing pads and too Kate's ship. Kamon left Jace outside with instructions to stay there. Just in case he had Colbert keep watch on him.

Kamon walked into the ship and headed for the Cabin where he could feel Kate was. He knocked on the door and walked in.

"You wanted to talk to me?"

It was the first time in years Kate had broken out her low cut, black, gold trimmed peasent top and her black slacks which had a thin gold line running down the seam lines. She slipped them on, then went to a weapons locker which, over the spanse of time, had collected a layer of dust, she opened the locks and the trunk lid opened. Lying there before her was the old black leather duster she had worn as well as a black hilted, Mandalorian blade which had been given to her as a gift. She picked the blade up and spun it around. Memories of her past flooded through her mind. She had been a vicious tirant, spreading chaos and fear across the outter rim territories. The blood which had been spilt by her blade, if ever combined, would have filled a lake.
A cold shiver ran down her spine as she sat down in her chair. She twisted the blade around, allowing the dim lights of the cabin to shine on the silver blade. She sighed softly and noticed a small, silver medallion which hung from the hilt. " What the.." after a brief inspection she removed it and suddenly remembered. It was the medallion she had been given to her by an old Jedi when she had left the way of tirany. Images of that day flashed across her mind. She had nearly died that day. She shook her head, cleared her mind, slipped the medallion on and placed the blade on her lap, picking up the black cloth which lay underneath and began to polish it.
When she heard the knock at her door, she didn't even look up.

" Sit." she said.

Kamon nodded. She must have something on her mind. He sat down and looked at her.

"Is something wrong?"
